We took Salvatore’s futuristic, ancient and charming soul’s tour and it showed us a part of Milan I’ve never seen. This is my second visit to Milan, and the first was with a guided trip, so I thought I had seen everything, but Salvatore showed me corners of the city I hadn’t expected. The futuristic part- as it happens I was just shopping nearby the day before and missed an entirely new and huge piece of the city. And the canal area was very unexpected. Salvatore was a friendly guide and we are grateful to have seen Milan with him.Interesting guide and tour!

We booked this tour to taste whole Milan and it was just what we needed. For a short stay, this is the tour you need, as you see all the spotlights of this beautifull city. And for a longer stay, this is also the tour you need, because afterwards you can revisit the area that pleased you the most (book at the begin of your stay). We have been on lots of tours - from the hop-on-hop-off bus to cruise tours to organized group tours with "experts", but this is absolutely the nicest way to experience a city - with a local who appreciates the good and the bad, and will show you what perhaps the tour buses can't get to. I loved that Salvatore knew a lot about the flavor of Milan's people and politics, not just history. He and we covered a LOT of distance in 3 hours - I think just over 5 miles just with him; he is a tall man with a quick pace. Along the way he narrated about businesses, fashion, food, attitudes, and of course sites. He had asked us prior to our tour if there was something in particular we wanted to see to make sure our expectations were met, which to me means his tours can be customized depending upon your desires. I assume he also would make accommodation for those who are not used to such a fast pace - he seemed sensitive to that. We told him we wanted to see what HE thought was important to share about his city (ie, not the usual tourist checklist). And he did a wonderful job of making me feel like someone considering residency; which was exactly what we wanted. We learned so very many things about the Milanese, and not just a bunch of dates in history. I'd highly recommend this to anyone, and will make sure to check out the "With Locals" offerings in other cities we visit.The Best Way to Experience a City...

Without a doubt, we have found the best way to experience a new city is to hire a local enthusiast... this is what we found with Salvatore. He was kind enough to meet us at our hotel in Milan and started our walking tour from there. Salvatore was very knowledgable and passionate about his hometown city and this translated through his explanation of all that is old and new in Milan. Not only did we walk the city, he also showed us how to navigate the subway system. From the newest of buildings to ancient landmarks, Salvatore shared all which he knew and gladly answered all questions we had. As we were weary from having just arrived (plus the weather was less than cooperative...), we opted to end our walking tour just a little early - Salvatore kindly made sure we knew just where our hotel was and even escorted us there. I was on my own in Milan and I booked a tour with Salvatore. We met in my hotel which was closeby the new modern area. From there we walked to the centre and ended in Navigli. In this way I saw the new and the old Milan. Salvatore was a great host. Telling lots of interesting details about the areas we passed by. We loved this tour with Salvatore. This tour gave us a unique appreciation of how Milan has grown into the city it is now. We explored a side of Milan that we would not have seen, received valuable tips and saw hidden gems we would have missed. Salvatore is obviously passionate about Milan and exploring Milan and hearing his stories of how the buildings of Milan have come to be was extremely interesting. Salvatore was amazing! My fiancé and I had such a wonderful time on our tour. We saw many of the larger sites BUT what was great was all of the little gems. Salvatore had a lot of useful and informative tips and quips about the history of many of the buildings. We had many questions, in which Salvatore was able to answer. He was polite and fun. We organised a 3 hour tour with Salvatore online after coming across “Withlocals”. No idea what to expect but we guessed we’d get to see more of Milan this way. Salvatore met us at our hotel and brought us on a trip through the streets of Milan, visiting all the things of interest and filling us in on the history of them as well. He was very friendly, insightful and full of knowledge. We certainly got to see more of Milan this way and we would have no problem recommending him as your guide if you were to take a trip to Milan. My husband and I really enjoyed the 3-hour walking tour with Salvatore. Salvatore met us at our hotel and we walked from the north side of town to the Navigli district. We walked through many landmarks in the city center such as the Sforzesco Castle, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele and the Duomo.
