We had a lovely tour with Alejandra. The area we explored is not huge, so perhaps doesn’t need the full 2 1/2 hours, however we learnt so much about Santiago and Chile from Alejandra that it was well worth very minute.
She was very accomodating and we relaxed for a while with a delish ice cream at the end.
She knows a lot about the area, about Santiago and was so open with us. Really made our time in Santiago so enjoyable.
Thanks Alejandra for a great afternoon. Learnt so much!

The one-one, rather flexible and meandering nature of this walking tour with an intelligent and interesting discussion was a nice contrast to the more fact-stuffed tour I had done earlier in the day. Both have their place, but I enjoyed this tour. Very enjoyable tour with conversation.

My favorite way to learn about a new city and country is a food tour. Food = culture. Pablo was the perfect guide to lead us on a food tour where we ate with and like locals. Pablo provided us with a view into local Chilean food, culture, music and architecture. We went places we never would have discovered on our own. We talked for hours and learned so much. The Vega Central market experience was a highlight. I would highly recommend. Eat like a local!

Had an enjoyable and enriching time with Pablo. The tour was a good balance between showing us local spots, sharing the history and more importantly giving a wholesome context about Santiago. He was open to all our questions and actually customized some things (like taking us to a subway and 3 different stations) based on what we had done and not done. We finally had a lunch with him over a hearty local meal and good conversations. That sums it up - highly recommend Pablo as a guidePablo made it special

We were very disappointed with this food tour
The first three tastings were a piece of fruit from three different stalls which he peeled, cut up and we shared
The fourth was olives from a stall, Pablo then took some cheese out of his bag and gave us a small slice.
We then went to the fish market - the area did not feel safe, I had to carry our small rucksack in front of me, my wife had to walk between the guide and me, the atmosphere was oppressive and we saw raw chicken legs and raw fish being sold out of black bags on the pavement
We then went to a fish restaurant in the fish market and had three dishes. Pablo did not explain what they were, he got us one tin of beer and this was divided between the three of us, he then went off and made a phone call for 25 mins - the food was not edible and we left it.
We said we did not want to continue the tour and to take us near our hotel where we felt safer. He asked if my wife liked ice cream and if I liked coffee. So he got us one ice cream and one coffee.
This tour is not in a suitable area for tourists, and the food was not worth the money. Not a suitable tour for tourists

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Pablo, he exceeded our expectations. Pablo packed so much into our few hours, and such diverse collections of experiences from history to art, to climbing a mountain to yummmy food. Our favorite was trying the BEST cheese empanadas in Santiago. Thanks so much for the amazing experience, we look forward to coming back to Santiago soon! Amazing local experience with Pablo

They say if you really want to understand a place its soul, its scars, its rhythm you sit down and eat with its people. Bourdain said that, and damn if he wasn’t right. I landed back in Santiago under the cover of night, checked into some no-frills motel with flickering neon and just enough hot water to remind you you’re still alive. A few hours of sleep, then straight into the streets with Pablo my guide, my local compass, my translator for the Chilean chaos I was about to dive into. We walked. We ate. We walked some more. Santiago unfolded itself in layers old colonial bones wrapped in graffiti, street vendors slinging empanadas like they were dealing secrets. Pablo told me stories of dictators, poets, and late night revelers. He laughed when I mentioned going out after midnight. You gringos are either brave or stupid he said. Maybe both. Day and night here are two different animals. By day, it's a sun-drenched canvas of history and hustle. By night, it hums with something raw, something electric and slightly dangerous. I got my steps in. I got my fill. And in between bites, I got just a little closer to understanding this city.Full belly, open eyes

We had Pablo on a Tuesday at noon in an area that was known for nightlife. We thought we would be sampling food also.
That was not the case but Pablo was able to quickly pivot and provide us with an AWESOME experience and we bonded well. Knowledgable and a smooth delivery. Many off the beaten path experiences were great.
Very good English.

Leckere Erfahrungen

Wife and I throughly enjoyed our experience with Pablo. Very personable, knowledgeable, and treated us so well. Took extra care looking after my wife, presenting her a couple of unexpected gifts. The fruits, cheese, olives, etc were incredible. Wife wanted to purchase a few of the fruits we had tasted for our time at our AirBnb. Pablo covered the cost of them. The lunch of Chilean dishes were so good. Pablo provided the names of the dishes again so that during our others days we could order them. Very much enjoyed our time with a real professional and our taste buds are screaming for more. Thank you Pabo for sharing your county with us. Outstanding foodie experience in Santiago

We booked this food tour for the last day of our vacation in Santiago. The food itself was fantastic but the shining star of the show was our guide Pablo. We went to a local market and sampled from many stalls, olives, avocado, fresh fruits that I had never heard of before but were all fantastic! The market itself was such a neat experience and probably a place we would not have gotten to see without a guide - this is really where the locals shop! Pablo has great local knowledge and can tell you both the history of the area and of the market and the vendors themselves. He seems to know many of the vendors personally. We then had a sit down lunch and sampled three local dishes before setting out for some dessert. All fantastic food! Highly recommend this tour. Totally worth it!

We have enjoyed many food tours in many cities and this one was far less than expected for two reasons. First, the guide, Pablo, immediately upon meeting us, shared that he had accepted the invite outside of the website to host two other guests and asked us if this would be ok. We had no ability to reasonably object and as we learned he had already committed to hosting them and they were in transit already. This was improper conduct. Second, the actual tour was far less than it could or should have been. We were not given a chance to taste a 'completo' which is the national street food even though the place he wanted to take us for tasting was not open and a completo place was adjacent and open. He had us walk in a market and taste a few items but passed others and then had us sit in a restaurant and taste truly terrible food. It was really bad. Further, during the lunch he was supposed to host he left us and spoke on his phone for about 35 minutes. Overall the tour was very disappointing and the conduct of Pablo less than expected. I personally communicated with Pablo about our concerns using what's app and he feigned ignorance about this and because of this conduct I am sharing this review as this conduct should not have occurred.Disappointing Tour

We were expecting a food walking tour through a neighborhood, visiting local restaurants, but was really a market tour with lunch included. We did visit many shops in the market and sampled a number of items. Asked Pablo for some of the fruit we sampled and instead of getting it from the vendor where we sampled the fruit, he waited until we were out of the market and bought from a street vendor and unfortunately all the fruit he bought for us was spoiled and we had to discard it. Pablo was great, very informative but the description should be changed to market food tour. Market walk

Pablo was fantastic starting his communication through the app. He suggested an earlier starting time which worked out so that we could get the full energy of the market without too much craziness and lunch at a reasonable time so that we could enjoy a normal dinner. He was right on time and immediately started sharing his knowledge about all things Chile as we walked to the market. We had been to the 2 closest to the city center but those were not the true markets that we missed that were just next door. He adjusted the menu based on our interests and what we had already tried earlier in our stay so that we could maximize our experiences. I HIGHLY recommend Pablo. Local Professional with a Heart

We sampled some delicious, ham, olives and fruit that we had never even heard of! Following our walk through the market he led us to our table in a restaurant above the market to eat with the locals. It was a very unique experience and the abundance of food was wonderful, we loved it! Pablo takes you on a fun-filled whirlwind tour of Mercado Central - Santiago's hustling/bustling food market. With massive foot long corn ears, giant celery stalks, tasty berries and all sorts of produce, you get a great idea of what Chilean farming has to offer. You'll grab a few more food samples along the way before climbing the stairs to a hidden lunch nook high above the market. Gourmet dining it's not but authentic it is! Afterwards you'll stroll through the city center and then grab a final beverage before you depart.Big Ass Corn

Pablo was a very knowledgeable and personable guide. We learned a lot about local cuisine and culture in Chile and how it got to be that way. Understanding 300 years of history that is behind the plates of food in front of us was very cool.
I had fruits I’ve never had before. Sampled some of the best ham and cheese. I really have to go out and get a Chilean cookbook because now I have this big bag of Merquen spice mix I get to take home with me!! The market was fantastic. We really enjoyed the pastel de choclo. Never miss a food tour

We enjoyed seeing the street market of Santiago. It is very different from the usual tourist destinations and a great way to see a slice of local life in the city. All the tastings were in the market. We tasted local fruits and cheese straight from the stalls. We did eat at a restaurant in the market for our last stop and tasted all Chilean dishes.
Pablo was engaging and animated and guided us with ease through the crowded market.

He shared the history of Chile and Santiago and at the end we ate a sumptuous local Chilean meal! The place we ate at was a hidden local gem that we would have never discovered as a tourist. Our guide Pablo was very friendly, passionate and knowledgeable. He brought us to the main market where we sampled olives, a slice of ham and cheese, and several fruits, including prickly pears (tunas). We split a small completo (hot dog with chopped tomatoes, mayonnaise, salsa, sauerkraut and green sauce). Then we climbed a spiral staircase to a luncheonette place, where we shared two different bowls of soup, a pastel de choco (corn pudding with chicken, some deep fried pumpkin bread, a small salad and one beer. The food was rustic and tasty but we couldn't finish everything. We then made our way to a busy pedestrian mall downtown and stopped at a cart for a mote con huesillo (sweet nectar-like liquid made with dried peaches, sugar, cinnamon and barley). Pablo offered to show us more of the downtown area but we had done a walking tour the previous day, so we agreed to end the tour. Although we enjoyed it, I think it was overpriced compared to food tours in other cities where you visit several local restaurants and bars for a similar cost.

We had a fabulous tour with Pablo! We had scheduled for 5 pm to avoid the heat, but he reached out to request we meet earlier so we could visit the market before it closed. Let me tell you, it was worth it! We hit different stalls and tasted different olives, cheese and fruits before settling a restaurant to taste the local traditional dishes. Afterward, we walked the city while Pablo told us of the history and different places we should take additional time to visit later. On this walk we also had local drinks and ice cream! My entire party had a great time and we would definitely recommend! Try to book lunch or late lunchtime so you can hit the market!A fabulous way to learn the city!
