We had an incredible walking tour of Old Town Dubrovnik with Marco in June 2025. From the moment we met him, Marco was warm, engaging, and full of fascinating stories that brought Dubrovnik’s rich history and culture to life! What made this tour truly special was Marco’s ability to take us off the beaten path. While we did visit some of the city's most iconic landmarks, he also led us through quiet alleys, hidden courtyards, and scenic viewpoints that most tourists completely miss. It felt like we were exploring a more authentic side of the city—one that only a true local could reveal. Marco also shared insider tips on where locals like to go to the beach and where to eat, pointing out small, family-run restaurants and tucked-away wine bars we never would have found on our own. Karmen was a truly fabulous guide for our family of 4, my husband and me, and a daughter aged 19 and son age 15. As we know, with the ubiquity of smartphones in teenager's lives, their attention span is short. Karmen managed to keep their interest the whole time. She is a native to Dubrovnik and knows both the historical and the more recent history of the area equally well. She even threw in some fun Game of Thrones sites, complete with stills from the show to compare with the actual area in real life. She made things relevant but kept it fun. Loved seeing the hidden gems too! Please keep in mind that it is HOT in the summer, so book tours early or much later in the day. Karmen was a GREAT guide!Perfect intro to a beautiful city!

This was such a great thing to do on our first day in Dubrovnik. Barbara was so personable, kind and full of the most useful and interesting stories about the city. We learned about its history, its people, its day to day life, festivals, best spots and things to do, idiosyncrasies and the hidden things that guide books or larger tours just wouldn't tell you. Barbara kept us oldies plus our 13 year old and 18 year old fully engaged (and even squeezed in an ice cream stop to keep energy levels up!). Her stories of her childhood and family life in Croatiia really brought things to life. Her stories and the memorial to the Balkan crisis and siege of Dubrovnik was truly moving. Marko was an awesome tour guide, and I highly recommend him. We had been to Dubrovnik before, but he showed us this gem of town through the eyes of a local who clearly loves living there. Marko was funny, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best stops was to the home of a local in the Old Town to sample her home baked goods, spices, and candied nuts and orange peels.
