We really enjoyed our tour with Welly. He was well informed about the history, famous places, food and culture of Paris. We toured the Latin Quarter and learned so much about the area and about Paris generally. Welly even recommended restaurants for us and encouraged us to try a famous dessert called Les Merveilleux. What a fascinating and informative tour of Paris's Latin Quarter! My wife and I had been to Paris on several occasions and thought we had seen and learned much about the city. But our incredible guide Wan opened our eyes and minds to many historically and culturally important (and often very charming and touching) sites and information that I'll bet most tourists would miss or not understand. What made this such a wonderful tour was the very friendly and conversational way that Wan shared her encyclopedic knowledge of Paris's history and culture. We have never had a tour guide who had such a perfect balance of personality, professionalism and knowledge! We feel so very lucky to have taken this tour and to have had Wan as our guide. We went for a walk with our daughter (12) and Izabel. She was very easy, communicative and friendly. Apart from that, she told us a lot of historical background and interesting facts about the Latin quarter, but not only. Furthermore, she gave us several personal advices for interesting cafés, bars, shops and restaurants in Paris. Some of those we had the opportunity to try out, and it was worth it! Wan was able to navigate our group of 4 kids( ages 7, 8 10,11 )and 4 adults very well on a hot Paris summer afternoon for a Latin quarter guide during peak tourist season . She took the time to explain things to the kids and answer any questions and made it interesting for the kids so they are not bored . She is easy to talk to and a wonderful guide . Iza was a professional and fun guide, showing me exactly the sites I requested in the more casual style I prefer. Firstly we were booked with Ali and that was cancelled the morning of the tour. This is very poor. We then booked Lenine who was nice enough but his knowledge very poor. My husband asked many questios and the answer was "i do not know" by Lenine. At times we wondered aimlessly and ended the tour in a completely different location without discussion of where or what we were doing. As compared to the tour guy tour of the Louvre today who knew miles of information and very structured, so you knew what you were doing. I will be not be using Lenine again. Very disappointed. Knowledge poor, no structure to the tour. Also with Locals should of tried to find us someone else to do the tour when Ali pulled out, not us having to find someone. Plus having to pay again and having to wait 10 working days for refund from first tour booked. Should be able to have money transfered across to new booking.

We’ve had an amazing tour around hidden spots in Paris with Gelsomina. She is such a beautiful, kind and knowledgeable guide. My 2 girls aged 9 and 11 absolutely loved the tour and this experience was highlighted as number 1 on their postcards to friends!! ☺️ Gelsomina showed us Luxembourg Gardens, the Latin Quarter, The Sorbonne, a little macaroon store, the oldest parts of Paris and she shared a few little stories and facts about the city on our tour. We meet with Bibiana at the Luxembourg Gardens for the start fo rour 3 hour walking tour. Bibiana asked what we were interested in seeing and tailored the tour for us, so that we didnt do the normal tourist route. We learnt a lot about the history and architecture of the area. Most of which we were not aware of. Bibiana's english is very good, so understanding her was not a problem. Thoroughly enjoyed ‘Paris like a local’ walking tour with Alexandrine on first-day arrival into this great City. Tour began at entrance-gate to the beautiful Jardin du Luxembourg and centered around the Latin Quarter (Rive Gauche) continuing finally to Place de La République (Rive Droite) and the adjacent Canal: enjoyed especially principal facade and environs of the University (La Sorbonne) as well vantage view of the Great Cathedral on the Île-de-La Cité, from which respects could be offered (robust restoration efforts apparently are well-underway, which may last for decade/s). Alex was very kind and knowledgeable, making extra effort to demonstrate place-details of special interest, with associated historical context: all much appreciated. Louis is an amazing tour guide. If you want an authentic and unfiltered tour of Paris from someone who knows and loves its streets that is exactly what you’ll get. Intelligent, witty and able to answer all my constant questions! It was fascinating to see the quieter and trendy side of Paris also, like the secret quiet square and beautiful hidden gardens and markets (you’ll have to pick Louis to find out where they are!) we also passed the best ice cream in Paris as well as the best cakes at Aux Merveilleux. So much was packed in to this tour without feeling rushed or oversaturated while still being able to see main sights like Notre Dame, Bastille, The Jewish Quarter and so much more in between. From history, anecdotes, food and politics, Louis can give you local insight in to all of these things. Knowledgeable and genuine he’s the perfect tour guide for someone looking to see Paris through the eyes of a local. Louis is accommodating, polite and happy to suggest to you places he thinks you’ll like (and take you there) which really gives you the opportunity to experience parts of Paris you can connect with. We completed a tour in Paris with Christianne in October and were disappointed that our expectations were not met. There were a number of inclusions clearly listed as per the outline of the tour that were not delivered. We did not customise this tour. We thought we must have mis-read the outline but as we ate some lunch at the final stop cafe (not the "warm up with a coffee" one) we checked the website and found we were not mistaken. We did not sample some onion bread at a modern Parisian boulangerie nor did we did relax in the cosy atmosphere of one of the oldest cafes in Paris, warming up with a coffee. We certainly did not "get the classy Parisian vibe in a local vintage shop". We felt quite let down by what was advertised and what was actually delivered. We’re not sure what can be done now. After numerous emails to 'Withlocals' about the "Paris Like A Local" tour with Christianne we have resorted to sending this negative review. We would have preferred to have sorted this out in another way but to ignore our emails is shameful. Disappointing - What Was Advertised Was Not Delivered
