My wife, son and I had a wonderful time being hosted by Claudia and Giovanni for the evening! They picked us up at the train station and brought us to their home where we made gnocchi and had fun chatting and learning about Italian culture. Our cooking class consisted of gnocchi and pasta making. This was our request at the time of booking the experience. During the evening we learnt so much about using the right ingredients, the preparation process, the different types of pasta shapes, etc. It was a hands on experience that allowed us to prepare and cook dinner for all to enjoy at the end. The satisfaction we got from knowing we had produced an incredible tasty and authentic meal was rewarding in itself. This class surpassed our expectations. We met one of the loveliest people you could possibly ever meet. And we really mean that. Giovanni and Claudia made us feel at home and as if we were part of the family. They went above and beyond in ensuring we had an amazing evening. If you are looking to learn how to cook an Italian dish from an authentic Italian chef that oozes passion when he talks, then this is a experience not to be missed. We shared lots of stories, laughter, had a glass of wine and ate the different dishes that we had prepared ourselves during our class. This was an amazing night in Rome. I wanted to book a cooking class for my wife and I during our honeymoon in Rome, but my wife has peanut and nut allergies so a public class was not an option. Giovanni and Claudia were able to accommodate for that in a private class and we had a great time. They are very kind hosts and we had a lot of fun cooking and dining with them. The experience will be one of our most memorable from our trip to Italy. Do not hesitate to book. My best friend and younger brother and I cooked with Francesco and Claudia. We met them at a train station and they picked us up to go to their home. It was so fun! We made gnocchi and had several different sauces, ate salad, and dessert. Francesco and Claudia are so nice and hospitable! Passing along his family recipes, Francesco showed us how to make gnocchi and then invited us inside the kitchen to help assemble the sauces. What a perfect way to spend an evening. Not only did I learning to make gnocchi from the maestro (and how to store it when I inevitably make too much), but I also got to sit and talk with Claudia and Francesco about a wide range of topics, from garden politics to Charlemagne. So many times, people will write these reviews that are so glowing with what happened that others will read them and wonder if they are real. This will be one of those reviews! It truly did happen and was the PERFECT way to end our Roman Holiday! Our new family from a different mother, John and Claudia, are both such warm and welcoming people. They made us feel comfortable and wanted immediately. Claudia shared with us some of the local history and really knows so much about it - she even offers the insider knowledge of where to find the truly amazing things to see to give a better understanding and appreciation for where you are. John is the most meticulous of chef's and has a mastery of all food Italian that is impressive to say the least. They let us customize what we made that day with them beforehand to make it something truly unique. The extra hints about what should be prepped in an order that let's you take what you have learned and convert it into preparing a meal when you get home as you normally would. Our regret is that we should have done this FIRST to gain more insight into the culture and the food that plays such an important role in the Italian experience and daily life. To John and Claudia, our new brother and sister, I cannot say thank you enough for giving us our most lasting memory that will forever capture our holiday in Rome! We had scheduled making tortellini for our dinner with these great locals. They even modified for my dietary needs 😊 It was an unforgettable night! They have their own organic 🪴 so my salad was so fresh! Everyone else had pasta for an appetizer … yes pasta first! 2nd course was chicken with sweet peppers from their 🪴 & a side of roasted potatoes. We had the best time with Claudia and Giovanni. Claudia graciously accommodated our party of five. We were warmly welcomed into their charming home and we felt like we were part of their family by the end of the evening! Giovanni showed us how to make two kinds of pasta, one stuffed with spinach and ricotta, tossed with butter and sage and the other tossed with tomato and basil. Perfection! Giovanni shared the recipe with us before leaving and we are hoping to be able to recreate this meal in our own home upon returning from our trip. After making pasta we had an added bonus of having two students join us for dinner and it felt like we were at a traditional Sunday Italian meal with a big family and so much good food.
