My wife and I came to Napoli for the first time and Gennaro treated us to a lovely experience. I found Gennaro on with locals and he was highly reviewed. He is very knowledgeable and was very helpful to planning our vacation. We met up for a mixed food and city discovery tour with Gennaro. He took us both by foot and in vehicle to see some of the most amazing sites. He took us down some paths less traveled, some incredible scenic views, and through the hustle bustle must see areas of Napoli. The multiple food stops along the way really was some incredible delicacies of sweet savory and of course, fried. After eating the multigenerational real deal Neapolitan pizza, I don’t think I can ever have pizza anywhere else again. It’s very difficult to put into words our tour with Gennaro, as I was quite moved by the end of it. Gennaro highlighted the complexities of this incredible city as he guided us around. He sees the city from the eyes of a local, but also from the eyes of an outsider, thanks to time he also spends away from Naples. He explained Naples’ history, how it developed, and how it works today. We walked the main streets, wandered the Spanish Quarter and also took the Funicular to see a truly amazing view of sprawling Naples. We had a group of eight of us on our historical walking tour and pizza-making class with Gennaro. I can't express how incredible our experience was! In all, we spent four hours with Gennaro, first with a walking tour of the Old Town, where we learned about the millenia of history that make Naples what it is today. We had two kids in our group, ages 10 and 12, and Gennaro did an exceptional job of making sure they followed everything and were involved in every detail (like when we went into a special shop that makes very unique Neapolitan nativities out of cork) and had all their questions answered. We learned about the historical gates of the city and went to the old fish and food market street. It seemed like everywhere we went, everyone knew Gennaro! He was kind, fun, and took every details into consideration and control, which was great in a city as busy and sometimes overwhelming as Naples! There are so many words that I can use to describe how amazing the pizza-making class was at Gennaro's apartment, but here are just a few: delicious, special, memorable, fun. I would take that class again! We all learned so much and enjoyed every moment of it. In all, I can't recommend Gennaro highly enough. Your group will enjoy your time with him! And we thank Gennaro for helping us with details that made our day in Naples even easier, such as helping to manage our luggage storage and transport. What a fantastic tour. Gennaro is warm, genuine, knowledgeable, funny and engaging. He loves sharing his hometown of Napoli, not as a tour, but rather an experience. I felt like walking through a new town with a dear friend, whom we knew only for a few hours. The 3-hour tour flew by as we sampled some of Napoli’s famous foods… mozzarella, cuoppo, taralli, pasta, sfogliatelle, limoncello, espresso and, of course, pizza. Good communication with Gennaro who offered to take us from our hotel in Pompeii to Ravello. A good organiser and we did all we wanted without stress. We had coffee in a cafe near a car park in Positano and walked around without too many steps involved! He found a great restaurant by the sea in Amalfi and dropped us off, right by it. A good, safe driver, fun to be with and we enjoyed his company. He managed to find olive oil for me to taste & buy and on a photo stop, we experienced an engagement! A great day. I had the absolute pleasure of spending a few hours with him in what turned out to be the highlight of my entire trip to Italy. Gennaro is a passionate storyteller, a true local, and someone who genuinely loves sharing the soul of his city. This wasn't just a pizza class – it was a deep dive into Neapolitan culture, history, and, of course, incredible food. All in all, the pizza class was the perfect mix of learning and laughter — super informative and tons of fun! We started with a walk through a local market, where Gennaro pointed out his favorite ingredients and shared stories about Naples' food traditions. Then we moved to his kitchen space, where we learned how to make real Neapolitan pizza from scratch – dough, sauce, the perfect stretch, cooking, everything! But the best part? Sitting down at a big table, like part of his family, and enjoying our creations alongside some amazing local wine! Gennaro made sure we tasted things I would never have discovered on my own. I left full, happy, and already dreaming of coming back. This isn’t just a food experience, it’s your chance to meet Gennaro, the heart and soul of Neapolitan hospitality. We loved our time with Gennaro - he is such a warm person with a huge amount of knowledge of not only food in Naples but also its history and culture. We had our 9 year old son on the tour and Gennaro kept him completely engaged (which is a hard thing to do), without ever talking down to him. The food was great and portions were so generous that we couldn’t eat for the rest of the day. We would highly recommend Gennaro’s tours to others. One of our favourite days in Italy
