Romain was our guide for a day around Bangkok exploring local markets, temples and the seaside. We had to spend a day in Bangkok between two flights at the end of an island holiday and we wanted to do something fun and interesting to learn more about Thai culture and way of life without going into the hustle and bustle of the big city. It was the perfect choice for us both in terms of the guide and the experience. Romain is very friendly and kind and he was very accommodating with our schedule and itinerary. We had a great communication before we met and during the visit and we saw really interesting places without getting into tourist crowds. He is a very knowledgeable and pleasant companion and and he will make sure you spend a great time in your pace and tailored to your needs. Highly recommend! The trip is definitely worth it. Great to get out of the noise and chaos of the city for a few hours and experience another side to Bangkok. The trip takes you through a typical jungle like experience and gives you a glimpse of life before the 'concrete jungle' arrived. Romain was a great host. He knows the culture and his love of Thailand and its people is evident. Romain made it feel as if the tour was tailor made for me and my interests. We had a 2 day exclusive tour with Romain. He tailored our days to suit us perfectly. We saw all the sites of interest and much more besides. He knew of some places to take us that were away from the crowds and so we feel we got to see ‘the real Bangkok’. Romain was a great guide. Picked us up at stated time at hotel. Took us to some non tourist areas and witnessed local Thai people (and wildlife). Very knowledgable about Thailand and Bangkok. Was a full day out and very enjoyable. Only negative- car wasn't that comfy in back( not much room for 3 adults) as didn't anticipate we would be in car for so long) and was extremely hot as air conditioning wasn't that effective in the back. . Would suggest that guides perhaps carry complimentary bottles of water for guests( we took our own thankfully) would recommend ' with locals' and Romain again but more suitable car would make experience much better. J'ai fait avec Romain l'excursion des Local Suburbs, dans la mangrove au sud de Bangkok et à Amphawa. J'étais enchantée de ma journée, qui m'a permis de voir de mes yeux un poisson qui marche sur la terre, un rescapé de l'évolution, des macaques crabiers, des crabes singuliers, et des oiseaux..... Par ailleurs, Romain est une mine de renseignements sur la Thaïlande d'aujourd'hui, où il vit depuis 9 ans, et nos conversations se sont révélées très intéressantes. Plus, son esprit : "voyager comme avec un ami", est pleinement respecté, et c'est à regret qu'on le quitte après le tour. J'ai passé une journée parfaite qui restera dans ma mémoire.La Thaïlande comme si vous y viviez

Romain and our family connected very quickly. Romain was prompt even with Bangkok traffic being intense. Romain had selected a nice agenda for a day around Bangkok including several temples, canal tour, behind the scenes inside the walls of one of the Forts, stopping by an artist community and finally a tour at the Thomson House..we hustled around the city by Tuk Tuk, a bit of walking and of course by long boat...By having this time with a local we could get a feel for life in Bangkok plus ask as many questions which came to our kid's minds..Finally Romain was patient and kind each time we stopped for family photo, allowingfor some time to gawk at the local life and participating in activities at the Temples. To top off the day we even saw Prayer session at one of the Temples. The only thing we regret was how quickly we rushed off so we could visit a nearby site our kids were excited to see (Husky House). Pour visiter des temples, découvrir la culture et l'histoire du pays, un bon guide papier ou informatique peut faire l'affaire, mais pour découvrir des coins insolites, des quartiers anciens et voir un maximum de choses différentes sans se perdre, un local bien informé est indispensable. My Wife another friend and I recently visited Bangkok for the first time. We only had one day in which we could get a tast of what Bangkok could offer and fortunately for us we got Romain to give us a glimpse of what Bangkok is. His local knowledge is a credit to him, we spent time in a floating market experiencing the tastes, smells and the life of the locals who trade and shop there. We had a very interesting time seeing different aspects of Bangkok mostly away from the tourist hotspots . Although we did a lot of walking it was worth it . We did have two boat rides between the two main areas we visited . Along the way we batted about a wide variety of subjects and learnt a lot about Thai life. As ever it's always interesting trying to get under the skin of a country rather than just stick to the standard tourist highlights . Bangkok It was a difficult trip in that we were met at the port which was quite a long distance into Bangkok. The car was suitable for the 2 of us. It had a noise in the back that made it difficult to hear what was being said. However despite that it was a pleasant trip into the city. The king's death meant that we needed to be in black or white. In hindsight I would have preferred to put my black top on. After stopping for Petrol, we went to a very interesting village markets - we were the only non local people there other than a film crew doing something for channel 7. So it was truly local and fun. We went back to the city where we went to the Temple Wat Pho. Due to the crowds we took a Tuk Tuk which gained us quicker access. Everyone was on the street as there was free food. We enjoyed the peace of the temple surrounds and the reclining Buddha. We left the temple and went to a restaurant called the Deck which overlooked the old Royal temple which was being restored as well as the old palace. The meal was delicious and we enjoyed a local beer in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Once we finished our meal we took a tuk tuk to the car and off back to the ship. We were running a little earlier and I asked Romain to go to see a beach village. Romain was most obliging however the traffic made is very difficult and we only got back to the ship on time to leave. It was stressful. This was due to some difficulties finding where the ship was able to be accessed. Over all a very good day but not the one that we had thought we would have had. We were also pleased that the other couple booked on this tour had not been able to come as the vehicle would not have taken 4 adults comfortably. I would recommend the tour to a couple but not for a group of 4 unless a larger vehicle was hired.Tour with Romain

Great tour. The train time had moved from 1:30 to 2:30, and to ensure we got to see the market pack up as the train went by, he was dynamic with his change in plans so we wouldn't miss anything. Moreover, when we were shopping at the market, he was kind to let us take our time. He was also intelligent, well informed, and insightful when answering our questions or explaining things to us. My son and I had a memorable time with Romain in Bangkok. We first did the Old and New China Town tour with him. I would really recommend it to all of those who want to get to know the real city, going beyond the most touristic and famous sites. We visited beautiful and hidden temples, we got to see how locals live, and visited charming traditional residential neighborhoods, we got deep into the madness of the ChinaTown markets, we visited the lovely flower market... The experience was so good that we decided to visit the ancient city of Ayutthaya with him a couple os days later. Again, we had the most amazing experience. Romain is a calm and sensitive guide. Romain was and is great host. He was early at the hotel and had a good run to the city. We visited more places than we thought we would at the pace we wanted to go. Romain is knowedgable and easy going. Very patient and a very nice guy. Wonderfull experience. In contrast with Bangkok city a very relaxing, quit, nice bike tour in the green mostly in the shade under the trees.
