Anastasia speaks fluently English and has shown us some little hidden gems of Berlin that you would never see as a traditional tourist. Having Anastasia as my guide off-the-beaten path was a mini adventure as she gave the rich history of the artist’s contributions, the immigrant’s plight, and the challenges that reunification had for all involved in these surrounding areas that contributed to what Berlin is today. Without a knowledgeable guide I would have walked passed some significant landmarks and communities that I can now appreciate!Better than expected!

I had an amazing tour with Anastasia!! I learned so much about both historical and modern day Berlin! I can’t do this tour justice in a review! Anastasia made me feel so comfortable, we immediately had a great rapport, I felt like we molded the tour together (she had a great tour laid out but based on my interests she adjusted some of the destinations and timing) and I had some amazing local treats along the way! She has a passion for street art and some of the graffiti that would’ve faded into the ambiance of Berlin now sticks out to me whenever I see it and I understand the meaning a lot more now! I have a ton of restaurants that I need to go to now and recommendations for others! I felt like this sped up my Berlin integration a ton!!! Anastasia made us discover the real underground Berlin. She has a real knowledge of street art and its artists. She showed us how Berlin is changing and gave us her point of view as a local. She talked about alternatives groups back in the soviet day, how they were fighting the system and how you could still sense that culture in some neighborhoods. Laat ik het zo uitdrukken ze is. vriendelijk aardig maar is geen local. Ze woont in Berlijn maar spreekt geen Duits en Engels met een zwaar accent. Het kost moeite dat te volgen. Er ontbreekt basis en geschiedkundige achtergrond kennis . Alsof je een Libanees een rondleiding laat doen in in uw Lichtstad Eindhoven en de geschiedenis van Philips niet kent. Hij/Zij leeft er al geruime tijd maar heeft geen Nederlands geleerd en ook geen vriendschap met Nederlanders gesloten. De vrienden van Anastasia spreken ook allemaal Engels. Zwak.

We had the best day with Anastasia on the "Off the beaten track" tour of Berlin. She is very knowledgable, warm and friendly. She showed us lots of street art that we wouldn't have seen otherwise and told us about the artists and the history of street art in Berlin. She also shared her knowledge of Berlin history in general, including the politics of when the wall came down and how this impacted the city and the counter-culture that arose. She went above and beyond, giving us excellent recommendations for restaurants and sites to see in different neighbourhoods, making our trip to Berlin memorable. My mom and I took a 3 hour tour of Berlin with Anastasia and it was a highlight of our trip. We hadn't seen the city at all yet, so Anastasia smartly split the tour up into half classic tourist must-dos (e.g., Brandenburg Gate, Museum Island, Humboldt Forum), and half hidden gems - secret courtyards, the best pastrami place, fascinating hidden gems of art. We spent three hours with Anastasia wandering around the lesser known areas of Berlin, taking in local street art, ducking into an awesome food market, and exploring various artistic havens throughout West Berlin (mostly in the Kreuzberg neighborhood, known for being very hip and alternative but crossing over into East Berlin at the end for a private disco, skate park and beer garden). Anastasia was a wealth of information on Berlin's Cold War and Modern history, she was easy to understand and interact with. Her English was great! She had great stories to share and informative insights into the various artists, galleries, and hidden gems she showed us. The only downside was that it was our most expensive experience in Berlin (being triple the cost of all of our other tours and excursions per person). I'd love to see a "small group" option for this tour instead of a "private" tour to help offset the cost a little per person. SIDE NOTE: this tour is a lot of walking. We averaged 10-12 KM of walking per day while in Berlin and so this tour is not for the feint hearted. We were dead tired and somewhat dehydrated at the end.Berlin Underground - Expensive but Great!

Anastasia is just a lovely person to hang around and to discover Berlin with. She has a great eye for details, knows a lot of hidden places and facts about the different environments, always a smile on her face and definitely worth listening to her food recommendations as well. Even as a "born & raised" Berliner (I mean we never get out of our own Kiezes) we had a blast, learnt a lot and saw places I never knew they actually exist. Obviously gave her a little brief beforehand that I wanted to skip the usual, common sightseeing attractions and she absolutely nailed it and still managed to "entertain" us for 3hours. Surprisingly different from all the common tours, very flexible, can 100% recommend to everyone! With Anastasia me and my 6 colleagues were going through Kreuzberg district in Berlin, we had a tour in Russian language, which is Anastasia's native. The tour was very insightful, the one that can be run not only by the person with a wide knowledge but also by the true local, who knows all the not so well-known best places and stories. Also we had several tastings which made our tour really dynamic and interesting!
