Reviews from guests
From a thorough understanding of Sweden, its culture, its society and its quirks, Carol can dip into that wealth of information and paint a wonderful mosaic of the many facets of the country and its people. We particularly appreciated her ability to make the mundane, day to day aspects of living in Sweden come to life, and fit into the wider infrastructures of the country.
With snippets of her personal and family experience sprinkled into the discussions, we all felt totally involved in learning as much as we possibly could.
Carol is a responsive, engaged and passionate guide to have with you on a discovery tour. A walking tour with depth!
We had a terrific tour with Carol. She was so knowledgeable and had so much to share. Definitely recommend her.Terrific guide
Carol made it possible to have our time together be a mix of historical places and contemporary dialogue on specific topics of interest to me: schools and education, housing, and Sweden’s mixed history in WWII. I couldn’t have gotten any of this from a canned tour. And as a bonus, we found a great place for dinner! Thank you Carolina, you made a huge difference in our stay.Engaging, fun, educational
We had an interesting morning with Carol exploring Gothenburg. She was interested to know more about us and our interests then tailored the tour accordingly. Carol is fascinated by Swedish culture and practices and had lots to share. We appreciated that Carol was open to questions and let us know when things we asked were beyond her knowledge. Customised tour
Prior to my cruise all I knew About Gothenburg was that it was the second largest city in Sweden and it had a great symphony Orchestra
We hired Carol to take us around
She was extremely friendly, very knowledgeable not just about her home city but the entire country
Her pleasant demeanor and warm approach made our walking tour of the city quite a pleasure
I would highly recommend her to anyoneGothenburg with Carol
We can’t rate our experience with Patrícia high enough. Her passion and love for her city shone through as she showed us parts of Gothenburg we would never have found on our own. It was a really enjoyable tour and would definitely recommend Patrícia as the go to guide for Gothenburg. Thank you Patricia. Fantastic tour with Patrícia
Carol was personable, knowledgeable and gave us a great walking tour around the city. Would definitely use her again!Great tour
We had a great tour with Patricia! She took us all around the city and we also Indulged in Sika which she made special with an anniversary cake and the famous cinnamon bun! We also got to experience true Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes with a beer. The tour lasted over 4 hours and Patricia was very interesting and informative throughout the time we spent. Highly recommend! Great Walking and Food Tour
What a disappointing experience. We could have forgiven Patricia for arriving 35 min late for our walk or the fact that she is not totally fluent in English but her lack of knowledge about Gothenburg and Sweden is inexcusable. Having paid E226 to be guided by a person who could answer few of our questions and who provided the minimum of information, left us feeling deprived of the opportunity to gather more info about Gothenburg, its history and its inhabitants. For most of the duration of the tour, it felt that we were simply just following a person who was showing us a walking route. This guide is not an asset to your company and based on this experience we will not be using your services again.Huge disappointment
It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with Carol, exploring Gothenburg and learning about the culture. Carol was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and country as well as introducing us to some interesting and delicious Swedish cuisine from salted licorice to amazing fish dishes. Thank you for a great tour. Fabulous
Our walking tour around Gothenburg, led by Carol, turned out to be an unexpectedly delightful afterwork experience. Carol's knowledge of the city's food delicacy, history, culture, and hidden gems made the tour both informative and engaging.
The pace was perfect, allowing us to taste the true flavours of food and know more about the city. It was a great way to unwind after work while learning something new. Whether you're new to the city or have been here for years, Carol's tour offers a fresh perspective. Highly recommended for a fun and informative team outing!A memorable afterwork experience
Our tour with Carol was amazing. We received a great variety of generous food tastings and much information about the city. We really enjoyed the time spent with Carol and she even took the time to guide us back to our shuttle bus for the cruise terminal. Thank you, Carol!Wonderul tour in Gothenburg
Patricia (originally from Portugal) provided the tour, was very helpful and tried to make anything possible. That was just superb!
But to our experiences (and we did a lot of food tours) I think the explanation what to expect at this tour needs to be clarified that travelers better know what they get for their money. All the food tours that we did before included several stops with little snacks here and there and a nice walk through town. Patricia provides a very nice tour through town as well but you will only stop at 3 different sites. At the first stop you get 4 pieces of different cakes and one drink, at the next stop 4 different fish meals and at the end meatballs which together makes the 10 dishes announced in the voucher. We found that a bit disappointing as we expected at least 8-9 different stops and dishes (based on all our experiences before) and only little snacks so that you can try a lot different things (and not 4 different types of cake).
And the price was comparably high.
At the first stop we got so much cake that I was full afterwards. Further, at some point we weren’t sure if she is well organized. She does not speak Swedish (not or not very well) and doesn’t seem to be in contact with the restaurants she visits with the clients. When we came to the first stop she said: „oh, it’s quite late, hope they still have this special sort of cake why we came here. Oh, and if not - I will bring you something else.“
In the end, we were lucky to get that food WHY we went there but seriously all other food tour guides had some kind of arrangements with the bars/restaurants that you get what you want and won’t have to wait. Same was with a ice cream shop we passed by. She told us that this ice cream was awarded the best in whole Sweden. Ok, cool! And why didn’t we go there and taste it?! Was not on the schedule. That was a bit surprising to us. And overall if the food tour just includes food that you can buy at IKEA (Fika cake, Hering and meatballs) maybe you don’t have to do a food tour. Swedish kitchen has much more to offer. Also, on every food tour we tried at least 2-3 different local beers, liquors or wines (also in other Scandinavian countries including Denmark and Finnland) - in Patricias tour alcoholic drinks were not included. This should also be mentioned for both people who don’t drink alcohol or expect to try some.
To sum up, it was a ok but not the best food tour and definitely needs a clearer description what customers can expect. If we knew that it was only three stops with lots of food per stop we wouldn’t have booked that tour.Food tour with only 3 stops
Patrícia was the most wonderful guide! She was patient and accommodating to our large and distracted group. Gracious and accomodating
I booked Patricia for both the Highlight and Hidden Gems tour and the 10 tastings. We decided to combine them and spent the day together. It was so much fun. We walked all over the city, sampled wonderful Swedish food and talked. We touched on history and culture. She is very nice. A great host.Fun Time In Gothenburg
Patricia did a great job with the tour. We got to try everything that we wanted to try and were able to see a lot of the city as well. She also gave us some good recommendations to tips of what to go do and see.
She was also super flexible with us when we had some members of our group get their flight cancelled. We were able to switch days of our tour at no cost for us. Great tour
We booked a tour in Gothenburg, Sweden on September 6,2023. We arrived at the Poseidon statue at the designated time and waited for over 20 minutes. I texted our guide Maria Clare and she said that she no longer worked for the company. I have tried to email the company to get a refund but I have not gotten a response...only a link to rate the tour.
I texted the guide again to see if she could give me a contact person at the office but she never responded!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!
They are impossible to contact...what a scam!
Hopefully American Express will have better luck in getting us a refund.
The worst part is that we only had one day in the city and we wasted a couple of hours with this nonsense.TOUR GUIDE DID NOT SHOW UP!!
Excellent and thoughtful tour guide. Great introduction to the city!
