Matteo knows this part of Rome quite well. He knew all the best street corners and architectural elements and how to photograph them. He was able to design the walk with emphasis to my interests - that being street photography. He is also very knowledgeable regarding technical details of photography and will give you useful insights to the extent you want them. Matteo is an easygoing friendly bloke whose love of Roma is evident. We strolled the streets of Trastevere, keeping an eye out for likely photographs, & chatting. He helped me to see what the leading lines might be in photos of buildings & together we looked out for light & shade. This was such a precious memory for us during our visit to Rome. The walk around the neighbourhood with Matteo was such an eye opener. We learnt so much from Matteo — from photography tips to the history of the place and the local life and food of the people. Matteo taught us how to factor lighting in, which resulted in awesome photos. He gave us tips on photography which we will definitely use from now on. We really enjoyed the 3 hour walk with Matteo! He showed us the famously squares, hidden churches and the small streets of Travestere. He told us all about the history of the city, and how to get the perfect pictures: how to play with the sunlight and shadows and how to frame details. And above all, he is very friendly! Matteo met me in Rome for a three hour experience in photography. He was able to share places in Rome that I would never have found myself. We explored a parts of the city that the local people enjoyed. Magnificent churches, philosophy of photography discussion, use of light, photographing people, how to tell a story, visiting a fabulous cafe and even a delicious biscuit shop with biscuit cooking while we were there. My friends and I truly enjoyed our time with Matteo exploring the streets of Travastere in Rome. He is a wonderful, warm person who is a delightful photographer - both from creative and technical perspectives. He is great at making the personal connection to the people he is guiding. In our group we had both beginner and more advanced photographers and he was able to provide each of us a great experience. We met him at 5pm and ended the tour at 8pm - this was a great time to do the tour for the light, shadows, and sunset colors over the river. I had a terrific time with Matteo. He started out asking about some of my photography and what I am interested in. As we walked he discussed light, contrast, shapes, etc. We'd discuss an image and each take some photos. He'd critique and provide useful guidance. Matteo was fantastic! My mom is still raving and commenting on all she learned!!! Matteo was everything the description said. When he found out we had just arrived to Rome that day, he took us on the best walking tour of Rome that hit most of the big sites. We went on an evening tour, and he helped my mom out a lot with taking photos in changing light. I came armed with my iPhone, my mom with her Canon, and we both walked away with some of the best pictures we’ve ever taken. Matteo was knowledgeable, easy to work with, and fun. Matteo is a lovely Guy and a very good photographer. He took me on a day tour and also a night tour. He saved me hours of research and took me in his car, saving me time on busses, taxi's etc. I would 100% recommend Matteo as he knows his way round and can show you shots that are not shown in tour guides, away from the crowds He also does food tours The only difficulty I had was on the With Locals portal. I booked this trip for my wife and I for 2 reasons … 1. to hopefully get some good photographs of our holiday and 2. to learn how to better use the SLR camera that my daughter had lent us for our holiday. However, we got so much more from this experience than we were expecting. First of all, Matteo was a really relatable person … patient, enthusiastic and great company. Secondly, he completely changed my perspective in terms of what to look for and how to capture a good photograph. By the end of the 3 hours (and for the rest of the holiday) it felt like we were looking at things through a different lens and capturing real life and colours in the Trastevere neighbourhood rather than simply snaps of the tourist hotspots. We got some great photos but most importantly Matteo has provided us with a new perspective that will enrich our experiences in the future and for that I am hugely grateful. Thank you, Matteo. I met Matteo on my first full day in Rome. What a great experience walking around the Trastevere neighbourhood, across the Tiber and into the Jewish Quarter. Great photography tips as well as a ton of history around every corner. The tour helped to situate myself and see how people live. Matteo is not just a great photographer, we had an amazing tourist tour together and spent really great time. He showed us amazing places and told amazing stories. It was a real pleasure to spend time together, though we've been with a 10 month old baby. Where do I begin. To start Matteo is a great guys, he is working on cultivating quality tours and experiences for those of us who are visiting Rome. I had the opportunity to take the 3hr photography class with Matteo and it was a wonderful experience. I am a travel photographer with some prior experience shooting with other photographers, but I gain a lot in my time with Matteo. As photographers we all have a way that we see the world through our cameras and we often revert to that same style with out intending to. Matteo help me to step out of my normal system/ style see landscapes / cityscapes from a different perspective and engage with that content with a more critical eye. A fantastic experience. Solo traveller, so was a bit nervous about doing this but so glad I did. Matteo put me at ease immediately. I learnt so much, not only about photography but also some history. The personalised tour made it super special, as we had a shared interest in Renaissance Art & also an appreciation of Architecture. At first sight, Matteo and I were off having fun and taking photos. I learned so much about my camera right away. He would not let me shoot on automatic anymore! Matteo knows how to connect, hear your photo preferences, start from where your photographic skill level is and create the perfect two and half hours together on the streets of Trastevere. My husband, mysef and our granddaughter met the friendly and "fun" Matteo at the pre-determined spot far away from the summer crowds ! From the moment we met he took a brief inventory of the type of equipment we would use and what we might expect from his photography tips and instruction. His informal approach as instructor/mentor for the time we spent with him was relaxed. We wandered in and out of little streets, focusing on photo opportunities and different approaches to what would turn out to be some very interesting photos....... As an unexpected extra, Matteo provided us with some very interesting local history. Matteo was spontaneous and took advantage of chance happenings along the way. For instance, we came across a band playing in the street which lent itself to photographing people "doing something!" We finished our session with a boat load of tips and some ideas that were new to us related to lighting and developing the subject ! We agree that we would HIGHLY RECOMMEND a photography lesson/tour with Matteo for something interesting to do when you finish with the tried and true tourist attractions ! We left with the feeling that we made a friend ! FUN MORNING WITH PHOTOGRAPHER !

While waiting on others to meet me in Rome, I scheduled with Matteo first thing. I had a new iPhoneX, and Matteo helped me with composition and settings. Thanks to him, I had FANTASTIC pictures the rest of my trip.
