Our afternoon in Kadikoy was exactly what we hoped for. Rather than a “tour”, it was like meeting an old friend for food, drinks, conversation and an afternoon stroll. Ceren was friendly, courteous, professional and very easy to talk to. We had a lovely evening with Ceren in Kadıköy. Kadıköy is a very vibrant and hip district in an already amazing city. We honestly would not have been able to experience it in such depth without her. Ceren took us from some of the different high streets to the waterfront, enjoying sips and bites as we went. She shared insights, history and stories as we walked, providing additional color and depth to our experience. After four days in Istanbul, this tour was the perfect way to cap off our time. We had a wonderful time with Ceren, going to local favorites in Kadakoy. She made us fall in love with the Asian side of Istanbul. It was great to visit the local shops and try delicious street food. Ceren is very knowledgeable, honest and very patient. She loves her guide work and does it with passion, and thats what matters and differentiate her from others, in my opinion. My “hipster tour” with Ceren was awesome! Even though several stores and restaurants were closed due to Covid regulations, Ceren STILL managed to make this time memorable. I honestly forgot I was on a tour and felt like I was just catching up with a friend I haven’t seen in years:-) On top of her easy going personality, she was very knowledgeable about the area. We found some pretty cool murals, which was one of many of my favourite parts of the tour. We laughed, people watched, shared great convo, and ate delicious street food. This was by far one of the highlights of my trip to Istanbul! Awesome

The Kadikoy tour started with a ferry across the strait. We were definitely the only tourists onboard standing in the cold enjoying the Incredible Istanbul evening view. Caren greeted us at the ferry terminal and walked us through the narrow back streets full of fish shops, restaurants and bars. Some locals even tried to start a conversation with us with the translation of Ceren. Later we wandered to the quiet sea side and got updated with some local history, politics and culture - she even gave us an introduction to the Istanbul’s football clubs rivalries. We ended the tour with a drink of Raki and local beer. Caren was professional, responsive and very easy going. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to go beyond the must-see spots. Ceren runs a wonderful tour of the local food and bars around Kadikoy. The sights might be on the European side, but the Asian side has an amazing buzz and was great to see how the locals enjoy their spare time. This tour is whatever you make of it. Ceren is very sweet and is happy to show you any part of Kadikoy that you are curious about. There is so much to see and experience in this part of town that my only advice is to make this tour your own. Maybe you want to walk around and sample the street food. Maybe you want to focus on one location for a long night of food and drinks. Or maybe like me, you’d just rather go to whatever bar or lounge the locals like hanging out in and doing exactly as they do.
