Heel blij met Jose Luis, We kwamen heel vroeg aan in Porto en hadden eigenlijk 16.00 u afgesproken, na kort berichtje was hij heel flexibel en kwam ons op vroegere tijd bij ons hotel ophalen ( hotel ligt erg cerntraal). Vol verhalen en veel geschiedenis weetjes loodste hij ons door de stad. Droge humor en heel ontspannen. We werden er heel enthousiast van om zelf de stad verder te gaan ontdekken. Een hele lijst met "must do's en eat" kregen we nog achteraf. Top zo op onze eerste dag in Porto!

We truly enjoyed our afternoon walking tour of Porto. Our guide André was friendly and very informative. The knowledge and interesting facts he shared were invaluable in providing historical context and enriching our visit to Porto. The only improvement I would offer is for the guides to have a sign, name tag or other identifying element. We arranged to meet André in a large plaza and we actually sat on a ledge next to him for a few minutes, waiting before either of us realized he was our guide. Hundreds of years of history in 3 hours.

We booked Victor for a 3 hour tour on our first day in Porto. Normally we manage on our own, armed with guidebooks and maps, but this time we thought we'd try a private tour, and we are so glad we did. Victor gave us an incredible insight into the city, its history, people and architecture. His knowledge is outstanding, and he answered every one of our many questions to perfection! He is also a very warm and friendly person with a great sense of humour, so it was an absolute joy to spend time in his company. We had a 3 hour tour with Jose Luis who kindly met us at the hotel a short time after we arrived in Porto. Jose Luis had a good command of English, spent his life in Porto, clearly loves the city, and is very knowledgeable about the history of Portugal. it was a most enjoyable introduction, particularly his explanation of the famous tiles in the train station depicting the turbulent history of Portugal, and the history of the various statues around the city. He was a delightful guide to spend 3 hours with, and I would thoroughly recommend his services. Mayumi is the best….. She was warm, welcoming, friendly, funny and keen to find out what we wanted to get out of our tour. We had lots of interesting discussions about history, contemporary times in Portugal, how we felt about the political situation and social issues from a personal level- and more. We had appropriate rest stops, coffee and pasta da nata generously shared by Mayumi. We extended way beyond our time, but it passed so fast. We’d book her again in a flash.
