The tour with Pietro Paolo was fantastic. My son is seven and has a passion for the Roman Empire. Pietro Paolo made it all come to live on our tour through the Colosseum and the Foro Romano. He made the history of these places very interesting and had a lot of funny and astonishing facts as well as pictures that showed what it was like at the time. I can recommend this tour 100 %. Paulo was a fantastic guide and I couldn't recommend him too highly. From the point of booking, his communication was excellent, clear and very helpful indeed. We booked Paulo for a tour of the Colosseum, wanting to gain a better historical understanding than we might have done from the audio guide or the boards around the site. And we had a much, much better experience than we could possibly have hoped for - Paulo really is a passionate historian and incredibly knowledgeable about all of Rome. We had already covered so much of the history even before we walked through the archway and onto the Arena floor and Paulo made it completely come to life for us as we entered the Arena. He answered our questions brilliantly - the history, the architecture, the nature of the games, the animals, the gladiators, the emperors and the citizens and so much more AND his many pictures and historic images helped to further illuminate and enhance the experience. I think our tour over-ran a bit as Paulo was happy to answer all of our questions in great detail and with true depth of knowledge, being very generous with his time and knowledge and very patient with all our questions. If you are looking for a guide who will bring historic Rome to life, is a font of fascinating information, as well as being charming and helpful - pick Paulo for your tour!.Fantastic guide, highly recommended

We greatly enjoyed our morning tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum with Paolo. He clearly communicated our meeting spot, was punctual and very patient with our family throughout the tour. I had such a good time with Pietro! He was full of information and took the time to explain some very interesting details that you definitely would not get listening to an audio guide! You may think spending the extra money on a private tour guide is extravagant, but I promise you, Pietro was worth every euro! Prior to even meeting him, he communicated regularly through the app and I never had any questions of what I needed to do next. My husband and I had an amazing 3 hour tour of the Colosseum & Surroundings with Pietro. I was greated by Paulo (Pietro) early and the tour was everything I expected and more. Paulo knew so much history and we also had a good laugh along the way. We really enjoyed our tour with Pietro. He was very knowledgeable and blew us away with information. I do believe the site should have been more informative of the breakdown of costs. Our tour cost 498 Euros for 3 people for 3 hours. Then an addition of 150 Euros total for tickets, which we thought were inclusive of the tour cost. So overall a hefty tour cost.Loved our tour

Pietro was our guide for the colosseum and the forum. We had our 18 year old grandson with us so loved how Pietro was able to keep him engaged. We learned so much about how the games were played and then about the palaces and forum hill. Pietro doesn't just recite names, dates and places he really creates a picture you can imagine of a complex time. I'd do another tour with Pietro.Great way to learn about the colosseum

My family had the wonderful experience of touring the Colloesuem, Emperor's Palace and Forum with Paolo. I would recommend any tour he offers. Paolo was patient and messaging us as we found the drop off location, which he shared detailed information about, but our taxi still dropped us off on the other side. Paolo's love of history and Rome was clear the whole time. He is a great storyteller and shared a lot of description about the places we were seeing in a way that brought the ancient ruins to life. I appreciated that he would repeat certain points when they were relevant again on the tour to help us commit them to memory and have the information really sink in. He was thoughtful and observant with what worked best for our family be it using the elevators or staying in one spot longer, as my husband and I were on the tour with our toddler, who slept most of the time in her stroller and then the last portion was running everywhere looking for kittens or rocks to climb. I had taken a larger group tour of the Colloesuem and Forum many years ago, but would definitely recommend the one-on-one experience with Paolo over that. We saw way more and learned way more! I already loved Rome and love it even more. Anyone would be lucky to have a tour with Paolo.Definitely Recommend Paolo!

I went to Rome with my 10 year old child (who does not speak a lot of English), and with 38 degrees celcius I know this day could go a lot of different ways. But Pietro Paolo was so professional and patient for the full tour of first Coloseum and later Palantine hill and the old archeological remains. He was so patient with my child, and interacted back an fourth with her during the show, often with me as interpretor, sometimes without. But apart from this (that was the high point of our visit to Rome), he was so knowledgeble and brought a binder with extra material, showing pictures how sights looked two thousand years ago from the spots where we were all standing, which made it much easier to visualise the scenery. I would recommend him in a heart-beat to anyone who wants to learn more about coloseum and ancient Rome.A very patient and knowledgeble guide

Pietro Paulo gave us a fabulous introduction to Rome. With the golf cart we were able to see many more sights than we might have managed otherwise. We’d never been inside before and were blown away with this tour. Pietro Paolo is clearly passionate about his profession and about his home city of Roma. The stories he shared and picture he painted in our minds for us was spectacular. As an adult family of four, this couldn’t have been any better other than attending at night time but we did not plan far enough ahead for that and those tickets are quite limited. Now that we have spent time with our “local” I wish we were here longer to attend other tours he could offer. Having him tour us through the Pantheon would’ve been amazing. Absolutely breathtaking experience
