We met Jorge recently near a monument in Tallinn for a three hour tour. He was gracious, charming and friendly. He knows about the Russian times, the Soviet times and now the Estonia times because he lives here and loves it. He is an historian, serious and amusing. Three hours is a lot of walking and talking but it flew by. We would recommend Jorge without hesitation !Great Tour with Jorge

My husband and I booked the "Highlights and Hidden Gems of Tallin" with Jorge just a few days ahead of our cruise stop at Tallin. Jorge made us feel very at ease right away. He listened to our conversation and noted that we like local markets, so that was our last stop. And it was great! We enjoyed every aspect of the tour and Jorge's story of the places he has lived was so interesting. We also especially enjoyed Jorge's choice of an ancient venue for a requested coffee stop. Anna spoke English adequately, however, most of the information she provided could have been found in any guide book. She was 15 minutes late, but kept up a running commentary on the traffic situation while we waited, but also she finished the 3-hour-tour half an hour early, because “we had covered all the listed topics”. All in all a rather a little disappointing. Average at best

I reached out to Paul several hours before our arrival in Tallinn thru the WithLocals chat. He did not respond to me. We arrived at the appointed time and place and waited an extra 15 minutes for Paul who was a no show. Fortunately we were able to participate in a free walking tour of the old town so all was not lost. Bottom line - do not chose Paul as your guide for any upcoming tours. No show Paul

Jorge gave us an incredibly great insight into Estonian history, Estonian culture and life in Tallinn on his tour. From the Middle Ages to the Soviet era and modern Estonia, he not only knew to tell an incredible number of stories and interesting details, but also explained some very interesting context. I like to use with locals as when you select a tour you have a chance to select your guide based on their profile and reviews. I like to pick locals and specifically picked Paul for that reason. He confirmed our booking Jan 5 for a tour May 31. When I reached out May 30 to say we were looking forward to meeting him the next day he informed me that he was busy and had passed us to another guide. We met with Peter who is an American who now lives in Estonia and while he was good he is not a guide I would pick as not a true local. We actually ran into Paul and Peter tried to introduce us but Paul basically brushed us off as he was busy with a food tour for at least 10 people. A much more lucrative tour I’m sure. Not impressed. So if you pick local Paul you may or may not end up with him depending on whether a more lucrative offer comes up.Talinn with an expat

We had a great morning with Jorge who moved to Estonia 30 years ago. He shared his deep knowledge of the history and took us through the old town. Our first stop was a parking lot! Where we could see the old bastions remains and we got into some spots other tourists didn’t know about. My wife and I (English-speaking) booked this five-hour tour because we had limited time in the city but were very interested in its history, both medieval and modern. Jorge surpassed any expectation we could have had. He had that Furkan Gokcel (IFYKYK) energy that we always hope for in a guide. We used every bit of five hours exploring noteworthy parks, monuments, and structures. He is extremely knowledgeable about history and culture. Jorge also helped us avoid the cruise ship crowds through careful timing and maneuvering. We highly recommend this for a couple or group that values local insight & a historical lens on the city. We had a wonderful 5 hrs tour with Jorge- he immediately understood what we wanted to see and gave us an incredible tour of the City incorporating a lot of history, art, architecture and local culture. We walked, took the tram, went to old coffee shops even off the beaten track churches which we loved. We expected to get two hours with some stops at a few restaurants/cafeterias and to get a deeper understanding about Estonian food culture. We got 1,5 hour, with a marzipan in an apothecary and some cake in a cafeteria. The other tastings were brought by the guide in a bag to eat outside; a homemade sandwich and some biscuits and cheese from the supermarket. Given the price, we felt very much cheated. We would not recommend this tour expecting to learn more about the food culture in Estonia. We always find food tours a great way to get to know a city and a country; this one was not.This tour was s big disappointment

Tallinn is a fascinating city steeped in history, and we were eager to have a guide to help us explore its rich heritage. Our guide led us to hidden gems that I hadn’t come across in my readings, as well as some well-known sites. Before booking, I was unfamiliar with WithLocals and was uncertain about the level of expertise and professionalism we could expect, particularly given the cost (a private tour for two was more affordable than paying for just one person in a larger group of 20 on other tours we took during our Northern Europe trip). We met Jorge for our private tour of Taillin this week. The tour lasted 2 hours and was a perfect introduction to the city. Jorge did a wonderful job introducing us to Tallinn. The day began with Jorge kindly meeting us at the ferry terminal. We walked over to Old Town and he gave us a thorough & thoughtful tour. Well Paul the guide never messaged us prior to arrival, then no showed us. His phone was off and later we finally got a message saying “Sorry I was ill”. Thats it. Only apologizes after I complain to WithLocals. Even if sick a notice would have been nice. Considering we only had one day and I paid two months ago, and he was to pick us up from the boat, a little notice would have been nice. I still have not gotten a refund, and I paid over $380. Not sure how this guide has 5 stars. Ive never been no showed before. Terrible experience. Be careful. No showed us, terrible experience
