Adri was full of great information and antidotes about Cádiz. In three hours we were exposed to all the sites our guidebook recommended and her vibe excited us to be in her wonderful city. We booked Joanna on the With Locals website and had to make a couple of amends to timing due to the weather forecast. Not a problem at all, and Joanna kindly agreed to meet us at the Parador where we were staying. This meant our itinerary had to be amended slightly but, honestly, you could not find a more enthusiastic, knowledgeable and inspirational guide to introduce you to this millennia old and very proud independent city. Cadiz is so charming, the people so lovely and the history quite breath taking. We met at 11.00 and, on the dot of 12 midday we were treated to a breakfast Jerez - a very dry Manzanilla - with olives to put a little extra spring in our step. Joanna's knowledge of Cadiz, having lived there for over six years, was awesome, her English of course perfect, and she is known by the traders in the food market, so a table quickly became reserved for us whilst we went around ordering specialist tapas. She had so many tips and contacts we are now able to tap into, including places to visit throughout the Cadiz province. So professional and lovely, we cannot recommend her enough! My tour with Joanna was great. She was able to pick me up at the port gate since I was nervous and traveling alone with crappy phone service. She tailored the tour to the mood of the day. Kept it casual, with great historical education, local wines and beautiful local venues. She definitely turned a sour day into a great one. Adri is friendly, engaging and enthusiastic about history and the city of Cadiz. We really enjoyed the walk around the various monuments and sights as Adri explained a little about them. She told some interesting historical and folk lore stories which brings the old town to life. She gave recommendations of places to visit, which we did and really enjoyed those. We also appreciated the time to sit over a coffee with Adri and talk about living in Spain. Johanna is very knowledgeable about Cádiz and you can feel that she truly loves the city. She was navigating us through the narrow streets of the old town and we learned a lot about the history. I was part of a group of 3 couples who had the pleasure of meeting with Joanna on a private cruise excursion in Cadiz. Joanna was absolutely wonderful! She taught us quite a bit about the rich history of Cadiz and showed us beautiful and historic sites while filling us in with great stories from this amazing city. Joanna also brought us to a local market where we were able to sample some of the local delicacies for ourselves. She even made sure to accommodate one member of our party who is a vegan. Joanna even followed up with us as she knew that Lisbon was our next stop and she offered some great suggestions for that city as well. Overall, a truly great experience. A rainy Good Friday in Cadiz. Adri & our 4 made the best of it. Turned out to be just right. Even though wet, we received a truly fine overview of key sites. Adri did a great job offering to alter her schedule to accommodate disrupted train service between Seville and Cadiz. Unfortunately the trains did not run at times allowing us to connect with her. She said this was highly unusual. But she offered to alter her schedule by 90 minutes. She is very pleasant to work with via phone. Never got to Cadiz. Train service ruined the tour

My group of family and friends all told me they had a great walking tour with Adri. Everyone liked her personality, professionalism and perfect walking tour of the beautiful city of Cadiz (drop the z). Adrian was a delightful, friendly, knowledgeable, informative and 'fun to be with' guide. Every establishment we visited had marvellous food, generous drinks and a friendly welcome. We sampled so many different delicious dishes, lunch lasted from 12.00 midday until 3.30! I was particularly impressed by Adri's enthusiasm for Cadiz and her ability to adapt to the circumstances. We were passing a stall in the market (she expected to be closed) that had just opened so we stopped there because the anchovy skewers are so good.. Thank you Adri for a wonderful afternoon. We had a wonderful day with Joanna. She communicated very well with us before our tour day. The day itself was tailored to our interests and Joanna offered appreciated changes to our arrangements to cater for the inclement weather. Our day in Jerez was informative and interesting; tasting some lovely sherry wines, cocktails and tapas and learning about the history and culture of the town and the general Cadiz area. My rating is not a criticism of Our guide Christina. She was interesting and tried to find tapas that we hadn’t tried yet. Our first try with her had to be rescheduled, because at the time of the original tour, everything was closed. Second time around was much better. We visited two different tapas places. One in the middle of the tourist area, the second definitely a local hangout. The site for the tours is very badly set up. Most of the times offered don’t take into consideration that everything in Cadiz shuts down from around 2-3 till 8pm. The price charged for the tour was highway robbery. I just hope the guide gets a decent portion of it. We paid €177 for the 2 of us. For that money we could have had dinner at the most expensive restaurant in Cadiz!Christina is a very good guide

We had a fantastic food tour with Joanna. It could not have been better. She sent very clear directions on the meeting place and even though the place was crowded due to a festival, it was easy to find her. Joanna's has an excellent knowledge of the city and provided informative details of Cadiz history during the tour. Our stops were very well organized, even though it was a busy Saturday, and included sherry, olives, oysters, paella, local meats, and desserts. Well, in a nutshell Joanna was an awesome guide! She really took the time to personalize our fun filled day of sightseeing and food tastings across the entire island of Cadiz. We covered quite a bit of territory with perfectly timed stops at various food spots for Sherry, Cheese, Tapas, Hot Chocolate and a few sweets! Totally delicious! Joanna also did an amazing job of imparting local history as we roamed through the various areas of Cadiz. I have to say that visiting the local food marketplace was amazing as well. Really got to experience hanging out with the locals and trying out the local fare including fresh oysters just caught from the bay.
