We are a family of 4 from Denmark (kids 11 and 15). This was our first visit to Rome and the first thing we had planned was a trip around the city with Amandio. This was the best decision!! Amandio was open to all of our wished and understood what we needed and made many suggestions - once we met we could simply "lean back" and followed along. We went on a walk and a bikeride and had such a great time. We stopped for snacks and coffee along with all the different sights that he showed us. Amandio picked us up (family of 4 with 7 year old twins) from our air b&b and off we went. From the get go he was friendly, charming, educated and made it fun for the kids and adults with stories, games & stopping plenty of times. We decided to take a bike tour with the kids on tandems or on a kids back seat. I am a nervous cyclist but Amandio took us safely through back streets and off the beaten path and I felt totally happy. We saw amazing sights had history explained to us in an informative, educational and amusing way and you can tell that Amandio is a great actor as he knows how to perform in a natural way and keep an audience he is a lovely and authentic person. We loved the tour so much we booked another one 2 days later with him. I don't want to put any spoilers here but just book the tour go with the flow and enjoy the experience of sights and fantastic culture and food spots and his personal recommendations. My young son (almost 4yo) and I had a great time touring Rome with Amandio! From interesting historical facts and sites, to today's best deli shops and even a confiscated goods corner :), Amandio will show it all. He has a lot of energy racing through the streets of Rome on bike (glad we were on an e-bike as recommended😅) but also a lot of patience explaining things. Amandio is a great guide who made the tour an experience for everyone. We felt safe in his hands on e-bikes which at first I was unsure of as my 7 and 11 year old were nervous to ride on the streets of Rome but we had no reason to be because we went mainly through the back streets and side roads and we felt safe at all times. Overall it was extremely interesting and entertaining. Thank you Amandio for also sharing some tips for Rome. We can now say we can drink like Romans (from the water fountains!!) If you are looking for a tour guide that is very insightful about the city and can entertain your little ones with ease, then Amandio is definitely your guy. He was absolutely amazing, very entertaining with fun facts and kept our 5 and 9 year olds engaged the entire 4 hours we booked. Time flew by real fast due to the amount of fun we were having, and we got to cover a great amount of sites to see when touring by e-bike. We even visited several hidden treasures not known by many tourists. It honestly felt like we were experiencing the city with a family member as opposed to a stranger. We highly recommend Amandio!! I recommend Amandio's tours without any hesitation! First, I would like to emphasize and thank Amandio for his flexibility with our family. We had to reschedule last minute and Amandio could accommodate this request without any problem. His tour is not set in stone and he can start your tour from any place in Rome! We travelled with a 4-year old and my mom, who is 75, and it was interesting and entertaining for all! Second, our kid had jetlag and was super difficult to deal with that day, but this was not an issue to Amandio at all! He was creative and attentive and could entertain our kid, while we did not need to lift a finger (well, we actually needed to do so when offered to sample delicious deserts in hidden corners of Rome)! I give this a 10 star because I really enjoyed this experience! Not only did he explain everything simply but he let us ask questions! I really recommend this for any sort of kids looking for a well trained guide. He made us feel welcome and made sure he made sense out of what he said. He also has a book to show us an image on how things were back then. This was helpful for me and I enjoyed the interesting facts he would say. He speaks 5 languages very well too. Not only that but he showed us to a delicious restaurant afterwards. So if u want a tour, don't wait, get yourself tickets to see this wonderful guide. Absolute best tour of our 5 day trip to Rome. Only problem was we did this on day four. To gain the most out of the time with Amando, do it Day one and then you get to revisit your favorites neighborhoods/restaurants etc throughout the trip. We learned more on this three hour bike tour with our two kids, 9 and 2, than we did with any organized tourguide (colosseum, vatican, etc) Armando is great with kids kept them entertained even when our 2 year old was melting down. It felt like we covered every inch of rome in the three hours and def recommend the e-bike option recommended by Amando. You wont regret it, we still talk about it and our 9 year old said it was the best part of the trip! Thanks Amando!Do this DAY ONE!

We really enjoyed the tour with Amandio, his english is spot on and his knowledge about the city and history is impeccable. We rented some electric bicycles which was a great and easy way to move around the city. Specially with a 6y old child, who enjoyed the comfort of the backseat. Amandio is really engaging with kids, takes his time to explain things clearly for them, while at the same time also keeping it interesting for the adults. Changes to the plan or route if asked where never an issue. We had a great day out and our son still finds it the highlight of our trip to Rome. I can highly recommend Amandio. Our walking tour with Amandio was the highlight of our stay in Rome. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Amandio on Sat night. He was full of fun and insightful facts about Rome and Italy and was very engaging with our 6 and 9 yr old sons. While our 9 yr old is very gregarious and inquisitive, Amandio would also engage our 6yr old who is quieter and more reserved. We liked the flexibility of the tour where my wife stopped along the route to buy slippers, and we purchased some local cheese and pancetta from one of Rome’s oldest markets. We saw, learned, & remembered more about Rome during our individualized tour w/Amandio than we would’ve during a larger less intimate tour. My only regret is we started at 18h00 so it got dark near the end of the tour, and while seeing the start of nightlife in Rome was nice, next time we’ll book an earlier time.An insightful touch of Rome w/food & fun

We booked a tour with Amandio because of all of the great reviews from other parents - and he didn't disappoint! He took us on a walking tour of the city (not the whole city... a few neighborhoods we could walk to in 3 hours) and told us so much about its history, present and what makes it special (hint: pretty much everything ;)). He brought a ball for my boys because he knew they love football (aka soccer) so they could kick it around when we'd come to a piazza, and treated us to the city's incredible food scene (fresh fruit at the market, pizza from the oldest pizza shop, gelato and cheese). Hours later, my boys were asking to spend more time with him. It was simply the best way to spend 3 hours in Rome. I can't recommend a tour with Amandio highly enough. A FUN morning in Rome

Amandio is a pro at tours for kids. He managed to quickly suss out how best to interact with our kids, and although they were a tough audience and quite quiet during the tour (probably a bit tired) they DID NOT stop talking about all the things Amandio had told them during the tour for the next few days. My only regret is that we did not manage to book Amandio at the start of our city break, as it would have worked as a brilliant scene setter for the rest of the trip. Amandio more than surpassed our expectations. His arrival immediately captured the imagination of our 3 yr old granddaughter and 17 year old grandson who were entertained until the very end of our tour, as were we. If you are a family with children we highly recommend Amandio for your tour of Rome. Our kids are 13,11, and 5. Our problem with most tours is that our 5 year old gets tired of walking, then gets cranky and becomes a distraction. Amandio completely solved this by bringing his bicycle which he pushed around with our 5 year old riding it! It was genius. We got to see a lot of Rome in just a few hours and hear lots of stories told only as a local can. We are on a 5-week "Grand Tour" of Europe and guides like Amandio are why we are loving the Withlocals platform! -The Parents Mr. Amandio was super nice and showed us a lot of things in Rome. His English was great - sometimes us kids have trouble understanding our guides. Our favorite thing was seeing the Colloseum and hearing the stories about what happened there. Amandio was an excellent tour guide. He adapted the tour to meet our needs with small children and to beat the heat. The kids loved riding his “horse” aka bicycle. My daughter wouldn’t stop talking about it for days after and “wanted to ride that horse again.” He also had an extensive knowledge of Rome and took us to some amazing places for pizza, fruits, and gelato. He had quite a way with the kids. They were entertained the entire time and our kiddos are really small (5 & 2) and difficult to keep entertained. Highly recommend!Outstanding Tour

Our tour with Amandio was absolutely fantastic! For my kids, it was easily their favorite part of our time in Rome. From the second we met him, he had our kids (ages 8, 6, and 4) laughing and fully engaged. We did a lot of walking, so it was super helpful (and way fun) that he let the kids ride around on his "horse" (bike)--which kept their little legs from tiring out too quickly. Despite it being a Sunday, he took us to some delicious eateries where we tried supli, pizza, connoli , gelato, and lattes. We had done a tour earlier that same morning that was marketed as being for kids, but it really wasn't. Amandio, however, is highly skilled in entertaining kids, because he puts on plays for children as his main job, so he really knew how to make things fun for them. Very grateful to Amandio for making our first day and first visit ever to Rome so informative and fun and easy for our kids! They are ages 8, 10, and 13... he knew just how to keep the kids interested, right away by playing soccer with my oldest son in the narrow streets while my youngest one was barely waking up from our long flight. She later was able to ride the “horse” and start on our tour. We were even treated to the best pizza, cappuccino, and canolli’s after a visit to the Pantheon, ancient ruins, the Jewish Ghetto... and ended up at Piazza Navona. He made it a most memorable tour, and the kids loved this tour the best after a handful of tours we did on our trip. Must book Amandio! Best time ever right after landing into Rome for our jetlagged kiddos.

Our family of five did the family tour of Rome with Amandio. He did an awesome job of keeping our boys (ages 8, 12, and 13) engaged while sharing some of the amazing history and culture of the city. We had done an official tour of the colosseum the day before which unfortunately had been too dry for our kiddos. This was a world of difference. The tour we did with Amandio was simply awesome, we chose to cycle bikes and we loved it with our two daughters! Ruby our 6 year old describes the tour as very very very good!! She said it was exciting, funny and she would like to do it all again! Molly our 4 year old said it was the best thing ever, and running under the water fountains was so cool. The whole family had a fabulous time on our tour with Amandio! We loved learning new information about Rome, much of which we couldn’t read about in a typical travel book. Amandio was wonderful! He showed us some of the lesser known parts of Rome and was great with my kids (4&6 yrs)! He even had a toy or two for when they needed something to do. The tour was just the right pace and we loved it.
