We had a GREAT experience doing the “Jews and Gentiles in Barcelona” tour with Teo! She shared historical information, remains of actual locations and many wonderful anecdotes. Teo really brought the existence of Barcelona’s Jews throughout the ages to life for us! Her delightful personality and vibrant energy kept us interested and totally engaged throughout our time together. An added bonus was our visit to the Christmas market where Teo explained the meaning of unique customs and traditions celebrated in Spain! A Teo had a wealth of information about the history of the Jewish community of Barcelona. She showed us many sites. Unfortunately the old synagogue is no longer open for visits. However A Teo compensated for this by having alot to tell and show us. She was very personable and gave us a wonderful tourinformative tour of the Jewish quarter

We booked a semi custom tour with Argelia last minute. She was very responsive and accommodating to our schedule. She was extremely knowledgeable about history, the city and took the time to walk and explain so much! The leisurely walk was through the Jewish quarter (Gothic) of Barcelona, and was most informative. We are so pleased that we did the walk with her, as she is a colourful character and she brought the past to life. Her dialect was difficult to start with, but we soon became accustomed to it. Teo was warm and friendly. Anxious to share what is a very old culture/religion and has lots of knowledge of the current Jewish community as well. Because of the break in 1492, everything Spain has been unearthing has been prior to that and not recovered/respected until 500 years later. Thank you to the Olympic Games of 1992 and Spain for apologizing for their forefathers! Putting the puzzle pieces of the old Jewish neighborhoods together was fascinating. We did the 2hr tour about Jewish heritage with Teo and it was a pleasant and stimulating history of Barcelona in particular about the Jewish community throughout the centuries, including Roman times. With a lot of surprising locations and details we otherwise would have completly missed. Teo gives you information in an engaging manner, with humour, has a good sense of her audience and answered any question we had, also outside of the specific topic of the tour. We took the WW2 Spy tour and Teo was a wealth of very interesting information. Spain may have been officially neutral, but it was not neutral at all. We loved the connection of her great grandfather and the spy/double agents. She has maps, photos, documentation that she shares. However, it wasn’t just WW2, when we were at Passeig de Gràcia, she gave detailed explanations of Casa Battlló (Gaudí), Casa Museu Amatller (delicious hot cocoa), and Casa Lleó Morera. We wanted a mostly WW2 tour with a little architecture too. Very highly recommended tour! Teo, a Great Guide and Historian!

Teo gave us a very informative tour of the gothic quarter. She took us into shops and explained the history/unique architecture of places the average tourist would walk by, and have no idea the historical significance or story of that spot is. This is the only type of tour you can get from a local, that really knows Barcelona. I would recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your trip, so you can return to places you saw on tour that you would like to spend more time at. Informative - not your typical tour!

Our host was a great guide for the area of the Gothic quarter and Jewish quarter, with a wonderful grasp of the history from the Romans to today.
