We visited Barcelona in September and from the moment we met Pilar we were put at ease and knew we were in good hands. We chose to extend our tour to Park Guell followed by lunch and tour outside Sagrada Familia and inside. Being an artist myself, it was a pleasure to share insights, and get a thorough understanding of Gaudis motivations, intentions and genius. The following day we visited The Salvador Dali museum in Figueres, (highly recommend!) followed by lunch on the Costa brava beachfront topped off with a visit to Pilars glass studio where we were able to get a thorough understanding of her work and techniques. The crowning glory are the pieces that she designed and installed expertly at the Sagrada Familia. All in all we were treated to two fantastic days we will never forget. Thank you, Pilar! We had an enjoyable tour/conversation with Pili. Our tour with Pili was the highlight of 7 days in Barcelona. She has SO much knowledge of Gaudi (and more) and conveys it in a way that is easy to understand (and she's a lot of fun!). I sought out Pilar because of her work at Sagrada. It was quickly apparent that she was a great choice. We exchanged a number of emails and at least one phone conversation structuring our tour to our interests. We ended up expanding our tour to include a number of Gaudi’s buildings as well as his Sagrada master piece. Pilar showed extensive and detailed knowledge of all the buildings involved. She understood my concerns as a photographer in getting good pictures. While I am fairly experienced in digital and iPhone photography for a hobbiest; she showed me a couple of new tricks to better capture the light. Pili is the bet guide we could have hoped for. She brings a unique and immense knowledge of Gaudi and his work. Beyond the historical facts and background of the architecture and artistry, Pili is able to convey the ways that Gaudi saw and treated light. This sounds simple but when she began to explain the complexity and ingenuity of his work we began to see his genius in a completely different way. She also brings complete knowledge of the ongoing work to complete the Sagrada Familia as she has worked there herself for many years and has a history with other artists who have been central to the temple's construction. When we booked our tour with Pili, we knew she was an artist and sculptor, but we didn’t realize what an amazing person she was. Her knowledge and insights into Gaudi were so inspiring and educational; there is no question that this tour was the highlight of our trip to Spain. We absolutely loved the time we spent with Pili in Barcelona. Her knowledge for Gaudi, art, light and architecture is so interesting and easily presented. I didn't want out time to end. I learned so much about Sagrada Familia from her before we went inside but wish I had also planned to have her accompany us inside. If you want to go inside, make sure to purchase tickets in advance as they sell out in peak season. I highly recommend Pili to anyone interested in knowing more about Gaudi and his work in Barcelona. It became evident during our pre-tour discussions that Pili was so knowledgeable and passionate about Gaudi and the Sagrada that we extended out tour. Pili's patience helped plan the perfect day to include Park Guell various rests and a lunch stop (important for us and my 77yo mother) However, I truly appreciated the fact that when we had rest stops or lunch she did not stop teaching. Pili has a background in computer science and then followed her passion as an artist/sculptor. Therefore, her tour is a lovely mix of the science which Gaudi used to capture the maximum amount of light and color inside “the Temple,” as she calls it. Due to a fault on my part, Pili was not able to connect with us until the last minute and our tour is totally due to her persistence in reaching us; otherwise, the one reason we came to Barcelona would have been ruined. Dear Visitors of Barcelona! If you want to open your eyes deeper to the great master Gaudi, you should treat yourself to a guided tour with Pili. You can customize the length and subjects to fit your needs. I went with my husband and two grown up children age 18 and 20. We all came with little knowledge about Gaudi. We benefitted greatly, both from the talk about Gaudi as we passed his buildings and the questioning and guidance to see new angles and understand some of the causes of fundamental choices in his constructions. She explains so well the thinking behind the architectural and engineering process for the these two projects and everything else that Gaudi built.
