What a joy it was to experience Belfast with an enthusiastic and experienced guide. Alwyn walked and talked us through the interesting history of Belfast. His local knowledge and pride were evident in all of the many stories we heard. He was candid and yet very balanced with his perspective about the “troubles”, which was of special interest to us. Conor's cell broke and he didn't get notice of us booking the tour, and so wasn't at the meeting spot. Within 10 minutes I was able to contact the WithLocals staff, who connected with him and he arrived as soon as he could; within an hour of our original meeting time, and very eager to make it up to us. We got a good understanding of Belfast's past and present, and saw a great hidden garden of wall art. Alwyn took us at our word and gave a very personalised time. We did not necessarily want to see the town but wanted to know more about the history- old and recent that has made NI what it is today. On our first day in Belfast we arranged for Conor to walk us around the city center. We really enjoyed meeting Conor who is a warm and fun person and an excellent storyteller. He has much knowledge about local history and local beverages/food and besides showing us an excellent pub and restaurant we got to see what interested us around the city. On our request he walked us by many murals (both old and new ones). We really appreciated that Conor also made an efford to involve our teenagers like letting them try different potatoe crisps or candy. This is an excursion which is ideal as an afternoon activity. We Had a wonderful time with Connor. He is very down-to-earth and was extremely helpful and explaining the culture and the history of this very complicated and historical city. we also enjoyed learning some of the legends in the folklore. We (family with kids) had a lovely Sunday morning tour around Belfast with Alwyn. We really enjoyed our taste and walk with Conor yesterday. My 17 year old grandson said he had the best lemonade, the best crisps, the best hot chocolate EVER! Plus he had the biggest lunch! I had a fantastic morning with Lizzie on a walking tour starting at Belfast City Hall. She is a really nice person who has lived in Belfast her whole life and is extremely knowledgeable about the city. I learned so much in two hours from Lizzie. She answered all my random questions and had stories that she had heard from her dad, her granny and other family members. Later that afternoon I went to the Titanic exhibit and knew so much to give what I was seeing context as Lizzie had provided immense amounts of information in the morning. I really enjoyed meeting Lizzie and would highly recommend her kick start walking tour. Thank you, Lizzie! Lizzie is fabulous

We visited Belfast in the beginning of March and had such a lovely day together with Rodney. He picked us up in his very comfortable car and took us to the fantastic Giants Causeway. Such a marvellous nature and scenery! We went for a walk in the nature park and really enjoyed our visit. During the tour with Rodney we also had time to cross the Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge and visit Ballintoy Harbour. Travelling with two teenagers, we really appreciated Rodney to take his time to listen to their wishes as well. On their initiative we had a stop at the Dark Hedges for a photo opportunity and also stopped for Fish and Chips when they got hungry. We really recommend you all to go on this tour with Rodney. He has lots of knowledge about the area and is a very nice person. He is also an excellent driver. Thank you so much Rodney! Marvellous nature and scenery

My small group of five met Lizzy on Sunday, April 14, 2024 in front of the City Hall. Lizzy was a delight to tour with in the city of Belfast. She was so informative and we learned so much about the history of Belfast. We really enjoyed how her family was so intertwined and influential in the city and loved listening to her tell us proudly about her grandfather. Lizzy was so friendly and she made us feel so welcome. Even when the rain was pelting down on us, Lizzy continued to do her best to provide us with interesting stories about the city both past and present. She stayed with us when we ducked inside the nearest pub to get out of the rain. She extended her time with us well after the two hour tour was supposed to end. We were even able to ask her some questions the next day that helped us with our next adventure. I went on this tour, taken by Conor..I am from Belfast, and he took a small number of us to places in the city I wasnt aware of.His depth of knowledge and engagement was formidable.he was fun, friendly, warm and obviously passionate about sharing the lesser known wonders of the city.We visited an Art workshop, a Military museum, a bespoke whiskey shop, and were taken inside one of Belfast's oldest churches, and more.Throughout, Conor was indefatigable, unfailingly good humored and confident in his knowledge.Our tour was very comprehensive, and, although we only covered a segment of the city centre, I felt what we did see was very rich and interesting. It certainly whetted my appetite for exploring other parts of the city with this company.I felt that It was almost robbery to pay him only 10 pounds per head for this, he is certainly underpaid for the knowledge and value he provided!I would have paid twice the amount and still felt happy, it was that good. I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour, for locals and visitors alike.Brilliant

My family and I had a wonderful tour with Lizzie. We weren't exactly sure where to start or what to see, but Lizzie's knowledge and flexibility helped us sort out a great tour, which included a history of Belfast and seeing key important (and some fun) sights across the city. Did a wonderful walking tour this past Saturday with Conor Owens, whose witty, intelligent, and thoughtful conversation brought small corners or Belfast to life. I learned a lot and had a great timing doing so. We thoroughly enjoyed our city centre walking tour last Friday. It was a great way to get up to speed with the city’s history, culture, art and a lot more. Our friendly guide was full of interesting anecdotes and took us through streets we would have otherwise completely missed. He is clearly very well-liked and seems to know most people in Belfast. Myself, wife, daughter and our Spanish friend took this tour with Conor. We cannot recommend him highly enough. He was knowledgeable, engaged, interested in our viewpoints and gave great value. Our walk up the Shankill Road and down the Falls Road was particularly memorable. We ourselves would not have ventured there unaccompanied yet there was nothing to fear. We only live 20 miles from Belfast. But have always read great reviews about this hidden tour. So we stayed a couple of nights and booked ourselves in for one of these tours. Conor can tailor a tour to meet the needs of individuals but I can see he would be terrific with a large group. Belfast is a real contrast with Dublin and it is full of surprises because it is not what you see on the news programmes. This tour is informative and a bit quirky.
