Choji is the best! We had an amazing time with him. He clearly knows and loves his city so much. He seems to know everyone in the commerical district and brought us to food spots that are actually hidden gems - we would have walked right past them if he hadn't stopped and pointed them out to us. I booked the "Highlights & Hidden Gems of Lima" tour with Carlos (approximately 3 hours) after living abroad for nearly 20 years. I brought my husband and two family members who are locals, and we all absolutely loved it! Carlos expertly guided us through the city in both English and Spanish, sharing fascinating insights that even the locals didn't know. We had a great time walking the old city with Ivonne. She knows the history and was able to answer our questions as we went along. We had an excellent tour of the old city in a way that helped us experience what old Lima must have been like. We liked the casual and flexible presentation. One little advice would be for her to face us directly when speaking so that we can hear better. Sometimes we were in a noisy environment and it was difficult to hear. The group would have liked to have had one opportunity to stop at a toilet during the tour as we were staying hydrated with water. The original meeting point instructions need to be updated, I think that's up to WithLocals and out of Ivonne's control. We easily texted arraignments to find a suitable meeting location for the start.We had a great time

Lorena showed us around downtown Lima, historical locations, shopping. We tasted Peruvian turron at the oldest bakery in Lima. We tasted churros and chicha, and ended the tour with Pisco Sours at the Maury Hotel bar. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend Lorena as a tour guide!! She also recommended restaurants for us to go to during our stay and even made reservations for us!! Lorena was awesome!

Muchas gracias Carlos, for a very informative tour. It was our first visit to Lima and the tour was a great way to learn about the history, architecture and development of the city. Carlos was very knowledgeable and used a map and some pictures to help us visualize where we were in the city and how it had grown over the years. The With Locals APP was very helpful since we could chat with our guide before the tour to get information on how to get to the meeting point, ask questions, etc. Thanks again Carlos for sharing your insight and some interesting, little known stories which made this tour very enjoyable. We learned about the architectural styles present in the area and the reasons for their existence based on earthquakes, history and politics. My husband and I toured historic central Lima with Alfredo. We had a wonderful tour. Alfredo was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Lima/Peru. We walked and talked for three hours, had a late lunch and finished with a delicious churro. We were able to see inside one of the beautiful colonial mansions and viewed the impressive changing of the guard in front of the presidential palace. I would highly recommend this tour with Alfredo. We encountered some unexpected closures due to COVID and political precautions but Carlos kept us moving while informing us of so much history. If you have an opportunity to book Carlos…jump on it! Ask him to tell the story of his paleontology dig in the Amazon…it’s pretty amazing. Outstanding!

We had a tour with Carlos and he kept our two teenagers invloved and interested for 3 hours non-stop. He not only was very knowledgeable about the history of Lima and Perú in general, but also knew about architecture, geology, local tales and current events. For example when we went to see the Iglesia de la Merce, he showed us the different types of stones that where used for the building and explained to us where these came from, so the kids and I got so much more information than we expected. Carlos, kept it fun and interesting and not only explained the history of Lima from teh virreinato, but also how Lima developed over the years, long before and after the virreinato. My husband kids, 18 and 14 years old and myself, had a blast with him at the 10 tasting of Lima and visiting the Convent of Saint Domingo. First, I dreamed of visiting Saint Martin de Porres, my favorite saint. And my husband wanted to try the flavors of the world-famous Peruvian food. My kids, teenagers, just wanted to have a good time, take pictures and a memorable trip. Fortunately, we´ve got everything! Choji´s punctuality was a 100% Started not with food, but with some geographical history that helped us to contextualize the tasting of Peru. Then, walking through downtown Lima, enjoying architecture and start tasting sweets and salties, amazing! My dreamed visit to Saint Martin de Porres and having the chance to talk to my family and Choji about the reasons for my esteem to that incredible human being, get to know this incredible convent with that impressive architecture that took our breath away, for me was the peak of the tour. I highly appreciate how respectful Choji was with my religion and beliefs. But my family peaks varied: Ana (18 years old) enjoyed trying tamales, very different from our country tamales. David (14 years old) loved the experience of being in a century restaurant and entering to the kitchen to salute the team. My husband loved the municipal market and talking about football with Choji. The places to taste Peru flavours were really hidden treasures of downtown Lima. Wouldn´t be possible to get there with google maps 😊 A wonderful downtown Lima day with Choji

Choji was an awesome tour guide. He was full of information about Lima and walked us around to neighborhoods, streets, restaurants, and areas that we would have never been able to do on our own. His historic knowledge was impressive and was the perfect way to start our Lima vacation. We loved visiting the alleys of Chinatown - we would have never found this and the food was delicious! We had a 10 hour layover at the Lima airport and thought it would be fun to see the city of Lima instead of sitting at the airport all day. Alfredo was kind enough to arrange for us to be picked up and dropped off at the airport which was a big plus. We enjoyed seeing the city of Lima through Alfredo's eyes. Before the tour Sandra was very diligent in replying as I developed the customized itinerary for our group of three. The answer was always “yes.” On the day of the tour she arrived promptly in a minivan with driver. She adjusted the itinerary right then to include something we wanted to add. Throughout she was friendly and cordial and extremely well informed about every subject we brought up. She is a lovely representative of her city and country. The tour was very expensive, though, and I know she doesn’t control that, but I wanted to explain my rating below. Highly Recommend
