Markella meet us on time and was very friendly. She was knowledgeable and proud to be an Athenian. Tour included information on ancient and modern Greece which was interesting. It was a private tour for two people. After finishing, we realised it was 30 min short and we didn’t get our local drink or snack. Tour was good but if you want to see the main tourist attractions it may be better to book a more conventional tour. Friendly knowledgeable guide

We loved our time with Evanthia. She was excellent at communicating with us before to arrange the meeting place. We asked to start 30 min later which she accommodated with no problem or complaint. We loved seeing all the interesting hidden gems of the city center, including the Public Garden and the meat and fish markets. We were grateful to stop for a coffee and rest for a few minutes. She gave good advice on places to go for meals etc. All in all, terrific experience. Terrific Guide- fun morning

Unfortunately the experience was disappointing for us. Eleni was kind, but I am sorry to say that her English simply wasn't good enough, so it was way too difficult for us to understand her. My tour guide (Markella) was incredible and pleasant to converse with throughout the tour. Her historical and cultural knowledge was impressive. The first 30-40 minutes was what I expected…an introduction to the history of Athens, sprinkled with mythological stories. However, the last portion of the tour seemed more off the cuff (in a good way). Markella tailored the rest of the tour based on my questions and interests. This adjustment proved Markella knows the city and really listens to her customers. Alex took us along the sights and hidden gems of the areas around Monastiraki, Psirri and Plaka, and took us inside the Agora (we paid the entrance fee extra). Alex is a great storyteller and he came well prepared with lots of visuals to bring the different sites to life by helping us imagine what they might have looked like. I booked the Highlights and Hidden Gems tour but Alex was understanding and generous enough to accommodate my request to bring me to the Acropolis instead. He was very enthusiastic in sharing his experiences and knowledge of Greek history, literature/mythology and culture. What I have learned about Greece through the years, he was able to summarize in 3 hours. He gave details about the different spots accompanied by images and maps. His English was fluent and clear, so I was able to understand everything. He also took great photos and videos of me, even suggesting where to pose, now posted in my social media accounts.
