5. The way to the venue

   Come with me through paths very well explored by locals. Depending on the day you choose the tour, be sure I will talk about and point you these main points: Downtown of Porto and magnificent buildings, e.g. Town Hall, São Bento Train Station (tiles and clocks will be shown), a street called Santo António with a beautiful church on the top and two lovers on the top corner of two shops. Let me introduce you a little bit more inside streets "off the beaten track", old parishes and so unexpected stories about popular traditions as São João (the 24th June).

The tour with Ana was a wonderful experience! It was really nice to walk around with someone who knows so much about Porto and loves the city. Ana is amazing! We had a fantastic time touring the hidden Porto. As you would expect from someone born and raised in Porto (also referred to as tripeiros), she is a wealth of information and knows all the truly local gems. The tour given by Ana was highly interesting and were about subjects that are not covered by any guide book. She showed us the area of the Igreja do Carmo, where she grew up, where she studied and where she knows all local people. She showed us local shops and restaurants we never would have noticed. But most valuable were her explanations how the society and the political system have changed in the past 50 years.

Our Drinks & Bites tour with Ana was so much fun. She took us to three bars (each increasingly off-the-beaten path) and arranged amazing vegetarian food for us at each stop. She also introduced us to three different local drinks and explained each one. Ana was very generous with her time and the tour went well over the allotted 2.5 hours. Wow! Ana is a wonderful guide: extremely knowledgeable, kind, and absolutely passionate about her tours. What really stood out to us was how she smoothly integrated us into the life of the city. We had a wonderful evening with Ana as she shared the local food, shops and dining experience. Ana took us to several "small" family run establishments. All of the food and drink was excellent and the places she took us to we probably would not have gone in by ourselves. Ana shared her knowledge of the city and especially explained the week long college graduation festivities and the outfits that the graduates and other students wore. Ana was so easy to talk to and explained so much about Porto and Portugal which we appreciated since it was our first full day in the country. Ana even changed the meeting point to accommodate us and then walked us most of the way back to our hotel (since it was on her way home). Thank you for a great experience. Wonderful evening with Ana
