We spent a wonderful morning with Paolo learning about the Roman Empire! He entertained all - young (our four children aged 8 years to 13 years) and old. He is a natural storyteller and a font of knowledge. We had such a wonderful tour with Paolo around the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. It was a hot day and prior to the tour I could tell our girls, 11 and 7 were worried they’d get hot and bored but Paolo did a wonderful job telling them stories to keep them engaged. He had photos and videos to bring it all to life and found lots of places for shade to keep us cool. My husband and I had done this tour 10 years ago but I learned so many new things from Paolo. We booked a 90 minute tour of the Colosseum with Pietro Paolo. The administration of booking and connecting was highly efficient and user friendly. Pietro Paolo was extremely welcoming and helpful ahead of our trip and made the logistics and planning very easy. The actual tour was phenomenal, Pietro Paolo's background knowledge, level of detail and understanding, coupled with his ability to communicate not just fluently in English, but with nuance and metaphor was fantastic. He brought the Colosseum alive for us and skillfully described not just the brilliance of the engineering for its time, but the historical purpose and many more broader learnings that can be taken away from the Romans and how they existed.Best tour guide you will find

We ( Parents) were looking forward to this tour. Having been to the Coliseum years ago BK (before kids), we thought it would be more meaningful and engaging for the kids (10 and 14) to have our own guide. TBH they were already moaning about the 3hr length even before the start of the tour! Thankfully our guide Paolo was brilliant. His knowledge and story telling was engaging and captivating that the kids quickly forgot about the time and the heat! It was a truly enjoyable and very informative tour! Pietro took us on a truely immersive tour of the Forum Romanum and the Colosseum. His knowledeg, his entertaining stories and the help of the ipad really brought the past alive. The tour was also really well planned and ended on an absolute highlight, looking down in the arena of the colosseum. Best tour we have done, by far! Paolo was easily the best tour guide we’ve ever had. He was personal, charismatic, and ready to assist our needs. We LOVED his stories. In the middle of our tour, we mentioned that our daughter loved mythology and Paolo lit up with happiness. He proceeded to tell us about the entire mythology behind the Roman Forum, relating every detail to what we were seeing at the time. Our tour guide Paolo was the best! Very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered each and every question we had. No matter how silly. He joked with us and informed us of several facts that we did not know. He was packed full of so much good information. We enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and surrounding area with Pietro! He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much in the tour. We loved being able to freely ask questions and give thoughts during the tour and talk with him about ancient Roman times. Pietro was engaging and with teens and a 5yo he made it interesting for all. He was able to paint us a great visual representation of the area and we all went away with a greater understanding and appreciation of the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and area. If you are on the fence about doing a private tour I highly recommend doing it! It was so much more intimate and enjoyable than a large tour group. We were able to take our time and make the tour more personalized and thus memorable for our family. We are still talking about what we learned and telling others about this tour! Pietro Paolo showed us the Colosseum and Forum. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer - from architecture to history. He kept a great pace and tailored the visit very subtly to our wishes - super attentive. Paolo organised a phenomenal tour of the Forum and the Colosseum for one adult, a history-buff 12 year old, and a superhero-fan 9 year old. He managed to keep us all entranced for 3 hours, in high heat and big crowds. Paolo had put a great deal of thought into how to run the tour, and adapted along the way as the kids asked him for story after story of Rome. He was personable and patient, and very understanding about the kids need for toilet stops and shade. I would recommend Paolo's tours without reservation. He could answer every question we had about Roman history and made the experience really fun as well as educational. Incredible tour - couldn't be happier

we met Pietro exactly where and when he said he would be. The tour gave us access to parts of the colosseum that we would not have been able to view and also allowed us easy entry and to skip the long lines. Of particular interest was the training of the gladiators and the lives that they lived, albeit short for many. Very knowledgeable, prompt and polite.

Paolo has an amazing knowledge of Roman history and a wonderful personality to lead tours. He was very friendly and conscientious of our speed (we were a bit slow with jet lag) and always made sure that we were going at a comfortable pace. His knowledge of Ancient Rome (and also more modern history) was fantastic - he answered every question we had, and posited some of his own theories and local customs. It brought Rome alive for us.
