We had a lovely experience with Gennaro and his ohana ! He took us around Napoli showing us some beautiful areas we would have missed had we not been with him. We are a young couple on our early 30s from Spain. We did two amazing tours with Gennaro, one by walking and one by car, the first at the historical centre of Naples (including the Decumani, Pignasecca market and the Quartieri Spagnoli, plus recommendations for other areas) and the second outside of the city, through the Amalfi coast. It was our first time doing something like this, and Gennaro has exceeded all our expectations. We visited Napoli for 3 days; we heard so good about Napoli: its history, food and authenticity! We start looking for some tours, was plenty of guides and sites, but finally we found Gennaro and we booked a pizza class with him on this site! What makes pizza different in the place where it was born? Find out in just a few hours by letting Gennaro walk you through each step, including visiting the outdoor market for some ingredients (and recommendations for where to eat later in your trip). Due to some technical difficulties, we did our pizza making in an actual pizzeria kitchen in their off hours. In a way, it was a bonus, because we had both Gennaro and Vicenzo, a pizza master making pizzas in his family's restaurant. It was wonderfully fun, and the Pizza we made was delicious! We learned the extra details of how to properly knead the dough, how to properly measure out ingredients for the correct ratio, and the secret to making the sauce just right. Afterward, Gennaro sent photos and video he took, as well as the instructions so we can do our best to replicate it at home, at least as well as our paltry home oven can handle. An experience we'd highly recommend for anyone who lives to cook, loves to eat, and enjoys meeting new people along the way!Iconic Napoli Experience!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Gennaro. He picked us up at our AirBnb, which took the stress out of our morning. He told us all about the history of Naples and the Amalfi Coast. Our drive was relaxing, with beautiful views and commentary. Each stop was planned, so we could enjoy all of the sights, with time for extra exploring if we wanted. The food recommendations were perfect, and we visited the special pastry shop featured on Stanley Tucci’s Searching For Italy. We added an optional Wine and Food Pairing at a winery on the slopes of Mt. Vesuvius. It was a special ending of a perfect day. Gennaro was extremely helpful when we had to change our travel plans the following day, due to an unexpected train strike. Truly a 5 star experience!!Perfect day in the Amalfi Coast!

We were lucky enough to have booked Gennaro for a day long guided tour around Naples! We took the train down from Rome and went to the National Archeological Museum of Naples first thing in the morning. Then Gennaro met us outside the museum and began our day in Naples. I know Naples has a reputation but the city is changing dramatically and we had one of the best days of our entire trip! Gennaro had his own car so he was able to take us to many places in and around the city...from the Bay of Naples to the heart of the city. We always felt safe walking around with him (Female). Even the hidden spots that were once much more "Sketchy", were a complete delight to stroll through. Make the best decision possible and choose Gennaro for your tasting tour in Italy. Agi and I have been cruising the Mediterranean for the last 8 days and our day with Gennaro was our most memorable, enjoyable and informative yet. Gennaro was so kind to reach out in the days before our arrival and he was instrumental in providing directions to the meeting place to two bumbling tourists. The actual tasting was beyond our expectations as it was just us and him. He spent a good amount of time at each stop and educated us as well as entertained. We learned that Napoli has become a top destination since COVID. We learned that each region and every 20 miles there is a different traditional cuisine. He taught us the correct way to eat pizza…I definitely need to practice. I had real espresso “chocolate” for the first time and had “Mozzarella di Bufala Campania DOP”. My wife Bronwyn and I recently completed a three day guided experience of Naples, Amalfi Coast and Pompeii, and were lucky enough to have Gennaro as our guide. His passion and knowledge of the place he grew up with his ability to speak excellent English, to make us feel safe while driving the hectic roads of the Milky Mountains, all combined to create a once in a lifetime experience. Gennaro's kind nature and willingness to assist us with translation issues when arranging future accommodation and transport was priceless. We had the best time with Gennaro experiencing his hometown and all of its amazing food. Gennaro’s love for Naples was contagious as we fell in love, too. The people are warm and welcoming, the history is rich and the food is amazing. Although the entire tour was amazing, a few things stand out: the views from Vomero Hill and descending the steps below, the seafood at the market and, of course, the PIZZA!! Gennaro was not exaggerating when he said pizza anywhere outside of Napoli is not authentic pizza! The experience of watching the pizza being made was fun and unique and the pizza itself was delicious. Do yourself a favor, book this tour! Naples is not teeming with tourists like other major Italian cities. As an American, it was nice to hear more Italian than English being spoken by those we passed. This tour was at the top of our list of favorite things done during our 2.5 week European vacation. Great Tour and Fabulous Guide

Samen met mijn vrouw hebben wij een workshop pizza gevolgd bij Genarro. Door omstandigheden moest de workshop wat aangepast worden maar dit heeft Genarro perfect opgelost. Ik had al redelijk wat kennis van pizza maar door deze workshop heb ik mijn vaardigheden en kennis kunnen uitbreiden door te werken met Napolitaanse pizzabakkers, echt een geweldige ervaring. We spent nine hours with Gennaro and would have gladly spent nine more. The wealth of knowledge, the kindness and attentiveness and more importantly: his passion and genuineness in wanting to share what he calls: "his Napoli" with you only gives you a deeper appreciation of a place long misunderstood. Even though this was a City Escape, you truly cannot detach Napoli from the Amalfi Coast and though we were taken on a day full of beauty, Gennaro wove history with his wonderful story telling between these two iconic geographical points, providing us with a well informed overview of the past and present. The benefit of having a private tour is the opportunity to design specifics and move at your own pace. Gennaro is attentive and listens very carefully to your needs. He is kind by wanting to share as much as you want and is also intuitive enough to tell you when you should do something. Having had no expectations of what we wanted out of the Amalfi Coast tour, only wanting to experience it, Gennaro expertly provided us with opportunities to enjoy the spectacular views, avoid the crazy crowds of Amalfi and Positano, without diluting the overall experience of Amalfi. Though we could go on and on as to why Gennaro is a terrific guide, we would like to simply say that if you want professionalism, knowledge, and feel as if an old friend was showing you around his "heaven," Gennaro is your man. An Unforgettable Culinary Journey Through Spacca Napoli, Naples I recently had the pleasure of embarking on a food tour through the vibrant and historic Spacca Napoli in Naples, Italy, and I can confidently say it was an experience I'll never forget. From the moment we began, it was clear that this wasn't just about tasting food; it was about immersing ourselves in the rich culinary traditions and culture of Naples. Our guide Genarro was incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating stories about the history of the city, its iconic dishes, and the passionate artisans who have been perfecting their craft for generations. He was a joy to be around and you can tell he really loves his city and wanted us to feel what Naples was all about. Pizza like No Other One of our first stops set the bar high: a pizzeria that has been around for decades, serving up what can only be described as the most authentic Neapolitan pizza you could ever hope to taste. We were able to go into the kitchen and watch how the pizza is made. Enzo made it look easy!! In just 90 seconds we had our first authentic margarita pizza! The dough was perfectly chewy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven, and the toppings—simple yet bursting with flavor—were a testament to the idea that less is more when it comes to great pizza. Savoring Street Food Delights We also ventured into the world of Neapolitan street food, sampling delights like *cuoppo* (a paper cone filled with fried seafood), ragù with homemade pasta and I tried my first bite of REAL mozzarella. Soooooo delicious! We tried a fresh fig from one of the locals selling fresh produce. I’ve never known what a fig tasted like until now! Each bite was a delightful explosion of flavors, showcasing the city's knack for turning humble ingredients into something extraordinary. Sweet Treats to Remember No food tour in Naples would be complete without indulging in its famous sweets. We stopped at a historic *pasticceria*, where we enjoyed *sfogliatella*, a flaky pastry with a rich ricotta filling, and *babà*, a rum-soaked cake that was light, moist, and wonderfully decadent. It was paired with some limoncello and an aperol spritz which were both delicious. It was the perfect way to wrap up the tour. One of the highlights of the tour was simply walking through the bustling streets of Spacca Napoli. The energy, the sights, and the sounds all contributed to an atmosphere that felt authentically Neapolitan. This food tour through Spacca Napoli was more than just a culinary experience; it was a deep dive into the heart and soul of Naples. The passion and pride that the local chefs and artisans have for their food were evident in every dish we tried. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or just someone who loves a good meal, this tour is a must-do when in Naples.
