Idriss was very friendly and welcoming. He provided us with lots of information about the city of Fes. Along your way you will walk through the Medina and several other locations around town. On the way you experience pottery and tile work, rug weaving, a leather tannery, lots of small craft shops, and delicious local food. The food was great, we got to taste lots of traditional salads, pastillas, tagines, and honey cakes. Idriss is very kind and helpful, and you can adjust the tour to your liking. The experience was amazing, and family friendly. He knows his way around the Medina and takes you through lots of beautiful little streets where, without a guide, you would get lost in a minute. If you want to, Idriss can take you to mini tours through traditional artisans shops where they show you their craft. Please note that these might come with a no-pressure sales speech. It is very easy to say "no" and move on with your tour. These artisans are masters of their craft and have very interesting tours. We learned a lot and had a great time with Idriss! Amazing and friendly experience

We had a wonderful walking tour of the old Medina of Fez with Hamid, our knowledgeable and friendly guide. He old us enthusiastically about history, culture and life in this part of Fez which was fascinating (and in fluent English). Think the Medina of Fez is one of the most interesting visits of our Morocco trip. We visited historical highlights including the tannery, old mosques and tombs. The place is like a maze, without him we would have been lost.! There was no pushing of visiting shops which we appreciated. Driss was a wonderful host of his amazing city. He was patient, kind, and informative, pointing out many interesting sights and features that we would have never noticed otherwise (such as a community bakery for people to make their daily bread). If there is anything in particular you want to see, Driss will make sure you see it. And he is very funny and well-known in the Medina so you really feel like you are walking around with a local friend. At the end of the tour, Driss refused to leave us until he had gotten us in a cab and ensured the fare even though he had another tour starting soon afterwards. On our first day in Fez we started with a guided tour through the Medina with Driss. He really is Driss gps, it seems like everyone knows him and he is greeted everywhere. He showed us around the highlights and gave us a good first impression of the old Medina. He dropped us off at a weavery, tannery, university, hammam, shops and restaurants. We did ask for non touristy recommendations and felt he came a bit short on that front. Doing the tour with Driss gave us the confidence to wander around and explore on ourselves afterwards. Our trek through the Medina behind Driss showed us some neat corners of the medina. We especially loved the tiny hallway streets and the tidbits of history. Rcif Souk especially stood out--it was incredible to move through and past food, dyers, people, energy. The rest of the experience was very focused on commerce. At each of the locations we visited we were met by a very knowledgable buisnessman who told us about the artisans techniques and encouraged us to make purchases. We had a wonderful tour with Noureddine yesterday. We couldn't have asked for a better guide: first of all he has been very kind to come and pick us up very close to our accomodation (it is very easy to get lost in those narrow streets;) ) We walked through the most hidden streets, so that he was able to explain us something about the structure of the houses, the 5 essential elements of a medina etc. out of the loudness of the busy streets. We seized this opportunity indeed also to ask about a lot of our curiosities about life here etc. Then we crossed the street that divides the former tunisian quartier to the spanish one and we entered in the different souks: the fruits and vegetable market, the leather and dying souk, the copper one.. he was so nice to lead us in one of the madrasa explaining everything in a detailed way. Then we also visited a former "founduk" and a carpet and silk, cotton and wool workshop (amazing). We had then the best mint tea we have ever tried in this tiny place that for sure we wouldnt have found without him, it is very hidden and on the top of a building. The guy there was so fun and kind to let us smell all the herbs he picks up to make then the tea. Towards the end our guide pointed us the tannery we were interested in and then led us into the street food area where we had delicious meat, sardines and kind of potato meatballs. Overall, Noureddine spent with us way more time then expected and really fulfilled our expactations 100%! (Btw, we are tour guides ourselves so we completely understand every little side of the job). Completely recommended!We couldn't have asked for a better guide!

Noureddine was unbelievably good from start to finish. His communication prior was thorough and clear. The tour itself was incredibly informative and nothing was too much trouble. We asked loads of questions and so we overran by almost 2 hours, and offered to cut things out as a result, but he would not hear of it. We never once felt at all rushed. Salim was very knowledgable and easy to find. Though we were to go for 3 hours we actually went 4. He tried to make sure we understood his English but my wife and I both, had a lot of difficulty understanding, which made it a very tiring experience. We went to some very fascinating, local artisans. Though we were presented products to buy, we never felt pressured. At about 3 1/2 hours in, we reversed our walk towards where we began. Driss showed us the highlights and more inside the medina. He took us into handicraft shops but was not pushing into buying anything but if we did, he helped us to get an honest price. With Driss we were able to appreciate Fes in a different way without feeling like any other tourist. We had a wonderful time with Noureddine. He asked us what our preferences were and really took this into account to lake the tour interesting for both us as our teenagers. I had the impression we saw all the interesting places, but without queue and with private entrance to some beautiful terraces overseeing the tanneries and the university. Driss is a very likeable and relaxed person. He knows Fes like the back of his hand and everyone knows him. He gave us great impressions of the city, showed us around the market. We visited the Chouara tannery, the dyers, the Koran school, a carpet trader, the oldest hammam, an argan oil shop and had lunch at a rooftop terrace restaurant. Dear Driss Thx a lot for this beautiful day in your hometown. Wir hatten noch nie mit Withlocals gebucht & waren sehr gespannt . Driss ist dort aufgewachsen und konnte uns ein paar Orte zeigen, die wir ohne ihn nie entdeckt hätten. Er nahm sich Zeit für uns und schon nach wenigen Augenblicken war der Kontakt sehr persönlich und wir fühlten uns willkommen und wohl. Leider war es an einem Freitag , wo viele Lokalitäten geschlossen waren , trotzdem haben wir viel vom Souk gesehen , in dem wir uns wirklich verlaufen hätten. Driss ist für jedermann ( wir wollten keine verkaufsveranstaltung sondern einen gemütlichen Tag & den hat er absolut geboten…. Wichtig ist : vorher sagen !!!!! Klar sind die Gerberei / die Weberei usw. Auf Touristen und Verkauf angewiesen, aber als wir sagten, wir hätten keine Lust …. No Problem. ) Gerade weiter zum nächsten Kaffee / kulinarischen Schmankerln. Also ihr Lieben : if you Are in fès : Book Driss for an individuel personal tour . We were so grateful to have Noureddine guide us. We were two female travelers who had an unpleasant experience with another aggressive guide from our hotel the prior night. Luckily, we had Noureddine the next day who was the exact opposite. He had a kind and gentle demeanor. He took the time to listen to what WE wanted to do and see in order to customize our experience. He only took us to trusted and vetted artisanal vendors who were true masters of their craft. When we decided to linger in a shop or two, Noureddine waited patiently. The Medina was very hectic but we never felt rushed or pressured. Of note, Noureddine is a LICENSED guide (we found out that not all “guides” are licensed) and knew the history and culture of the Medina. In the end, he was so generous with his time that he even joined us for lunch where he explained the local cuisine. Thanks, Noureddine. Wow, there isn't enough kind words I can say about Noureddine! I booked a tour with him a little over a week before I arrived in Fes, and Noureddine immediately reached out to me to ask about any interests or specifications I would like during the tour (such as showing us a fabulous view into Kairaouine Mosque from a rooftop, rather than from the entry gates, where many other non-Muslim tourists caught only a glimpse). Throughout the trip (we went to several other cities first), Noureddine checked up on me and whenever I had questions about Fes (such as where to make dinner reservations) or other additions to the tour, he was quick to respond and adjust the tour! During the tour, he was incredibly informative, taking us through the winding streets in the city of his birth. He knows the small alleys like the back of his hand- we would've been lost without him! He went well over our allotted tour time to make sure we saw everything and were satisfied! He had so many interesting tidbits about Fes, and it wasn't a typical droning history lesson. Not only did we come away learning about Fes's past, but also its present and the lives of the Fassis. Plus, he had many years of experience working in the tourism industry before withlocals. After our tour, in which he walked us towards our pick up location, he scheduled a pick-up for us to see a pottery workshop the next day. We spend almost the whole day with Noureddine in the medina with our 2 kids (7 &11) and we all loved it. Noureddine has a lot of knowlegde to share and also made it attractive to our kids to enjoy all the hours of walking and listening. So much to see, smell, eat, discover. His english is perfect and we learned a lot. Definately highly recommended, because without a guide the medina is a proper maze where you easily get lost (no google there to help). Our guide Hamid was very kind, speaks English very well and knews everything about Fes. We’ve learned a lot about the medina. We would recommend Hamid for sure.

He came to our Riad instead of the meeting place which was very pleasant. His English is very good and his knowledge about the medina is excellent. He’s born and raised and now lives in the medina and so knows the place very well. Driss is a very friendly and funny guide, we spent a pleasant time with him. Noureddine was probably the best tour guide we have ever had. He was personable, extremely knowledgeable and wonderful with our kids. He took us to all of the important places in Fes and even stayed with us two extra hours. This was the highlight of our trip!Best tour guide we have had!

Our tour with Noureddine was unparalleled. He was punctual to our meeting point. He communicates extremely well prior to the tour to ensure we see what we want but also imparts his local recommendations. His English is mastered. There was never a moment we didn’t understand each other. His knowledge and love for Fes and Morocco was contagious. He had such a positive attitude and was so friendly to everyone we interacted with. Nothing felt rushed ever. He took his time to explain everything we were curious about and more. Noureddine was gracious, on time, and informative. We got a bowl we went to the Medina because 50 Ramadan and it was a Friday most things were closed, but we managed to find the synagogue and walk through the Medina, which always seems to be partially open. We were not invited into the palace, but of course, sword from the outside I highly recommend NourreddinePleasant Day Great guide

Had a fantastic full day trip in Fes and close surroundings with Noureddine. He’s super knowledgeable, fun, and very well organised. He is born in Fes so knows the medina super well, and brought us to a lot of places we’d never have found alone!
