Yanira engaged my grandchildren 2 & 3 from start to finish. So friendly and well prepared it was a pleasure to be in her company. Yanira was extremely knowledgeable and the children enjoyed the treasure hunt. The pizza and ice cream at the end were lovely as were the little gifts for the children. Yanira was wonderful. We wanted a guide that would be good with our children ages 8 and 5, and Yanira was perfect. She created a custom tour for us that started at the Spanish Steps walked through Rome seeing major sites like the Pantheon and Trevor Fountain. She was great providing history and culture of the city. When we wanted to stop for lunch to let the kids rest, she recommended a great local place that was off the beaten path. My only complaint was the heat (but that's not Yanira's fault). I'm not sure I'd recommend doing a walking tour with kids in the middle of the summer since there isn't a lot of places to recharge with air conditioning along the way.Great experience in Rome

Spent a wonderful 5 hours with Yanira on a personalized tour for the kids that combined food and history! The kids loved the treasure hunt and Yanira really managed to make them all— including our little 3 year old— feel included and special! Rome is historic and can be daunting to explore/ discover. But Yanira made it so easy and she brought the Roman history to life! She was also patient with my children - which is a plus point, especially in winter! Pre-tour, she followed up and explained the necessary documents and details we'd need to provide. Because Yanira has an art history background, she gave us great insights as we toured the Vatican museum, and before, background upon seeing the monuments which were undergoing restoration ahead of the Rome Jubilee. ## Do note that the queues to the sites, the security checks etc are all mandatory and as a tour guide, she has to prep everyone in the group. Also, note that tickets to the Vatican/ Basilica are timed and you shouldn't miss those timings to have the maximum time allotted inside. Our tour was on a Wednesday and she customised it so we could still visit all the sites, even with the Pope's papal audience. We managed to get pastries, gelato and even pizza along the way and ended at St Peter's Basilica. What a lovely way to spend a morning! Lovely walk with a local History Expert!

Yanira was wonderful, I highly recommend her! We were a blended family group of 9, including grandchildren, parents, and grandparents, with Spanish-only speakers and English-only speakers. Yanira did a wonderful job of switching back-and-forth, not just juggling historical information in multiple languages, but also supporting our widely-varying needs - spotting the lift for elderly grandparents who might have had difficult managing the Colosseum steps, unerringly navigating to the toilets for the pregnant woman in our group, finding the nursing room for our nursing mother. Yanira’s great guidance helped us enjoy both the Colosseum and our family time together - exactly what I was hoping for!Warm, personable, and knowledgeable!

We have been travelling in Greece and Italy as a family for 2 weeks, taking in lots of ancient history with private guides for all major sites. Our three-hours tour with Yanira was hands down the best of our entire trip. Yanira was responsive to any questions ahead of the tour. She was also anticipatory and let us know if the precise day where tickets would go on sale for the Colosseum so that we could purchase them for the appropriate time window ahead without stress. This was our third tour that my wife and I have been on of the Roman Colosseum and Forum. Both previous times were with different tour companies. My family highly recommended using withlocals this time and the experience far exceeded our expectations and was so much better than our previous tours. My wife and I had been on two previous Vatican tours in the past with other companies and our experience with Yanira far surpassed either of them. Her knowledge, enthusiasm and passion for the history and meaning behind everything we saw and experienced in the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's was just incredible and instilled an intellectual curiosity to learn more in our group. Yanira is excellent! Her English is perfect and has a great handle on pop culture and sarcasm to spice up her presentation. She arrived at the Vatican with a few posters/notebooks with reproductions of what we were about to see inside the museum halls and Sistine Chapel. As tour guides are not allowed to give presentations inside the Sistine Chapel, she fully prepared us for the ceiling and Last Judgement so that we could appreciate it once we were inside. We were allowed to stop and talk as we walked through the halls of the museum and luckily it wasn't so impossibly busy that we were able to find a few quiet places to talk. We finished the tour in St Peters and grottoes beneath (the grottoes are an add-on that we had her provide a custom quote for) She spoke to our 11 and 13 year olds with an enthusiastic manner that kept them engaged for 3+ hours of what might be very dry material. She found out that both kids were into Percy Jackson and she was keeping them on their toes with identifying the various Greek and Roman gods. We'd book her again in a second and recommend her to anyone visiting Rome! Excellent presentation tailored perfectly

Yanira is not merely a tour guide; she’s a passionate storyteller with a deep knowledge of Roman history! Our tour group of 4 adults and 2 children to The Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museums and St Peter’s Basilica, were held captive by Yanira’s ability to convey her knowledge in an easy-to-understand manner and impart her passion of Rome to each one of us. She was animated with the kids keeping them entertained throughout and even arranging a “treasure hunt” as part of the tour. We got so lucky with Yanira!! She was a wonderful guide, buying us underground Colosseum tickets when they went of sale (which I wasn’t capable of organising from Australia). Hi - Cannot thank Yanira enough. A wonderful tour, so many stories of Ancient Rome.
