The trip was ok. Chandika was on time and the vehicle was great. The driver was very nice too. The downside was there was nothing really to see in Colombo. The trip seemed very expensive for what I got. Note everything is an extra charge and the guide was very happy to spend your money. We used Nuwan to book our two week tour in Sri Lanka and had Krishan as our driver. From start to finish they couldn't have offered us a better service, always early and well dressed and knew exactly our plan for the day, calling ahead to hotels to check everything was in order and advise our arrival time. We had an excellent experience with our driver. Unfortunately our plane was delayed by 2 hours but he was still there waiting for us with a smile on him face. The minivan that collected us was is excellent condition, verging on luxury. We had a driver and tour guide which seemed excessive for 2 of us but was included in our price and he had great knowledge. The tour was everything we've planed. The host took us to all the places we wanted and also showed us a couple of great places we woldn't be able to find otherwise. Chandika is friendly and helpfull, and even though we had some difficulties communicating, we had a good time traveling Kandy with him.Nice two day tour.

Chandika was punctual at arriving and picking us up from our hotel in Kandy. At first we thought we would just have a driver but Chandika was a great tour guide and actually explained a lot of things. He arranged the whole experience for us to suit our needs including visiting the temple of the tooth relic, elephant orphanage, botanical gardens, as well as a traditional Kandyan dance, a tea factory where we could purchase tea too, and plenty of scenic spots to take lots of nice photos including Kandy view point. The best part about the tour was it was completely customised to suit our needs and preferences. My mother suffers from travel sickness and Chandika made sure that the driver changed the route and stopped dad a few places for her to get fresh air. In addition, we had lunch together at a good buffet selection and was very tasty. We also booked Chandika to take us to Ella from Kandy the following day of our tour which he included in our tour price - very reasonable indeed given the price. We also stopped along the way to see a village nicknamed Little England that was very pretty. Overall Chandika was excellent at making sure all our needs and requests were fulfilled - I would recommend his services if you are visiting Kandy. Nothing was too much to organise. Chandika and his driver took us exactly where we wanted to go, from Kandy to Sigiriya and Dambulla. He was friendly and informative and English reasonably good. We declined the recommended village tour and lunch, which was fine, Chandika will tailor the itinerary to your requirements. Stopped at a couple of interesting places on the way back. We returned to Kandy quite late, so Chandika offered to take us to a local takeaway for food. This was his idea, and it worked a treat, and a great way to end a long and rewarding day. Thanks Chandika! Not the cheapest way to book a car and driver, but we would consider doing it again.Exactly where we wanted to go

Nuwan picked us up at Hingurahgodo. Our plane was delayed, but Nuwan adjusted the plan and brought us directly to the ancient city Polonnaruwa. The city was most impressive. The next morning a smiling Nuwan took us up on to the Sigirya Rock. A breahtaking view! After a good lunch wth local food, we were taken on safari to Kadulla National Park. Here we got a close encounter with more than 100 elephants! The next morning, we left for Kandy. Nuwan used his local knowledge and guided us through elephant orphanage, spice gardens & a teafactory- interesting! In Kandy we were shown the Temple of the Tooth & a performance by local dancers. All in all - Nuwan had a positive attitude, were able to improvise and had many suggestions to sights. Thank you for a unforgettable trip!Three nice days with Nuwan!

Nuwan Chandika organized two days for us—a tour day and a travel day—and we can say that the man has the transportation hook-up! Both days we rode in comfortable, modern vans and got to our many destinations quickly and safely due to the drivers' experience and skill. We couldn't have been happier with the vehicle situation, and we found Nuwan's prices to be on-par or slightly better than comparable services we found. Nuwan himself joined us as our guide the first day during our tour of the area around Kandy, and we benefited from his local knowledge and his snapshot savvy. Nuwan's expertise is primarily of a practical sort, and he was able to get us in a prime position for seeing elephants on the move, he made sure our shoes were stashed safely at various temples, and he got us perfectly aligned for a couple stunning vacation portraits. His mastery of Sri Lankan history is a bit spotty compared to his practical knowledge, so if you're looking for a comprehensive backstory, you may need to read-up in advance. Nuwan was attentive and adaptable, and when we needed to visit a pharmacy for a couple forgotten items and return to the hotel for cooler clothing, he was able to fit both sidetrips smoothly into our day. A final word of notice: Nuwan's tour included a few moments where we were hustled for rupees—by the elephant handlers, some tea pluckers, and the staff of an iffy "spice garden"—and Nuwan didn't intervene or prepare us with a suggestion for an appropriate tip. None of these situations felt dangerous or ruined our day, but we suggest that travelers keep in mind that it's not a luxury tour and that alertness is necessary.Nuwan knows the best drivers

Chandika was absolutely amazing.he made our day so easy and seamless while we enjoyed sigiriya, Dambulla and the Hindu temple. He was fast at communicating with us as we were last minute. He helped us figure our times at a very reasonable rate and was on time picking us up. His car was comfortable and his driving great. He was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to He gave us little tid bits about kandy and the sights without being overwhelming. He also took us to a great place for lunch that fit our budget. It felt like we were spending the day with one of our friends. He made the day amazing for us. If you're on the fence about doing this just do it! You will not regret it. We had a great time with Nuwan! He was all ready as soon as we arrived to the airport. He helped me get a SIM card for my mobile and was very accommodating to our needs throughout the trip. Our first stop was a large temple en route to Kandy. Nuwan had a huge amount of information to provide and took us around the entire temple. After we went to the French cultural house/museum where we enjoyed more local information. Next we had lunch at a nice restaurant that had a buffet. The food was delish! Nuwan went above and beyond and took us to the rail station to investigate tickets for the following day. He also showed us where to procure beer and wine :) Nuwan dropped us at our guest house and was very professional, informative and kind in all his ways. Our first visit to Colombo. Nuwan had made special arrangements so that he could get into the port and meet us at the ship with a sign so that we could find him easily. His vehicle was clean, spacious and comfortable, and the driver was excellent. Nuwans tour included all that were 'must see' in Colombo and was a very interesting day. Nuwan met all needs and requirements, and explained fully what we were seeing and where we were going. Nuwan had also gone to a lot of trouble to arrange a special visit to an orphanage, which was one of the highlights of our trip. A very interesting and exciting day. We arranged a 2 day tour with him. We start it in Kandy, he is the owner of a good minibus Toyota with us there was also a driver. As programmed we stop in Matale to visit the Siri Muthumariamman Thevasthanam (nothing special and without special explanations from him). The second visit was the Aluvihara temple (we enjoyed it). Then as programmed we drove to Polonnaruwa some km before we stopped for a snack in a petrol station then we drove really slow for some auteurs km and we stop again in a buffet restaurant where was no possible to have just some rice in an acceptable price. So we decided to don't stop for lunch. Once in Polonnaruawa we rent 3 bicycles and I paid the one for my guide it was not a problem for me but paid it 3000 rupee (at evening I read on my guide book that the price for a bicycle for one day is 200-300 rupee. I paid more that tree times the rights price. For me A local guide must help me to pay the right price!) Polonnaruwa is a great place to visit by bike. Your guide just explained something end the asked us to read your guidebook!! So for it you can do by yourself. We stayed in a hotel booked in advance by myself it was great. The day 2 after had read the price for the bicycle I snow it to him and he told us that the price are grooved anyway from now I stopped to trust in him. We visited Sigiriya Rock riding your guide book after it He offered us to do a tourist activities around Sigiriya but we didn't do it ( there was to negotiate the price) then we visit a dirty SPA. On the way back we enjoyed the Dampulla cave temple. For us lucky was to late to visit the spices gardner. At time to pay he asked me to pay again the 20% that I had already pay as deposit. I had a very nice Kandy tour with Nuwan. We started early from Colombo, had some breakfast and went to see the elephants at the Pinnawala Elephant orphanage. We also visited a spice farm, a tea factory and some tempels. I wanted to visit an orphanage too because I had a big box of childrens clothes, shoes and toys with me - Nuwan organized that too. After the Kandy tour I travelled to Galle with a driver that Nuwan organized. I had a very nice day and I can warmly recommend Nuwan as a tour guide.A customized trip with Chandika Nuwan

Chandika is a very nice host who was flexible with our needs and he had a wealth of knowledge about the true culture of Kandy. He took us to the exciting Pinnawela Elephant orphanage where 200 odd giant elephants were bathing nicely. The 1 week old baby elephant was so sweet!
