More about me

G’day, I’m Matt – born in Sydney, raised by the bush, and probably the only bloke you’ll meet who once hitchhiked solo around Australia for 14 months and lived to tell the tale (with a grin). That wild ride taught me a thing or two – mainly that Aussies are generous legends and that the best stories happen off the beaten track.

These days, I’ve swapped the dusty backpack for a comfy 4WD and now I’m the one behind the wheel – giving visitors like you a front-row seat to the real Australia. Not the tourist-trap version, but the good stuff: echidnas rustling through the undergrowth, secret lookouts, gum trees older than your great-granddad, and the occasional curious wallaby giving us a sideways look.

I started Sydney Guided Tours to pay back the kindness I copped from total strangers during my travels. It’s my way of showing folks the Australia I know and love – raw, rugged, and ridiculously beautiful – just a stone’s throw from the city.

My mission? Simple. I want you to feel like a local, not a tourist. To taste the coffee we actually drink. To see the wild side of Sydney most people miss. And to leave with your jaw on the floor and your camera full.

So if you’re after something genuine – not a bloke in a headset rattling off facts from a script – jump in. I’ll show you the kind of day that’ll make your mates back home think you joined a David Attenborough doco.

Let’s hit the road.
