This is the plan

Check out the plan below to see what you'll get up to with your local host. Feel free to personalize this offer with Sabine.

  1. Meeting point

Meet at Festungsgasse 1 - Salzburg to start your journey

  2. Itinerary

This is what our experience could look like, but it’s not set in stone! Once you book, you can chat directly with your host to make small tweaks to suit your preferences.

  3. City walking tour

We start at St Peter's cemetery and walk through the medival lanes where we stop at the last executioner's house and talk about his profession and side jobs. We will stop at several locations where we did torture or where it was the pillory. We talk about witches' trials and orgia on Gaisberg Mountain and the burning of the last witch in Salzburg. Furthermore we stop on Residenzplatz where we had kind of public viewing because of executions next to the bell tower. We continue our walk to Residenzplatz and explore Salzburg history due to WW2 and bombardement of the cathedral next door. We continue our walk through the Northern Rome, nickname for the big squares in Old Town, all full of history and dark chartern in the past. In the end of the tour we arrive at the Old City Hall, the City's präsentiert and torture place and learn more about the different methods of torture in former times.
  4. St. Peters Cemetery

We will start at St. Peter's cemetery and stroll through medieval lanes, stopping at the last executioner's house to discuss his profession and side jobs
  5. Torture

We will make stops at several locations associated with torture and the pillory, learning about their historical significance
  6. Witches

Let's discuss witches' trials and orgies on Gaisberg Mountain, including the story of the last witch burned in Salzburg
  7. Execution

Pause at Residenzplatz to view the bell tower where public executions were held, reflecting on this dark aspect of history
  8. WWII Impact

Explore the history of Salzburg during World War II and the impact of bombardments on the nearby cathedral, at Residenzplatz
  9. Nothern Rome

We will continue the walk through the "Northern Rome," exploring the big squares in Old Town with their rich history and darker past
  10. City Hall

We will conclude the tour at the Old City Hall, the city's showcase and site of historical torture methods, delving into the grim practices of the past

Unfortunately Sabine couldn’t make it but she arranged for Sissy to take her place. We had 2 adults and 4 children between 16-20yo and Sissy tailored the tour for our group very well. She provided great insight into the history of Salzburg and some of its key citizens in a way that was informative and engaging to all. I would thoroughly recommend this tour with Sissy.A great tour with excellent content

We spent several hours with Sabine soaking in the history and beauty of Salzburg. She was an interesting, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic guide who clearly loves her city and the opportunity to share it with newcomers. We spent several hours with Sabine and the time flew by. She also left us with some excellent tips on where to get the best food and drink in the city. Highly recommend!! Love Salzburg

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 3+ hours touring all over Salzburg with Sabine. She shared loads of information about Salzburg’s history as well as pointing out the Sound of Music locations, recommending restaurants and bars and places we should see in our remaining time in Salzburg. Sabine is warm and friendly, knowledgeable about all things Salzburg and she showed us sights that we would never have found on our own!! I highly recommend Sabine! Fabulous Tour with Sabine!!

Our family agreed, when we left Sabine we were saddened. Sabine provided us the finest example of an outstanding tour, ever! Her historical knowledge blended with modern observations made for thorough learning and enjoyment. I would recommend Sabine and withlocals, without hesitation and with with guidance that this is the only way to tour. Thank you and we hope to see you again, Sabine!Awesome Tour!

We had Francisca NOT Sabine for this tour.. which I wouldn’t say is a food tour at all. It started at 5pm and we only went to ONE restaurant at 7:15pm. We got a piece of bread and one piece of chocolate from 5-7:15pm. Decent historical tour, but again, was expecting a food tour like the description had said. Not worth the $160 per person that we paid at all. We could have gone to the one restaurant on our own and saved so much money. Would not recommend at all if you’re looking for a food tour. NOT A FOOD TOUR

More about me

I love history, acting, travelling around the world and to dance Salsa.

If I am not working in Salzburg and around this beautiful place I enjoy my life while having an Aperol Spritz on a roof top terrace in Salzburg or just enjoying myself, my friends & daughter of 12 years.
