We booked the photo session with Edgard in Madrid to commemorate our 20th wedding anniversary in one of our favorite cities in the world. We had never done anything like this before, so we didn't really know what to expect, but I have to say that everything about this experience was AMAZING! Edgard listened to what we had in mind and used his incredible expertise to take us to several perfect photo spots. He made us feel very comfortable and at ease, and included many very interesting historical facts about the area as we made our way to each spot. The photos were delivered to us in an extremely timely manner, as promised, and we are SO thrilled with the results. The lighting, the scenery, -- everything is just perfect! We will cherish these photos for a lifetime, and we can't wait to frame several of them, as well as to create a photo book, so we can look at them for years to come. Edgard was a brilliant guide to Madrid for my daughter and myself on our first visit to the city. He met us at our hotel and walked us through the neighborhoods explaining the history behind each neighborhood until we reached the park. We wondered through the park and then back to Plaza Mayor with Edgard pointing out wonderful information as we went. Edgard led my BF and me on a special walking tour of Madrid in April. On a personal level, he is delightful, personable and inquisitive. On a professional level, he has deep knowledge of the most significant historical and architectural gems in the city. His approach is "professorial" in style, but not pedantic. His command of the English language (and several others) is quite remarkable, and his enthusiasm for Madrid is contagious. Edgard was very punctual and well prepared. I had asked for some special stops and route choices which he accommodated very well. At every stop, including places we just expressed interest in, he had an interesting bit of history or anecdote. He took us into off-the-road places of interest we would have missed on our own, and gave us great recommendations for music and food. We spent an excellent morning with Edgard rambling through old madrid. Edgard was flexible to start the tour near our hotel. We saw the highlights but also spent time in some buildings and plazas where we would not have ventured on our own. As a former resident of the area, Edgard had several interesting recommendations, not usually in the guidebooks. We walked at a leisurely pace and stopped for snacks, which made it a more relaxed experience. All in all, a great morning spent in the company of a local!A nice walk in old madrid

I was staying overnight in Madrid and so it had opportunity to visit the city for a few hours. I took a tour with Edgard and it was just what I was looking for. We really enjoyed and liked the tour Edgard gave us around Madrid. To be fare, we were walking in Madrid for 3 days before the tour and already visited a lot of places ourselves. However, it's a big difference just to look on a palace/statue and hear a story/facts about it at the same time. Edgard gave us a lot of information and in additional showed us some Madrid's hidden gems as well; we would never saw them without him. Even our kids (10 & 13 years old) enjoyed the tour and really liked it. In additional, Edgard gave us some practical advices about Madrid we were looking for. Onze eerste ervaring met With Locals was een topervaring. En dat vooral dankzij Edgard. We waren vanaf de eerste seconde op ons gemak bij hem, je merkte dat hij enorm graag vertelde en deed dat met enorm veel enthousiasme. Hij liet ons een paar highlights zien en vertelde er telkens de leukste anekdotes bij. Daarnaast nam hij ons ook mee naar de buurten waar de locals vooral uit gingen. Dat is iets wat we specifiek hadden gevraagd en daar had hij dan ook rekening mee gehouden. Het is dus perfect mogelijk om je rondleiding een beetje te sturen in de richting die je zelf het meest interessant vindt. Tijdens de wandeling wees hij ook leuke adresjes aan om te eten of iets te drinken en die hebben we dan ook uitgetest. Edgard is een lieve en interessante man, wij hebben met hem een superleuke middag gehad!Enorme aanrader!

It was Christmas eve and Edgar took my family of 4 on a tour of Madrid. He had very good local knowledge and offered much advice about restaurants, good view points and markets. This is the local knowledge you can't find on google. My family very much enjoyed the tour. Also, after telling Edgar I left my expensive camera in a taxi in barcelona (still upset about that!!), he took took some photos for me and send them via email. Edgard was knowledgeable, friendly and humorous. He provided lots of interesting facts and figures and really helped us learn more about the city - its history but also its present, the nooks and crannies, what's nice to eat and do. He did so in a way that was entertaining for my teenagers, and was also flexible and accommodating. We had taken a short tour the day before so he adjusted the route so that we would not repeat places we'd already visited. All in, this exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend Edgard!
