We chose Francesca for this tour and so glad we did. She was absolutely wonderful and accommodating. My husband injured his knee and she was very mindful of his comfort. Her knowledge of Milan’s history is vast. We learned so much. She brought us to churches as this was our interest. We strolled through a lovely botanical garden. It happened to be fashion week so we detoured to the high end designer shopping district to window shop. She found a terrific cafe for lunch with the most delicious paninis. We covered a lot of ground in our three hours with her both literally and metaphorically (lots of questions asked and answered). Francesca took me & my 2 teen daughters around town. It was the first full day we were in Italy & it was good to have the tour then so we could ask questions about Italy early on. Francesca knows a lot of history of Italy & kept it interesting & just the right pace. What a brilliant food walking tour! Francesca was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible with our group. We had a three hours guided tour in the center of Milan. Francesca knows all the hidden places where you might not come as tourist in Milan. We made a stop at Marchesi, famous for the best Panetones and owned now by Prada, and had a great Panetone tasting. We saw ancient Roman remaining as well as hidden sideways and the castle. Francesca was prompt in meeting us at our hotel. My friend and I liked it that she began our tour with a brief overview of the history of Milan. Francesca took some time to discuss what I wanted to see and planed an excellent tour with a balance of the “must see” spots and some great “off the beaten track” places. Her knowledge, incredibly comprehensive, was shared in an easy manner rather than it being like a download from a guide book. I never felt we were under any time pressure or had to keep to a schedule. I cannot recommend Francesca highly enough. I’m also glad I passed her test in saying the statue was of Napoleon not Nero. Francesca was just amazing. She planned an itinerary just for us. Taking us to some of the historical sites of Milan not on her original route. She spent time explaining the iconography of several exquisite churches that we as non-Catholics wouldn’t have understood had we gone on our own. She surprised us with a trip to the stock exchange and the finger sculpture. A truly worthwhile tour. And not much more than a generic, commercial tour would have been. One of the best tours we’ve ever been on.

I am trying to tap the 10 on the rating but it will not take it. I rate Francesca a 10. She knew her history and could answer my 52 year old daughter’s questions. She has a 17 year old so understood my 17 year old granddaughters short attention spans and the need for coffee and eating often. Francesca kept us all interested with her knowledge of the duomo and galleries Vittoria and the castle. She pointed out details that our eyes would never have noticed. My 14 and 15 year old teenagers were interested and actually paid attention! So bravo Francesca ! 3-3.5 hours. It was cold but she found a delightful tea stop for us to warm up and take a break.
