What a lovely afternoon I had with Xavier! I was happy to have his assistance navigating my way out of Bruges, and loved all the information he shared about the town and surrounding area’s history. After an easy ride to Nantes we stopped for a drink in the lovely town and returned a different tour so I could see more of the area. The bike trip itself was great. Beautiful scenery and countryside. The previous reviews raved about Xavier, but we, unfortunately, saw a different side of him. He rode ahead of us the entire time, and did not stay with our group of three. He made sarcastic comments. When our friend apologized for her slower pedaling, he quipped that they’ve learned to accept it. When we wanted to stop to take a photo, he said there would be better spots ahead. My sister wanted to run and look at some passing cows in town, and he replied, annoyed, Go if you have to. In the town of Damme, Xavier told us we would stop to have a drink. When we sat down , my friend said she’d like to order fries and he said, No, we don’t have time. So, I suggested we just go to the market and get bottled water. He insisted on staying at the restaurant. When the bill came, he did not offer to pay for his share, and never even said Thank You to me for paying for his drink. On the way back to town, Xavier rode his bike way ahead. There were some tricky spots to navigate, a bridge, and some turns. He did not wait. If my sister and I had not waited for our friend to catch up, she would have been long gone, as she went straight and we had turned. Luckily we saw her and shouted for her to turn around. Xavier had no idea about this, or the fact that our friend fell twice. What could have been a wonderful experience turned out to be stressful and disappointing. Pretty Countryside

We booked a 3-1/2 hour bike tour to the countryside with Xavier. The day of the tour was rainy and windy so Xavier suggested options of cancelling or using the time for an extended city tour. We are glad we opted to go - Xavier is an outgoing, fun, and extremely knowledgeable guide. We biked all over the central area and to out of the way places. We learned a great deal about the architecture and history of the city, plus several very interesting extra stories. We decided Xavier’s “plan B” tour was an excellent alternative. We heartily recommend Xavier - just be prepared for riding on cobblestones!Exceeded expectations

This was one of the prettiest bike rides I've been on and my husband said it was the highlight of Bruges for him!! You can tell Xavier really loves to show off the beauty of the countryside and loves the history of Dammes and Bruges! The ride is mostly on dedicated bike paths outside the city, so it was definitely less stressful than riding in Amsterdam. Would recommend this ride as a great way to escape the tourist crowds!! A beautiful ride!!

My daughter and myself spent 4 hours in company of Xavier cycling through the most beautiful countryside from Bruges to Damme and coming from Ireland this is high praise .Xavier was an excellent guide it was like we knew him for ever.He gave us a big insight into life past and present in Bruges and surrounding areas .We dined on best local dish Asperger with eggs it was truly one of the nicest meas we have had and especially after all the fresh air. We also enjoyed the local beer. We weren't aware of the beautiful countryside of Bruges but were really impressed. Peaceful, picturesque and with an authentic touch. Damme was very peaceful and interesting. We also had a pleasent time at the folks game cafe. Very folkloric! The end of the tour was relaxing and interesting.Very nice!

Xavier was a great host for a morning stroll through areas of Bruges we hadn't seen. We arrived a few days earlier and had explored on our own, but it was clear that we should have started with Xavier's tour because he showed us more possibilities and interesting areas than we knew about on our own. It was our first try with this platform hoping to find local flavour and insight on our visit...We were frankly disappointed and think the platform oversell the calibre of the locals as tour guides asking pro price by not really delivering. Our guide was changed a few hours before tour and Xavier did not provide any of the things we expected to find for a rather steep fee. While 3 beers were included, no snack that was advertised materialised, no historical context, fun facts, or insight into beer tradition generally. We had beers at 3 nice pubs with a bit of socialising...not our idea of a guided tour or "beer tradition experience". There are cheaper similar tours available so don't waste your money on this one...Disappointing value for money

We were not happy with our food tour. The people in this our group have been on several food tours and this is the worst one any of us have been on. We felt like the restaurants were not expecting us. We spent a lot of time just standing around. The tour did not seem very organized. Not worth the time

Xavier arrived 10 minutes late to our True Flavors of Bruges: 10 Tastings tour with the excuse “I’m not a morning person.” He’s no local foodie, either. When asked what was in the waffle dough, his response was, “I don’t know. I’m not a woman and only women bake.” Xavier didn't provide the advertised tour. Of the 10 tastes we had just 7. As for visiting the advertised “authentic Flemish pub” where local beer is brewed and sausage is served, or the “hidden gem” of a bakery for a cookie, or discovering what the “queen of seafood” is, Xavier elected to show us none of these. Save your money and enjoy the great food Bruges has to offer on your own. Local shopkeepers and waiters will provide you more thorough and accurate information than you'll get from Xavier. Disappointing

1ste kennismaking ter plaatse ging over betaling, culinair was het wel gestart maar niet in dezelfde trend verder verlopen er werd geen foto met de groep gemaakt geen drinken bij frietjes of bij de Luikse halve ! wafel, wel voor de gids... annulatie van zieke collega, kon in de cashbetaling geen vermindering met zich meebrengen, jammerwandeling Brugge met proevertjes

We had a great tour with Xavier. It was good to go to some of the less touristy places and sample some food and drink that the locals would eat. The highlights have to be the cheese shop and the massive pot of sausage with a good Belgian beer. Xavier was a great guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about all things food and drink, and always answered our many questions! Would highly recommend both the tour and the guide, well worth it!Great tour

Even though it was not part of the tour, he showed me a place to get a hot beverage to warm up on this cold rainy day. Xavier gave us a great tour that lasted around 90 minutes. He was a lovely guy and was happy to answer a range of questions. He knows the city very well and pointed us in the direction of all of the best eateries, shops, pubs etc. - this is a great way to get the inside line on the city and avoid the tourist traps!Great local guide - friendly and relaxed
