Rita is very pleasant and told us some history of the city that we didn’t know. She took us to the glass dome with many shops. Told us about the Spanish influence and the area that they lived in. Walked by some beautiful churches and went into one that didn’t look like a church from outside. It was disturbing to see so much graffiti on buildings and walls. Ylenia wasn’t just any guide-she was a fountain of fascinating, off-the-beaten-path insights about Naples. Unlike other tours I had read about, she took us to hidden gems, including the lively Spanish Quarter, a vibrant maze of narrow streets bursting with local life, street art, and authentic Neapolitan culture. Another experience was a funicular ride that treated us to a breathtaking panoramic view of Naples. We met up with Rita to begin our tour on a beautiful March afternoon. Rita started the tour helping us get our bearings and giving us a great background on the history of Naples. Rita then took us on a tour through the busy streets of Naples pointing out so many points of interest. She is very connected to the area, there were many times when friends of hers would say hello. She knows the best spots of local treats and coffee. She has gotten us hooked on Sfogliatella, OMG they are so delicious! We had a great introduction to Naples with Nino. His approach was to educate us of why Naples is what it is today through its historical foundations. It was a very interesting technique which most could easily understand. As a foodie he moved seamlessly into giving an understanding of the development of the Napoleon food and wine culture. What a day we had with Gennaro! We travelled with a 4yo and 7mo so we wanted the tour to be a bit different than just visiting churches and museum and this tour was just what we wanted it. From visiting emerging neighbourhoods, food market, seeing how authentic Napoli pizzas are made…We tried some delicious food and drinks. Pizza, mozzarella Di buffalo, sfogliatelle, wine…. Just mouthwatering! Gennaro was very knowledgeable and also caring. He made sure toilet breaks and food breaks were included in the tour for our kids (and us too of course) and even suggested to change the time of our tour due to some protests happening, which would have made the experience not as relaxing. He even went the extra mile and dropped us back at the port with his car as it was raining. Thank you so much Gennaro for your knowledge, time and kindness and making our visit of Napoli so special and memorable. Can’t go wrong with Gennaro as your guide!

Rita was an excellent host, and so knowledgeable that she was easily able to tailor the tour to accommodate our dog. We saw exactly what we’d hoped for, the key sights of Napoli as well as some of the lessor known spots. She also capably answered all our questions, and was even happy to share some thoughts on where to visit as we travel further south in Italy. Rita was totally brilliant. As well as being utterly adorable, she was so knowledgeable and passionate about her city. As well as the fascinating history and architecture of the incredible city of Napoli, she gave us ideas of how to spend the rest of our trip (we went to Sorrento). She also told us about some of the local food and while she was surprised at the area we were staying, we managed to find a local restaurant near our hotel that served the delicious genovese she had described 😊 Cannot recommend highly enough and a private tour, while a little more expensive, is definitely the way to go.Absolute best way to Naples.

Genarro is the best With Locals guide we’ve ever had, and we’ve had quite a few. When we arrived in Naples it was raining and I had caught a cold so therefore didn’t want to pursue a walking tour. We had a group of eight of us on our historical walking tour and pizza-making class with Gennaro. I can't express how incredible our experience was! In all, we spent four hours with Gennaro, first with a walking tour of the Old Town, where we learned about the millenia of history that make Naples what it is today. We had two kids in our group, ages 10 and 12, and Gennaro did an exceptional job of making sure they followed everything and were involved in every detail (like when we went into a special shop that makes very unique Neapolitan nativities out of cork) and had all their questions answered. We learned about the historical gates of the city and went to the old fish and food market street. It seemed like everywhere we went, everyone knew Gennaro! He was kind, fun, and took every details into consideration and control, which was great in a city as busy and sometimes overwhelming as Naples! There are so many words that I can use to describe how amazing the pizza-making class was at Gennaro's apartment, but here are just a few: delicious, special, memorable, fun. I would take that class again! We all learned so much and enjoyed every moment of it. In all, I can't recommend Gennaro highly enough. Your group will enjoy your time with him! And we thank Gennaro for helping us with details that made our day in Naples even easier, such as helping to manage our luggage storage and transport. I give this tour a score of 100%!Unforgettable, delicious, amazing!

Initially we were considering taking the tour with the audio guide- but finally decided to have a tour guide and I am so happy we did. We scheduled a private tour for a small group of five. The tour ended up being one of the high points of our trip to Italy. I would highly recommend booking a private tour for Pompeii. There is so much to learn and so much ground to cover in a trip. Carlos was awesome! We couldn’t be happier with the visit. You will learn so much more with a private tour than going on your own. Carlos made the tour interesting for all ages in our group. Roberto’s food tour was the perfect way to sample the wide range of street food available. Over 3 hours Roberto guided us through the streets sharing his local knowledge of the history and food of Naples. Stopping and many of the vendors to taste their incredible food. We were only in Napoli for one night and this was a fantastic way to see some interesting sights, learn about the history of the city and sample some amazing food and drink in 3hrs. Roberto is so knowledgeable and is clearly a local celebrity. We tried authentic pizza, fried fish, ragu, buffalo mozzarella, rum baba and more. We are history enthusiasts that were keen to have a more detailed tour of Naples & its founding origins. For this reason we sort out a guide that had an in-depth knowledge of Naples history and not the basic history. Gennaro was charming, relaxed and comprehensive with our tour, accommodating my wife’s inability to walk long distances ( with frequent breaks at cafes.) Gennaro covered not just the written history but frequent anecdotes about historical figures and their influence in the city’s formation. Gennaro is an entertaining conversationalist.
