Experience hosted by Michael
On this tour around Greenwich Village, we will visit historic sites where revolutions began, riots were sparked, and history was made. We will see common threads within the LGBTQ+ generations who have lived life in New York City, sharing their stories throughout the tour. You’ll also learn more about individual stories of Queer activists and the major political and social movements that have shaped the LGBTQ+ community over time. Sites include the historic Stonewall Inn, the Gay Liberation Monument, the NYC AIDS Memorial, the LGBT Community Center, and more.

Hi! I'm Michael, the founder and owner of Christopher Street Tours, an LGBTQ+ walking tour company. All of our tours are LGBTQ+-themed and led by local queer educators, activists, and storytellers.
I moved to NYC in 2016 to be a writer. I was working on a historical fiction novel about the Stonewall Riots. I never published the book, but in 2018, I turned all of my research into an LGBTQ+ walking tour of NYC's Greenwich Village. Since then, I've welcomed tens of thousands of people from all over the world who are interested in seeing queer history first-hand and learning about the incredible stories of those who paved the way before us.
I live in Queens with my husband and dog, and when I'm not out on the tour route, I love going to Broadway shows, trying new restaurants, and exploring everything the city has to offer!
