I corresponded with Denise before booking as we wanted a tour that began later than the published tours as we were arriving to Christchurch later in the day. She graciously accommodated us and I appreciate that. We discussed and agreed to a 3 hour walking tour, and she sent a list of the sights this would include. The tour was to begin at 3pm and she told us the meeting point. I emailed her 4 days before the date confirming the time, the meeting place, and the 3hr itinerary. She confirmed. We arrived at the meeting point at 3:07 and after waiting 15 minutes I emailed her and she was in an entirely different location and was not aware of what type of tour it was or the length of the tour. Only after I sent her copies of her email confirmations did she agree she was wrong. Our tour began at 4pm. Denise was a nice person. The tour was adequate, but not interesting. At 6pm we'd had enough and ended it. Disappointing

On my wifes birthday I had arranged a surprice (and my wife hate surprises) which she wont forget ever. Actually it was so succesfull that ske forgot how much pain she had in her right knee during the walk through the old/new part of Christsgurch. Thus we booked Keryn who was on time and showed us some great spots in the centre of the city, was extremely knowledgeable and, based on our interests, suggested the places to explore in more depth the next day as well as some dining tips. Denise is very sweet and knowledgeable about Christchurch and New Zealand. She has an accent but her English is very understandable. She does need to speak louder however. Some in our party were not always able to hear her. The 2 locations we visited with the food and drink were excellent, with great food, wine and coffee or tea and the hosts there were very helpful. Denise did need to provide more information as there was too much unoccupied time. We had a wondeeful tour witb Gaby yesteeday. This was my second time to Christchurch, but firat time hiring a guide. Gaby was perfrct. He knows this town very well and the tour was very informaative. We very much enjoyed our tasting tour of the city with Keryn. We sampled local delicacies at the Riverside Market before hitting a hidden gem for craft beer and then finished off with a memorable flight of local wines and cheeses on the former campus Canterbury College. In addition to sourcing some delicious food and drinks, Keryn shared her knowledge of the city and stories from her own travels, culinary and otherwise. We had a very nice walking tour of the city with many stops to enjoy different types of eating and drinking establishments. Gaby knows his city well and showed us both sweet, savory, and alcoholic locations. The sites were chosen for both the food and/or the interesting location. We did not want to over eat and Gaby adjusted our tour more for tasting than to fill up on food. To top it off, we learned about the Māori language that he is studying.City tour with food stops

We three Californians from Santa Cruz—the epicenter of a serious earthquake in 1989—were particularly interested in Christchurch’s recovery from its recent earthquakes. Keryn tailored our two hour tour to the history of and recovery from the quakes. Her knowledge is expansive and her delivery lively and interesting. We have done extensive traveling. Only recently have we started to take private tours of the cities we are in. We have had some excellent experiences. We have been to Christchurch before but never been on a tour. The tour we had with Keryn was another excellent experience. Keryn is a lively, articulate person who quickly adapted our tour to our particular interests, in this case, the aftermath of the earthquake and the rebuilding of the city. She is very personable, warm and gracious, going out of her way to not only give us a great foodie tour, but also a tour of Christchurch. The tour could have been better planned, a food tasting tour don’t start with the question what do you want to eat but rather explain what’s unique to the city and why it is. It don’t start with a lonely planet book but having done research. I spent 290 euros for 2 pieces of chicken and fries and a hockey pockey ice cream. I expected to discover the culture the cuisine of the city. It felt like a big scam. I wish there was a way to get reimbursed for a worst experience Total waste of time and money
