We decided to do a last minute visit to Valencia whilst on holiday. I contacted Danny through the “withlocals” site. He got back to me quickly and we agreed a meet. We had a great couple of hours! The tour of the history of the city was interesting without being too dry for the teenager. It was a brilliant way to explore the city on our short visit. Danny was engaging, humorous and well informed, even adapting the route to encompass a stop for chocolate y churros as requested by the teenager! Overall a brilliant experience. Danny took us on a super tour around central Valencia. He gave us a great overview of Valencia's ancient history -- the Romans, the Moors and the Christians. He pointed out loads of fascinating architectural details that we would not have noticed and brought them to life with stories from the past. He also gave us tips on local drinks and good bars to visit. We subjected Danny to some of our dad jokes and he responded in kind. We had just landed on Valencia the night before and really knew very little about it’s history. Danny gave us an excellent tour covering parts of the Roman, Moorish, and Christian periods. We also learned a lot about Valencia during the Spanish Civil War. He was very animated and willing to answer questions. I met Danny on the first full day in Valencia. Danny was able to provide me with a blend of the two tours I was insterested in regarding the historical past of Valencia. Danny was very informative about the history of the city from its discovery through to the Spanish Civil war - taking me on a walking tour to key monuments, landmarks and museum exhibitions around the old town of Valencia. For me, it was perfect as I only had read the brief history of Valencia in a tour guide. Just visiting these sites in person has great sentimental value with an excellent tour guide. In addition, Danny was able to provide me with further places to explore that weren't related to the tour which I was able to find easily after the tour. I highly recommend Danny for his excellent guidance of Valencia's old town. Informative historical tour with Danny

Danny was very personable. He has an incredible awareness of the history of Valencia. He pointed out many things we were unaware of. However, we booked specifically for a tour relating to the Spanish Civil War which was clearly not his area. He had some basic information but not much detail. Unfortunately this guide didn’t respond my messages or phone call, and was a no call no show. This caused me disappointment and wasted money — not just the cost of the tour which hasn’t been refunded, but also the cost of the hotel and airfare difference I wasted staying an extra day just to do this tour. Danny did the perfect job introducing Valencia to our family that included (and at times inpatient) 3 kids. Besides educating us with the rich history, he was patient, accommodating, and friendly. Most importantly we NEVER felt rushed and he slowed down to matched our kids pace (Starbucks and candy were also a highlight :-) due to the super hot summer heat. Our kids can be a bit shy with strangers, but Danny kept them involved, had jokes, made it interactive and by the end of the tour he completely won them over! Thank you Danny for your passion and talent! After the tour my kids said “mom he was pretty good, he deserves not 5 but 10 stars!” Just whay we needed!

We enjoyed our Hemingway walking tour with Danny. He provided nice insights on Hemingway and his time in Valencia. Using a well prepared notebook, he showed us pictures of Hemingway in Valencia, read quotes from Hemingway correspondence and showed us pictures of buildings where Hemingway spent time (as we stood in front of them). He also gave us insights on Valencia overall, both historical and cultural aspects. Danny was patient answering all of our questions and also gave us some recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. We are both literary fans so enjoyed this tour and would recommend it to other literary fans. Enjoyalble and informative Tour

We arranged a walking tour with Danny. Being a native English speaker was a bonus for us as Canadians. He knew his way around and was able to point out the key features and little details such as the images portrayed in the stone corners of the church. He took us to a traditional cafe where we had churros and chocolate. Yum! FYI: Danny we went back to repeat the experience.
