We spent our first full day in Venice with Adair, and it was the perfect introduction to the city. She helped us get oriented, showing us both the must-see highlights and hidden local spots off the beaten path. Adair was warm, engaging, and made a real effort to include everyone in the conversation — from our 13-year-old daughter to our mother-in-law. She thoughtfully customized the tour to avoid bridges as much as possible, which was incredibly helpful since we had a wheelchair with us. (Yes, Venice is manageable with a wheelchair — especially if the person can handle steps and someone is available to carry the chair over bridges.) We had the most incredible tour of Venice with Giada, and we cannot recommend her highly enough. From the very beginning, she was an absolute lifesaver. We were battling some serious jet lag and still trying to navigate the vaporetto system, which was going to make us late for our scheduled meeting. Without a moment's hesitation, Giada was incredibly personable and accommodating, meeting us at a much closer, easier-to-reach location at the very last minute. Upon arrival, our immediate need was coffee, and Giada was so kind and understanding. She not only helped us find a fantastic local shop for our much-needed caffeine fix but also made sure we were comfortable before starting our adventure. What truly set Giada apart was her approach to the tour itself. She genuinely offered choices on what we wanted to see and do, making the experience feel personalized and tailored to our group's interests. Throughout the tour, she struck the perfect balance of insight, sharing fascinating details about Venice without overwhelming us. She chatted with us in such a friendly and engaging manner as we walked, making us feel like we were exploring with a good friend rather than a guide. Rocco's tour of St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace in Venice was very informative and enjoyable. His explanations of the artwork, architecture, and room functions of both the church and the palace were highly contextualized from the perspective of the Doges of Venice, which helped us to imagine life during the times of the Doges. Our day with Valerio was amazing! After meeting at the local fish market, we went to his home on murano to prepare a meal. It was delicious and so fun to feel like a local. Our tour of murano included stops to learn about glass blowing. Our daughter got to make her own glass bead and then we toured a glass showroom which was beautiful.
