Joao was a wonderful tour guide! Our family of four loved strolling the streets of the iconic Montmartre neighborhood. He showed us all the greatest local spots. It truly felt like we were hanging out with an old friend and the huge bonus is that we have pictures that captured one of the best experiences on our trip. We just returned from a family trip, and while looking for a unique, family-friendly tour (our kids are 10 & 6), came across this experience with Joao. What better way to explore Paris and to document our kids' first trip abroad. Joao was incredibly flexible with our schedule and was able to change the meeting point to include a site we wanted to have photos near. Joao is an amazing guide and photographer. My sister and I had so much fun wandering the streets with him and meeting locals in various shops. We leaned so much about the area and really felt like we were traveling with a friend. We love our photos and the time we spent. Joau was terrific, we liked him immediately. He was right on time, early actually, which I appreciate. While showing us around town he highlighted some must go to places as a local will know. Joao is a good guide, very familiar with the neighbourhood of Montmartre district. He has given us a great start on the first day we arrived paris. He is patient and accomodating, as we have postponed our schedule to late afternoon due to hotel checkin. The photos he delivered exceed our expectations and he knew how to catch the cute moments of our 5-year-old girl. It is a good memory for our family. I recommend this tour to everyone. Joao was a wonderful guide and photographer! We really appreciated his flexibility. Our kids were a bit jet lagged, we were up against some rainy weather, and, we had a train to catch right after our tour. Juan couldn't have been kinder to our family! His flexibility was much appreciated. We have been to Paris before, but never Montmartre. Juan showed us some amazing shops that the average tourist may just walk by... yes there are some big sites in the area, but the small shops are so much more charming. We could have spent hours visiting each one! Our kids loved buying treats, and we saw so much more with Juan who could navigate the busy crowds like a pro. We had a great time with Joao on our photo tour of Montmartre. Having lived in the neighborhood for 20+ years, he is wealth of knowledge, and it was lovely to leisurely stroll around and learn about the history of Montmartre and how it has changed over the years. We stopped and got snacks at a couple places, he pointed out the THREE "Meilleure Baguette de Tradition Française" on Rue des Abbesses as well as other "best of" spots, including ones that locals go to. He talked about Amelie changed parts of the neighborhood. Our family had a memorable afternoon with Joao. First, he's a super nice guy who is easy to like. He was great with our kids. A gentle, calm, kind soul. He's a great photographer. These are the best family photos we've ever had. Everyone on Facebook after we posted was asking, "Where the heck did you find that photographer? Those pics are just fab." The best ones were little places we never would have thought to stop and have a picture taken. But he directed us there and BAM--genius. I never would have stopped and taken that picture, and we think of ourselves as good iphone photographers. Best money we've ever spent on family photos.Amazing experience

We had two teenagers on their last day of a week in Paris. We had to reschedule from our first day of the week because if weather. Joao was super flexible and gracious about stopping in cafés and going at the kids’ pace. What a fantastic experience we had with Joao Luiz seeing the sights of Montmartre. Joao gave us a very easy to find meeting location and arrived on time. We were immediately put as ease by his friendly manner and really enjoyed spending our time with him. Joao is so knowledgeable of the local area and we saw a completely different area to Paris than we have before. The conversation and topics flowed easily along with Joao sharing history information etc. Time and consideration was taken when taking our photos helping make us feel more comfortable. He toured us around the Eiffel Tower (our request), and took some wonderful photos of our family and some great individual ones of our kids. We toured with Joao on our first night in Paris and it could not have been a better experience! Montmartre is such a beautiful area and I know we would not have seen all it has to offer without the stories and guidance of a great guide. This experience was such a lot of fun. Joao was the perfect host. He made us feel so welcome, paced the experience really nicely, was generous with sharing his photographic knowledge and expertise with the keen photographer in our group, made sure we saw all the interesting sites, gave great recommendations for food, showed us some delicious local specialities and was just a super-friendly and thoughtful host. We did the photography tour of Montmartre with our four kids (ages 10, 8, 7 and 8 months old) and absolutely loved it. Joao was friendly, very knowledgeable, accommodating and best of all, made the kids feel comfortable (they are usually very shy). The kids enjoyed the tour and engaged with Joao quite easily, chatting and having fun sampling treats and “best of” Paris pastries. We highly recommend this tour, it was a great way to explore Montmartre with kids and the two hours passed easily plus we got some great family / kids photos to commemorate the experience. Joao met us exactly on time exactly where he said he'd be. We walked through the streets of MontMarte while he gave us a local's insight on what we were seeing and experiencing. All the while he—a professional photographer and journalist—captured our time as a family with his camera. Joao Luis was an amazing host, he showed my family the neighborhood he calls home, Montmatre. One of the *absolute highlights* of our trip to Paris was strolling through Montmarte with Joao from With Locals! Joao's genuine warmth and enthusiasm combined with his intimate knowledge of this picturesque and historic enclave of Paris made for a memorable and lovely outing. An experienced photographer with an artist's eye, Joao shot beautiful photographs that captured our excitement and the gorgeous surroundings. He also shared a few photography tips with my 11 year old daughter and encouraged her in this regard, as she loves taking photos and learning new techniques. It was a rainy day but that didn't dampen the fun in the least. This tour was one of the highlights of our first trip to Paris! We decided to take the Metro to the meeting location in Montmartre. Easy, peasy! Joao’s knowledge and fun facts about the area made the experience so much fun. The locations we stopped by were so authentic and we could have purchased something at each location that had food. In retrospect, we wished we had 😂😂. He did a great job of taking photos of each of us and all of us as a family. It was perfect even on a day where it could have rained. He had a contingency plan and said pics would be good with Parisian umbrellas. A true professional! I’d love to come back in the summer and do this again. Fantastic Tour with Joao
