I booked a tour of Sagrada Familia with Alessandro as a way to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. It was his first time in Spain and I wanted to do something really special on the big day. I had never before scheduled a private tour without going through a hotel concierge so I wasn't sure what to expect, but am SO glad that I went this route and will definitely do so again in the future! Alessandro is kind, knowledgable, and passionate about history, art and culture. He made our time fun, interesting and incredibly memorable. We went wine tasting and to Montserrat with Elvira. It was a really cold day, but I can't blame that on Elvira. Despite the cold we had a lovely day. Good wine and interesting conversation with both Elvira and the young owner of the winery. The monastery was also nice, and I think we will come back on a warmer day. Elvira knows a lot and shares her knowledge in an inviting way as she is also clearly interested in what we said. Very interesting to hear about the history of Catalonia. The car was not really suited for elderly people After the trip Elvira sent suggestions for other excursions and recommendations for restaurants. Can only recommend Elvira

We did the 10 tastings of Barcelona with Elvira. As a family of four ( 2 adults and 2 kids (10 and 13), we had very different preferences for food. She adjusted quickly and made sure we had a great tour. As it was our first day in Barcelona, and we were very jet-lagged, we were not as hungry as we should have been for such a tour, so she quickly pivoted and included some walking and historic tour of the City. We had the best day with Elvira - she was so accommodating and knowledgeable. She took us to the usual parts of the Abby but also to the newly opened museum that no one seemed to know about - it was like a private showing! From the Abby to the winery she took us on back roads so we could see more of the areas natural beauty. The winery was fantastic - small, intimate with amazing Catalonian wine. Alessandro's knowledge of Barcelona's history (and of that of the Mediterranean) spans mediaeval through to present day. He expanded in more detail when asked about particular issues. We walked around the city and he described the past and current function of a variety of places and buildings. Where past infrastructure has been lost, he would describe where it had been, eg the Roman wall. Look 1.5hrs is just not enough. If you are considering a booking, try for a longer tour. A great guide, can't recommend him enough.In the depths of history

We took this tour as a family of five (three children ages 14,12 and 10) Alessandro was very patient and worked hard to keep the kids engaged as we went along. Our son is very interested in history and found the tour particularly interesting. The focus was on the history and influences that have shaped the old town of Barcelona.
