Maria is a knowledgeable and friendly guide. We learned a lot about the artists and specific images we had been walking by all week. There is so much graffiti and paintings in Valencia. Choosing what to view and discuss is a challenge. We became more observant after the tour. We would like to know more about the relationships between those who paint images and those who paint script and initials only. Also, we also want to know more about those who choose own walls to paint and those who are paid by property owners to paint on their gates and walls. Great context for art we see

With only two days in Valencia we wanted a family friendly tour to show us some of the key and hidden sights of the area. Maria was wonderful with the kids and showed us alot of sights in the city that we wouldn't have otherwise stumbled across. We learned about some of Valencia's traditions, explored a historic bakery, and learned about the street art amongst other interesting topics. She was great with our girls as well who where 5 and 7. We did two tours with Maria: a general guide around the centre of Valencia taking in (amongst others): Central Market; Silk Exchange; the palace housing the ceramics museum as well as a number of churches.
The second, foodie tour focussed mainly around the narrow streets of the northern central part of the city (Barrio del Carmen) taking in on the way the Cathedral and Basilica, Parroquia de San Nicolas and Torres de Serranos.
We thoroughly enjoyed Maria’s description of the buildings as well as some of the city’s history. We had three food stops taking in, amongst others, a small former pharmacy turned into a barInsightful tour, lovely lady

Maria took 15 of us (all students learning Spanish) on a walk around the city. The feedback from the students was fantastic! They loved how responsive Maria was to their wishes eg that she spoke Spanish and also English to explain the history of this beautiful city. Also, that she showed us the traditional sights as well as more alternative ones. Maria's warm personality made us all feel very welcome and her knowledge about the sights kept us interested.

We decided to do a last minute visit to Valencia whilst on holiday. I contacted Danny through the “withlocals” site. He got back to me quickly and we agreed a meet. We had a great couple of hours! The tour of the history of the city was interesting without being too dry for the teenager. It was a brilliant way to explore the city on our short visit.
Danny was engaging, humorous and well informed, even adapting the route to encompass a stop for chocolate y churros as requested by the teenager! Overall a brilliant experience. I’d definitely recommend Danny to anyone visiting Valencia. Valencia with Danny

Danny did the perfect job introducing Valencia to our family that included (and at times inpatient) 3 kids. Besides educating us with the rich history, he was patient, accommodating, and friendly. Most importantly we NEVER felt rushed and he slowed down to matched our kids pace (Starbucks and candy were also a highlight :-) due to the super hot summer heat. Our kids can be a bit shy with strangers, but Danny kept them involved, had jokes, made it interactive and by the end of the tour he completely won them over! Thank you Danny for your passion and talent! After the tour my kids said “mom he was pretty good, he deserves not 5 but 10 stars!” Just whay we needed!

Die Foodtour war insgesamt ein tolles Erlebnis dank des sympathischen Guides. Allerdings war ich etwas enttäuscht von der begrenzten Anzahl an Restaurants, die wir besucht haben. Es gab definitiv Raum für mehr kulinarische Vielfalt.
Die Tour war etwas auf Alkohol ausgelegt, obwohl zwei von vier von uns nichts trinken. Es gab leider kaum Flexibilität - zumindest hat der Guide weder vor der Tour noch währenddessen unsere Wünsche abgefragt.Toller Guide aber zu wenig Stationen

Our guide Maria was great and gave us a good introduction to a lot of features in the old town as well as being ready and able to answer questions on a number of topics about the city.
The various food stops were all busy (proving just how good they were) but spaces had been pre-booked for us. Maria had selected a great set based upon her detailed knowledge, prior visits to them (and many others) and a deep interest in the subject.
