Michael's Village Pride walking tour of Greenwich Village was fabulous and engaging. Michael is articulate and has taken his deep understanding of LGBTQ history and facts and turned them into a cultural experience that resonated for us. He is patient and allows the tour to be interactive among the participants and also keeps on track to share historical facts and data that include great stories. It was a time for me of laughter, tears and appreciation that our culture is not forgotten. Thank you Michael for sharing and representing LGBTQ history in this informative, enlightening and positive way.Fabulous and Engaging

Michael was an amazing guide. He is so energetic, friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. It is an absolutely pleasure listening to him share his passion through stories, photos, locations, monuments, street names and even the people we run into along the way while on the tour. It felt like visiting your favorite neighbourhood with your best friend and just telling each other stories about the important LGBTQ+ history of Greenwich Village and the role its inhabitants played in the uprisings that lead to the modern LGBTQ+ movement. This tour is great for members of our community, allies, to share with groups of friends or families, adults, children, or for anyone who just wants a deeper insight into the history of LGBTQ+ life in Greenwich Village.Like Visiting Your Favorite Neighbourhood with Your Best Friend

Michael is a knowledgeable and generous guide for a walk through Pride history. New Yorkers and visitors alike are lucky to be surrounded by physical reminders and access to first-hand oral history of important Pride events and the evolution of enlightened thinking on this aspect of human life. His insights and encouragement to explore our own thoughts and connections to the history and the path forward are inspirational. And fun.For New Yorkers and Visitors Alike

More about me

Hi! I'm Michael, the founder and owner of Christopher Street Tours, an LGBTQ+ walking tour company. All of our tours are LGBTQ+-themed and led by local queer educators, activists, and storytellers.

I moved to NYC in 2016 to be a writer. I was working on a historical fiction novel about the Stonewall Riots. I never published the book, but in 2018, I turned all of my research into an LGBTQ+ walking tour of NYC's Greenwich Village. Since then, I've welcomed tens of thousands of people from all over the world who are interested in seeing queer history first-hand and learning about the incredible stories of those who paved the way before us.

I live in Queens with my husband and dog, and when I'm not out on the tour route, I love going to Broadway shows, trying new restaurants, and exploring everything the city has to offer!
