We had a lovely time walking to the market and devouring some unique Latvian food.
A great addition to the tour was stopping at the National Library too.
A great time. Great food tour and history
We had an amazing afternoon with Margita! The food she selected was varied and delicious. On top of learning about the food culture of Riga and Latvia she gave us many insights into the history, architecture and culture of the country. She also gave us many recommendations of restaurants to try and places to visit which made our trip so much more special! An amazing afternoon
Margita was very personable - we enjoyed our time together. The information she shared with us gave us a great overview for our short stay in Riga. We loved the wide boulevards and the Christmas Market still in operation during our stay. We were able to wander around looking at some of the museums she suggested. The art nouveau recommendation was perfect. A great "taste" of Riga
We had a lovely time walking with Margita.
It was cold but Margita kept us moving and we enjoyed all the facts about Riga she gave us.Great Tour
We spent 3 hours with Margita, tasting various foods and hearing about history of Riga and Latvia. It was a lovely time and always gives you a different insight into the place you are visiting.Very knowledgeable and lovely
Margita is an excellent guide with a great knowledge of her home city Riga, historically as well as contemporary.
She has a good feeling of which areas, buildings, shops, spotlights are of interest for her guests.
We achieved a very good impression of a wonderful city in a 3 hour walk.
Thank you, Margita for this exceptional experience!Best of Riga
Margita is such a good guide. She really loves Riga and is eager to show the hidden gems of this beautiful city.
It was the second time I booked her and it felt like coming back to a friend. What a wonderful tour in the rain
We did two tours with Margita in Riga—The 10 Tastings of Riga and Highlights & Hidden Gems of Riga—on consecutive days, and both were excellent!
Margita has incredible knowledge of Riga, showing us all the highlights of Old Town and the Art Nouveau neighborhoods while sharing fascinating insights. Her English is excellent, and her passion for her city really shines through.
The tasting tour was a highlight—stopping at spots like Lido in Old Town and exploring the market, where Margita picked out local foods to create a delightful picnic for us. It was a fun and unique way to experience Riga’s food culture.
Margita has lived in Riga her entire life, and her deep connection to the city makes her tours truly special. I highly recommend booking with her for an engaging and memorable experience!Fantastic Tours with Margita
We had a pleasant time with our guide in the market and seeing the sights of Riga. She was pleasant, seemed knowledgeable and experienced, and proud of her city. However, we felt that the value of the food purchased at the market was not worth the price paid for the tour (bread, cheese, berries, pastry, smoked meat, and one small beer).Pleasant but pricey
We enjoyed our food tour of the market and got to try lots of local specialities. Margot’s also gave us some great eating and shopping tips. Fun tasting tour around Riga
This tour with Margita was one of the highlights of our stay in Riga. She brought real depth and history to it so the places we went were special, and not the same places that "everybody else" goes.
Well done Margita you one of the best tour guides we have been with.Highly recommmended food tour by a local
We loved our tour with Margita! Her knowledge, enthusiasm and charm brought Latvian life and history into focus for us. She showed us and told us about so many special things in Riga. I would absolutely do it again. Excellent Tour!

Margita took us on a varied tour around Riga. We started at the Freedom Monument and weaved our way around the hidden streets of old town before moving in to the new town. The highlights for us were the Art Nouveau area. Riga is a fascinating city and a personal tour, for us , allows us to really understand it's history, culture and people. Margita was a great guide and is clearly passionate about her city and county. Private tour of Riga
Margita is a great guide and highly experienced. We had a two hour tour and I wished we had booked more time with her. She is not only a wonderful guide, she is also a proud citizien of Riga and a great artist. She gave us many details, answered all of our questions and had very good advice for further things to do and see. I would recommend her as a MUST HAVE if you want to get to know Riga and the life of the Latvian people off the beaten tourist track.Very special experience, wonderful time
Margita was an amazing tour guide. She was passionate about her city and showed us an amazing sample of breathtaking Art Nouveau. She was engaging, friendly and knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. Wonerful tour with Margita
Margita was a very interactive guide for our 8 persons weekend trip to Riga. We spend one morning walking through Riga seeing all the beautiful architecture and hearing the stories behind it from Margita. Another half day we took the train to the beach Jurmala where we did a bike tour along beautiful houses and back over the sandy beach, finishing with a very cosy lunch together with Margita. It was all a lot of fun, largely because we could ask Margita many questions, she told background stories and we had great discussion with her, enriching our knowledge about Latvia. When you want to learn and have fun, Margita is the way to go :)Wonderful interactive guide to see Riga
Margita is a fantastic guide. You can tell that she really enjoy showing "her" town Riga. Relevant and very interesting about the history of Riga in a friendly and very engaging way.
You will have a great experience.
Best,
YlvaFantastic guide
Margita was a wonderful guide. She was thoughtful, caring, and easy going. We needed some warmer clothes and Margita brilliantly helped us find some so we could continue the tour with a higher degree of comfort. She had good energy and we completed the tour with adequate time to make it back to the cruise ship.
Margida met us at the Freedom Monument. She was the perfect guide, and had a great knowledge.
She took us to places We wouldn’t find our selves. 2 great days in Riga
Our group had such a lovely time with Margita. She is so kind and willing to share all of her thoughts and opinions about Latvia. We never expected to enjoy a tour so much, but our whole group fell in love with her and we were thrilled to be able to meet her just a few days later in the Art Nouveau section of Riga. Margita took careful planning of our whole food adventure and we received a well-rounded view of so many things through her stories and tastings.Flavor, culture and fun!
We were a group of 4 old friends from Scotland, visiting Riga for the first time.
Margita met us at our hotel and we spent the next three hours walking, talking and sharing a coffee. Margita is the perfect host city guide - very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, articulate and passionate about her city, its architecture, people and history.
I would highly recommend a tour with Margita for your introduction to Riga and Latvia. Thank you. Impactful experience
Margita is a very polite and lovely Guide! Since she is born in Riga, she knows the City very well and especially it's history as well as all those hidden gems you'll barely find on your own. It was a pleasure to listen to all those little stories Margita could tell about a lot of places... Before our Tour with Margita, we saw the beautiful City, with her, we understood the City... something you can't find in written Travelguides. Thank you very much for a comfortable and eye-opening Tour Margita, you've made our travel special! awesome Guide to discover Riga
We had a really lovely time on this food tasting tour. Our host, Margita, was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, friendly and welcoming (she gave us a little foodie birthday present!) and showed us the best food sites of Riga along the way, as well as general recommendations for our visit. It was great to discover the city with a local! Thanks Margita!Gorgeous tour of Riga
Margita is a true gem and very charming and funny!
One thing that prevented the perfect score: we thought that we can taste more of the local bites - in the end it was mainly cake in one coffee place. According to the description we expected to go to different places and taste more than just sweets.
For that, 50+ euro/ person is a bit price heavy.
But Margita is a perfect guide!Good tour with charming guide
I booked the tour by myself, so I was a bit worried that it might be awkward with just me and the guide. But Margita was so friendly and open that I had nothing to worry about!
She really knows her history and has lots of interesting tidbits about the city and the country and made sure it's presented in an engaging way while we enjoyed a walk through the city.
Thank you for the wonderful two hours together, it was great getting to know you and I had a fantastic time.Margita is a wonderful guide

My teenage son and I traveled to Finland, Estonia and Latvia. We enjoyed all our tour guides but Margita was the best! She may be one of the best tour guides we have ever had on our travels and we have been on quite a few! She has a great way with people- making us feel welcome and at ease. She is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Riga. And it is clear that she is so proud of her country. We fell in love with Riga after our tour with her!Best tour guide on our Baltics trip!
It was very nice to do the walking tour with Margita, getting to know the lovely details of history, architecture, culture and art of Riga, with some tastes of local small cafes. Very cautios about our requirements, wants and needs.

Margita was such a tremendously knowledgable guide for our one day tour of Riga. She was patient with us and explained things clearly, and we loved how she led us to each knew spot taking time to educate us, then, pause, and asked us to turn around to breathtaking scenery. She also took the time to add in a short trip for coffee to the beach side town of Jurmala which was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and our only challenge now is trying to find another guide like Margita! We Loved Our Riga Tour with Margita!
Margita is so impressively knowledgeable, she loves her town and has a great passion to transfer this knowledge and to let other people have a glimpse of Riga through her eyes. She's a pleasant person to walk around in the city. I feel that I truly gain a lot and got a pick to the complex beautiful history and culinary landscape of Riga. Highly recommended. Interesting full with content tour
Having lived through the Soviet occupation, and growing up in the area, Margita has unique knowledge of how things have changed. She was very thoughtful in selecting local foods and personally interesting. I can definitely recommend her without hesitation.Great host
We spent an afternoon with Margita walking around the Riga central area as well as the central market.
