My husband and I had a wonderful time with Ronnie (Sum Pui). He was engaging, fun to talk to, and very knowledgeable about both the current and historical aspects of Hong Kong. Throughout the tour, he also shared personal stories about growing up in the city, which gave us a deeper and more intimate understanding of Hong Kong’s culture and everyday life. He guided us around the city and took us to places we likely wouldn’t have discovered on our own. Angel was an amazing guide. We did the 3 hours Hong Kong central tour seeing the must sees and the hidden gems with 2 small children. Matteo was a very nice and personable guy, and we appreciated his friendliness throughout the tour. That said, the overall experience didn’t quite meet our expectations. It felt like the tour lost momentum about two hours in, even though we had booked a full three hours. It seemed like he had run out of ideas or places to take us, which left the last part of the tour feeling a bit aimless. We were hoping for a more engaging and well-paced experience from start to finish. Perhaps he was just having an off day, but overall the tour felt a little underwhelming. Having said that, Withlocals was great in their service recovery. When I replied to their email asking for our feedback, they were apologetic and offered us a voucher for our next tour.

Ronnie (Sum Pui) was very thorough and knowledgeable about the history of Hong Kong island, focussed on the areas around Sheung Wan and Soho. We thoroughly enjoyed the explanations around the many stores selling fish products, the history of the 'ding ding', the traditions of yum cha (which we took part in) and the crossover between British colonial influence and Chinese history. Ronnie was very generous with his time and no time did we feel rushed. This did feel like a tour with a local and not what you would get on a tour bus.Sum Pui the enthusiast!!

I hired tour guides during my many foreign tours. This time around, returning to visit HK, where I was born, I wanted a different experience. I wanted to see HK through another perspective. My wonderful guide Lok Yan did just that. I believe we were both surprised and bewildered by some of the gems of HK. That could have been due to the fact that I was not one of the typical tourist looking to visit some of the FAMOUS attractions. That's not an easy task for the tour guide. The interactions enriched, grew and enriched my appreciation and admiration of this unique piece of land and its culture. Yan's attributes made it happened. To say friendly and warm would be an understatement. I feel totally comfortable with her throughout the entire abrieviated tour. I am convinced that I made the right choice in hiring Lok Yan. I had a wonderful 3 hour tour with Angel. As a solo female traveler I only had one night in Hong Kong and this was definitely the best way to experience as much as possible in a short time. Angel took me to a great local Dim Sum restaurant, the food was delicious. I particularly enjoyed going to the temple. We walked around the city with Angel giving me lots of interesting information. Sum is one of the best tour guide I had on a trip. I think doing this tour is a must when in Hong Kong. We often tend to just want to get as many tourist spots as possible, but without appreciating the details and history of a place. Sum lets you immerse Hong Kong in its very core and I appreciate how much time we have spent which is worth every minute of this tour. There is no dull moment, but he also does not rush you into seeing all the sights as well. He has a good sense of humor, and a good command of the english language. Another good detail is that he really gets to know the person he is with, the nationality, and culture which is a good touch in my opinion. I’ll book him again when we get back to Hong Kong. A must when in Hong Kong!

Hace ya casi 3 meses desde que volvimos de nuestro viaje, y ayer de repente me vino un recuerdo de Hong Kong que me hizo sonreír. Pensé en un estupendo desayuno de dim sum tradicional al que nos llevó Angel, en un edificio que jamás habríamos encontrado nosotros solos. Mesas repletas de gente, carritos llenos de platos deliciosos a los que Angel perseguía para conseguirnos los bocados imprescindibles que probar, el ruido, el ambiente, gente por todas partes, y mientras disfrutábamos de cada bocado, ella nos iba explicando las tradiciones locales y asegurándose que nuestra hija de 4 años (de mal humor por el calor de la ciudad en pleno Agosto) estuviera contenta. Y recordé que todavía no había escrito una review por su estupendo trabajo. Nos sentimos muy cómodos con ella, como si estuviéramos hablando con una amiga que nos explicaba todos los secretos y costumbres de su cultura. Hicimos dos tours con ella, el de mercados nocturnos y snacks, y el de lugares emblemáticos y gemas ocultas, que modificó según nuestros gustos y preferencia, teniendo en cuenta que viajábamos con nuestra hija. Poder contar con el conocimiento de alguien nacido y criado en Hong Kong, te hace ver y entender la ciudad de una manera. Desde luego sin ella nuestros días en Hong Kong no hubieran sido ni la mitad de buenos, ya que es muy diferente pasear entre altos edificios que todos te parecen igual, a poder entender lo que estás viendo en cada momento. Mil gracias Angel! Y gracias por aguantar el mal humor de nuestra hija jejejeDía estupendo en Hong Kong!

Wing Wing, our fantastic tour guide, took us on an incredible walking tour of Hong Kong. We saw everything from ancient temples to modern skyscrapers, and learned so many interesting facts along the way. Wing Wing knows everything about Hong Kong. She showed us hidden gems, as well as the Instagram hit spots and recommended delicious local food, and even told us about her mother and her old sayings and beliefs. We visited an ancient temple, a fascinating souvenir shop, walked through markets, and got to experience the city's vibrant culture first-hand. The walking tour was pretty tiring, but it was totally worth it. Wing Wing's enthusiasm was contagious, and she made the whole experience so much fun. We booked Matteo based upon his other reviews, which were very positive. Perhaps we had Matteo on an "off day", but our experience was underwhelming. Our tour seemed to drift and was based more upon Matteo's low fitness level (and his desire to conserve energy for other tours) than a true plan. While we did learn some interesting things, we didn't get the locals experience that we were seeking. Unsatisfying tour

We really enjoyed our walking tour with Cosmo. He took us around Central old Hong Kong and Soho district. Nice mix of culture and information. We visited the Man Mo temple and traditional markets as well as popping into new museums. Cosmo answered lots of our questions about getting around Hong Kong. We saw lots we would probably not have noticed in our own. Well worth doing on day 1 of your trip. Cosmo paced the walking well and we got breaks from the heat going into air con museums. the walk through the city was great. Matteo could tell a lot of different stores about the history of Hongkong, the shops, the Tao-temple etc. He is enthousiastic in his descriptions. One point of critics: instead of treating us on a snack or logcal drink. He invited himself during the diner I had with my wife. Don't do that in the future to otter people anymore. it was a little bit werd.The citywalk was great.
