We had an incredible walking tour of Old Town Dubrovnik with Marco in June 2025. From the moment we met him, Marco was warm, engaging, and full of fascinating stories that brought Dubrovnik’s rich history and culture to life! What made this tour truly special was Marco’s ability to take us off the beaten path. While we did visit some of the city's most iconic landmarks, he also led us through quiet alleys, hidden courtyards, and scenic viewpoints that most tourists completely miss. From start to finish, Marko brought incredible energy, humor, and deep local knowledge to every step of the experience. Hearing his personal stories about growing up in Dubrovnik—including his memories of the 1991 bombing and life during the war—was something we’ll never forget. That first-hand perspective gave so much meaning to everything we saw and made the city come alive in a way no guidebook ever could. Marko is a natural storyteller, full of personality and warmth. He kept our group—including teenagers—completely engaged and laughing throughout the tour. His recommendation to start early was spot on—we beat the heat and the crowds and had seen so much by noon that it felt like we gained an extra day of vacation! We had the most incredible day exploring Dubrovnik with Marko as our tour guide! From start to finish, he was friendly, knowledgeable, and so much fun to be around. We started our day walking the iconic city walls, and Marko brought the history of Dubrovnik and Croatia to life, answering our many many questions with enthusiasm. And gave the Game of Thrones fans among us some info too! After the city, we headed out to Lokrum Island for a really fun lunch at nice restaurant where we accidently fed the wild peacocks some lunch and then had fabulous kayaking tour with Marko showing us beautiful coastal caves and getting to do some cliff jumping. Excellent introductory tour to the beautiful Old City of Dubrovnik. Interesting references to the War of the 1990’s from someone who remembers it well and can explain his own feelings and experiences. The Old City is very busy, even in early June, so I would recommend an early morning visit if possible, definitely if you’re doing the City Wall walk. Fascinating, enjoyable tour.

Marko was an awesome tour guide, and I highly recommend him. We had been to Dubrovnik before, but he showed us this gem of town through the eyes of a local who clearly loves living there. Marko was funny, personable, and extremely knowledgeable. One of the best stops was to the home of a local in the Old Town to sample her home baked goods, spices, and candied nuts and orange peels. Marko made the whole experience worthwhile. His suggestions and local knowledge ensured we got to see the best of Dubrovnik. It was a pleasure to have seen it through his eyes. He communicated prior to us meeting through WhatsApp and ensured he covered all of the things we wanted to do and see. He even used his own car to transport us around, which was spotlessly clean. An added touch was the thoughtful bottle of water he provided for us and he also treated us to refreshments halfway through the tour. We had only a day and a half in Dubrovnik and needed someone to give us an overview upon which we could make the most of our time in the city. Marko more than filled that need. Born and raised in the city, with a passion for its history, culture, and arts, we spent three hours learning our way around the city and identifying places for further exploration on our own in the time we had left. As a Dubrovnik native, Marko was incredibly knowledgeable about Croatia, the city and its history. He told us remarkable and personal stories about the 1991-92 war and its effect on Croatia. He was flexible so that he easily tailored the tour to meet our needs. Besides Dubrovnik (and yes Game of Throne scenes), we went to Mount Srd for scenic views and Lokrum, a beautiful bio-diverse island. Marco exceeded our expectations. He lead us through Dubrovnik with great history, funny stories and patience. Our large group of 14 was grateful for the transportation from our cruise port to the city gates. Marco helped us shop, arranged for a tour of Lokrum island.
