We were joining a larger group tour 2 days after our arrival in Barcelona. We asked Alessandro to arrange a walking tour that would visit other areas of the city and not overlap the group tour itinerary. We also asked to arrange a day trip out of Barcelona. After providing our interests, we left the rest to him. He provided a suggested itinerary and reserved the entry tickets and train tickets ahead of time so that everything went smoothly His educational background in history was obvious. The second tour with Ivanna went to Girona and to Tossa de Mar with a short swim event. Everything was perfectly prepared here too and it was an incredible experience. The view from the castle was amazing. She came up with several alternatives to design the route with us. The hours flew by. Nevertheless, she tooks extra time to show us more. Seb was amazingly communicative before the day of our tour, so that it was clear what the day would be like, and what the timing would be because I had to catch a plane later that day. He picked me up from my hotel and we headed north. The ride was very comfortable and pleasant, and Seb and I chatted about all kinds of things. Once in Girona, Seb provided a nice background and history of the area, and we walked the entire city, from the wall surrounding the city (you walk ON the wall) to the Jewish quarter, to the cathedral, etc. I had never been to Girona and Seb was the perfect guide to introduce me to the city and to spend the day with. I liked what we saw and did - Girona is pretty - but would have liked more time there getting there at 10:15 and then catching the 13:30 train back made the experience feel a bit rushed. There were some architecturally interesting buildings near the station that I would have liked to have seen. Also, we spent less time in the Jewish museum than we probably would have done without the time pressure. Game of Thrones notwithstanding (we haven't watched one whole episode), there is much merit is visiting this fascinating place. Some of the stairs are steep, but Sebastian easily modified the ascent to the top of the Roman walls for us. Recommended tour, highly recommended guide. My wife and I booked Ilona for a tour of the beautiful Medieval city of Girona, Spain. We met her at the train station in Barcelona at a pre-determined spot and time and she was right on time. She handled all the rail travel details and we had great conversation on the way to Girona. We walked the wall built by Romans and toured the Jewish Quarter along with a visit to the Museum of Jewish History. We visited the Girona Cathedral and Ilona made sure we had a great restaurant to take a lunch break and experience some delicious local cuisine and wine. Sometimes in life you meet people who are genuine, authentic and the best of company. Someone who adds to the colour and richness of life. RK is such an individual. If I’d known what he had to offer, I’d have booked earlier in the evening and insisted it lasted longer. He is engaging, charming, witty and obviously very familiar with the best that Barcelona has to offer. The evening became less about the food and drink (which, by the way, was outstanding in choice and location) and much more about sharing stories and enjoying each others company. We had an incredible time on the 10 Tastings of Barcelona tour with Maria. She was warm, flexible (even rescheduling when our flights were delayed), and went out of her way to accommodate our vegetarian, non-alcoholic family—including our kids (ages 8, 14, and 16) and grandparents! We started the tour with a churro and rich chocolate dipping sauce, and an illuminating description of the structure of contemporary Barcelona which we soon visited. We then went to a neighborhood restaurant where we ate 5 or 6 tapas and had two drinks common to Barcelona. Lusi hat uns (zwei befreundete Pärchen) bei ihrer Tour die Highlights der Altstadt und einige absolute Geheimtipps gezeigt. Auf die Idee, dass man in einem Hotel auf der Rambla einen super Blick vom Roof top hat und einfach mit dem Lift da hinauffahren kann, wären wir von allein nie gekommen. Das kleine Geschäft, in dem "Das Parfüm" gedreht wurde, war ebenfalls ein Erlebnis. In ihrer quirligen Art wusste Lusi so viel zu erzählen, dass die vereinbarte Zeit gar nicht gereicht hat. Es war nicht selbstverständlich, dass sie noch reichlich eine halbe Stunde drangehängt hat. Toll! Außerdem hat sie uns hilfreiche Tipps zu öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln gegeben, verraten, wo man nix essen sollte und wo es die frischesten Lebensmittel gibt (Mercat de la Bouqueria), welche Sachen sich lohnen, besichtigt zu werden und was man als Tourist in dieser schönen Stadt alles zu beachten hat. Am nächsten Tag hat sie uns noch alle Fotos geschickt, die sie gemacht hat und das in bearbeiteter Form!! Lusi ist ein super Guide und hat ihre Begeisterung direkt auf uns übertragen. Unbedingt empfehlenswert, und am besten - so wie wir - gleich am 1. Urlaubstag einplanen. Gut zu Fuß sollte man aber durchaus sein, Lusi ist fit wie ein Turnschuh und flink wie ein Wiesel. After a last minute cancellation from another tour host we were really happy that Maria could accommodate us. Communication was excellent. Meeting was easy.
