We took the market and French quarter tour with Adriano and had a great time. Adriano could tell us a lot about Bari and local life and gave us delicious recipes with the different vegetables at the market at the same time. We tasted very yummy food at different stalls (don't eat a big breakfast!) and enjoyed the banter with the different stallholders. Afterwards we headed to the French quarter where Adriano gave us an insight in the different architecture styles and helped us on our way with tips to explore the old part of town. Greatly recommended! Setting up the tour was also easy (Adriano made sure my dietary requirements were taken into account) and Adriano was very flexible.Great and tasty experience!

We asked Adriano for a custom tour of local neighborhoods instead of the typical tourist spots and he delivered a very special half-day walking tour. We started at the open air market where locals buy vegetables, seafood, and more. We walked by the train station, parks, university and theaters. He explained the historic evolution of the different areas of the city and highlighted different building styles. The best part was all of the local places that we visited where he knew the owners who welcomed us warmly as he explained how the family that owned the bakery actually drove McDonald's out of the countyside. We ate warm focaccia like locals on the go, toured a 100-year-old wine shop where they hid in the cellar during the war, and even visited the local shoemaker. He showed us the spot where he meets friends to listen to music, read a book or enjoy a beer. It was 100% unique and exactly what we hoped it would be. Wonderful tour of how locals live in Bari

We were fortunate to find Adriano. He was responsive. That is a big deal for us. We got the tour we wanted not a packaged presentation. We both had Barese grandparents and so a keen interest in the culture and customs and he was able to add richness to what we had been told. He brought us through the old city and gave us a picture of their way of life. We even got to meet a couple of them. He explained the later growth and showed us the life of the modern city. When my husband and I decided on going to Italy, we planned the places we wanted to visit. He then sent me on the quest to find the tours and places to stay. My wife and another couple we met on our ship, toured with Adriano 10/21/24. Adriano met us, at an easy place for us to find, in the city. From the time he introduced himself to the group, until he said goodbye, Adriano was passionate about his city. Adriano was an outstanding guide! We had a private bike tour of Bari and he tailored it perfectly. Preparing in advance stops involving our favourites like cheeses, cold meats, focaccia and the best octopus and gelatos we’ve ever tasted! As well as local delicacies we’d not heard of! What a great guide! I was traveling solo for this adventure and he was instantly easy to talk to. He was very friendly and personable with the vendors and local people of the town of Bari. Adriano gave a very smooth and welcoming feeling, as if we were walking amongst friends and family, while explaining the intricacies of how the city came to be. He explained the culture and customs of the locals (I would definitely missed out on) without a true local explaining or pointing out some of the smaller details that would have gone unnoticed. Our introduction to Bari old town with Adriano was everything we could have asked for. He took us though the narrow streets, avoiding the crowds, to see and learn about the history, development and people of the city.
