Genny is a great guide and took us so many brilliant places. My partner is vegetarian and so usually doesn’t have a great time with food tours but Genny customised the tour to suit us both. We take food tours in every city that we visit, unfortunately this food tour was the most expensive with the least to offer. Although Genny is a lovely guide and we absolutely adored her the tour itself was disappointing. For a 100 Euro per person we only got to taste some cicchetis, fried seafood, fried sandwiches and rice balls and gelato. Although we don’t mind sharing between friends, there was only one to maximum two of the same Ciccheti to share which we had to bite of. We would really recommend getting more than one to share and cut it instead of asking for 5 people to bite of and pass on. For that price we really expected a little bit more. Highlight was the first place we visited and the access to the rooftop at Tedeschi Mall that you would usually have to book way in advance. We thought it was off to a great start but this was not the case. The gelato at the end was unfortunately also not very good compared to what we have had on a daily in Italy. 10 tastings of Venice set the wrong expectation.Venice

I chose a private tour because I walk slowly with a stick. I advised Genny before I booked and she agreed to take me on! Genny was very understanding, friendly and patient, she swopped the order of the walk around so that I was more likely to have a seat at the places we stopped for food. She was very knowledgeable and her English is great. It was a relief to be in an area which was less touristy and crowded. The food samples were delicious and I learnt a lot about Venetian food. I was introduced to Select Spritz, the venetian invented drink. The fish market was fascinating; fish we wouldn't normally see in UK such as whole swordfish. My husband agreed that this tour was the best part of visiting Venice. The tour was 3 hours but had frequent stops so I didn't find it too difficult especially as Genny walked at my pace. Genny is an amazing guide - friendly, funny, knowledgeable and interesting. My husband and I had the best time on our food tasting tour of Venice. We tried food, drinks and venues we would have had no idea about it if wasn’t for Genny’s expert local knowledge. We definitely weren’t hungry at the end of the tour. Genny was also incredibly flexible. We were caught up in a national train strike which meant we couldn’t make our tour time. Genny reorganised the itinerary so that we could still do the tour. This food tour has been the highlight of my Europe trip so far. We did the tour with two teens, and all of us thoroughly enjoyed it. I would have never discovered the stops we made, and even if I had, I wouldn’t have known what to order. Genny’s Venice food tour was one of our favorite experiences on our trip to Italy. Genny made my family of 4 (2 teenage boys) feel like we were walking through the city with a friend. She took us to many local restaurants with authentic food and drinks and gave us some history of Venice along the way. We tried a variety of cicchetti, cheese, cured meats, fried seafood, and gelato. We had a fantastic tour with Genny. We flew in to Venice at 7:30 am and planned the tour to get a feel for the city and try to make ourselves stay awake. It was a big success but we were also very tired!! Genny did the most amazing job of showing us the sights but also recognizing we were low on steam. She gave us just the right amount of information to make the tour entertaining, informative, and interesting but also not dragging things out when she knew we were tired. Genny organized a wonderful day for my group of 14 people on the islands of Murano and Burano this past June. She personalized the day trip perfectly for us. She went above and beyond and did several extra things, even arranging a special lunch for my group. After seeing a fabulous glass-making presentation on Murano we spent time touring Burano. All along the way Genny shared her knowledge of the islands as well as her knowledge of Venice. We wanted to return to Venice on our own after our lunch so Genny helped me buy return ferry tickets and even sent me a video informing me how to get on the correct ferry and find our way back. Started our city trip to Venice with a guided tour with Genny. From the moment we met it felt as if we were on a walk with a friend. Venice City Kids Tour with Genny: by far one our for FAVORITE activities in Venice. Genny was the best tour guide - she has 2 kids of her own and was so engaging and funny with our kids. We loved her so much - everyone in Venice seemed to know her; yelling “Ciao, Genny!” everywhere we went. Because of her, she got us a private glass blowing demonstration (which we didn’t think we could do because we couldn’t book one in time), a mask making class with San Marco 596 after our tour ANDD she called in a favor and got us entrance to the rooftop of the Fondaco dei Tedeschi with the most incredible views of Venice when we couldn’t get our own tickets 🥲 Please book her — you will not be disappointed. Our guide no showed for our tastings tour. I was then on the chat with customer service for an hour and a half while I argued with them that we were in fact at the correct starting point for the tour and that I had tried to call the guide multiple times with no answer. After they “investigated” the situation for an hour and a half they finally told me that our guide took the wrong group. We only had one day in Venice so this took up a very disappointing amount of our day. Not showing up was bad enough but they made me stay in the pick up location for an hour and a half before they finally said they would refund us our money. Horrible experience

My husband and I recently booked a tour of Venice with Genny and it was one of the best tours of our entire trip! Genny is personable, very interesting and knowledgeable. She told us the history of the masks and carnival. She explained how the plague affected Venice and how, the cats were the heroes in fighting the plague. She took us to the bookshop that been damaged by the flood. The best part was the roof terrace with the 360 degree view of Venice! She also gave us restaurant recommendations which were terrific. We decided the start our time in Venice with a tour with Genny and this is the best decision we could have made. It was our first time visiting Venice and my husband and I were travelling with our 5–year-old daughter. Genny was such a delight from the moment we met her! We had an incredible tour with Genny in Venice. It was a very hot day (35°C) and between our booking day and our tour day, we discovered we were pregnant- Genny was ON IT. She made sure that everywhere we went had options for my wife and she planned some stops that were Air Conditioned so we could snag a seat and cool off. She was an ace at finding hard to find seats, understood very quickly what we loved to eat, and it was so nice walking the streets and hearing folks from restaurants shout "Ciao Genny!" as we walked by. We close our visit to Venice with a tour from Genny. Genny is fantastic, she shows us the first church, pillory, the (fish) market and the best gelateria and pizzeria in Venice. She tells the story of the masks, carnival and the plague, the rats and cats heroes, the prison and the bookshop. But above all, she takes us to the old ware house where all the famous fashion brands are located nowadays, not for shopping but for the roof terrace where you have a 360 degree view of Venice! Not pre-booked but Genny gets us up fir 15 minutes. She is an example of who does good, meets well and a smile costs nothing. With her disarming stories, smile and character, she get everything done during the tour and she knows how to inform and intrigue all 5 of us. We love Genny!Great experience with a big smile
