Spending the day with Silvia is like getting together with a long lost friend who happens to know everything you ever wanted to know about Portuguese history, the best places to stop for a snack, and those hidden/secret spots along the coast that are so magical to experience. Her happiness is infectious and she just made everything so so easy. Yes, a private guide is more expensive than a group tour, but after seeing the hoards of people crammed into vans or buses it was 100% worth it to drive around in her safe and comfortable car, doing exactly what I wanted and never feeling rushed or bored. Our Sintra tour with Silvia was fantastic. She was an amazing guide and a lovely person to spend the day with. We booked this for our first day in Portugal and it was a wonderful way to start our holiday. Silvia, was bang on time, and from the start was very friendly. She has great knowledge about Sintra and the Pina palace, but knew lots about Lisbon too. She gave us a great recommendation for lunch and even called ahead and booked us a table and good job she did as it was very busy and rightly so as the tapas was amazing! We then went to most westerly point in Europe which was lovely but very windy. Then our last stop was Cascais, which as she said is like the Portuguese rivière. She will make the tour what ever you want. I would definitely recommend her and would book her again.A great tour to Sintra.

Our day started very early with a hotel pickup by our friendly and very knowledgeable tour guide Silvia. We beat the crowds at Sintra Castle and spent a lot of time looking at the beautiful garden on the way up to the castle and then walking about the various rooms. Silvia helped us understand the history of the castle and the history of the monarchy at the time of the castle. Then we went into town and had lovely pastries and a fabulous lunch at a local restaurant We drove back through Cascais and picturesque Estoril. It was a very full and enjoyable day with a tour guide I would not hesitate to use again Thank you Silvia A day with Silvia.

We had a wonderful day with Silvia as our private tour guide. She picked us up right at our AirBNB in Lisbon and we were off for the day! We had exchanged messages in advance to decide our day’s activities. We wanted to visit Peña Palace, and added Quinta da Regaleira. We requested to see the coast and Silvia showed us two spots for memorable views and amazing sights. We also wanted to visit Cascais and it did not disappoint. Silvia provided all the info in advance for us to arrange tickets. The day was scheduled perfectly so we were able to see all we wanted without being caught in crowds or long lines. The drive was comfortable and scenic and Silvia even made a stop we requested for a personal photo opp. She provided lots of information, made touring the castles and all of the sites easy and educational. She is well informed on the history and particulars of the sites, but is also extremely generous with her own personal stories. She picked a perfect place for us to lunch, pointed out the best places for local treats. Along our drive, Silvia provided lots of tips and recommendations for Lisbon too. She was a complete delight, we could not have asked for more and encourage anyone to work with her for a truly memorable experience!Fabulous day trip to Sintra and more

Not only was she extremely friendly and warm, she is a scholar of Portuguese history and gave us incredible back stories about the Palace and filled us in on all of the historical details around what we were seeing. Silvia could not have been more friendly, accommodating, charming and helpful! In response to our request for a more comfortable vehicle for the six of us she got us a van with a dashing driver (Andre). Despite the fact that it rained throughout our visit to Peña Palace and the walk up and down the beautiful woodland gardens, it was as if the sun was shining because of Silvia’s cheerful attitude and wise ways to go through the various sites. She was very knowledgeable about every place we visited and in Sintra had made a reservation for us at a restaurant with great local food ( after asking our food preferences a few weeks before we arrived). She took us to special little shops and insisted on treating us to a local pastry specialty in Caiscais. On the ride back to Lisbon, she gave us great advice about visiting Belem, including how to avoid the crowds seeing the sights and buying the famous pastel de Belen—and also recommended places in Lisbon to shop for high quality cork items and where to go for rooftop drinks. Her enthusiasm and good ideas seemed endless. She was delight to spend the day with!Silvia was the best!!!

A friend and I visited Lisbon, however, not at the same time, and our experiences diverged greatly. I love Portugal and my friend, to my confusion, was not as enamored as I was. “Visiting a country is like reading a book. Your experience can vary greatly depending on your mood, the food, and the good things you interact with”— Silvia. The day that we spent with Silvia could have gone possibly awry—it was raining non stop and we were drenched as we hopped from place to place. Instead of being miserable, we learned and laughed the whole way. There was no place for being melancholy in her presence, I don’t think we can be in the presence of such a positive person. In the middle of our trip, she recommended a restaurant and we all ate lunch. The food was delicious and made even more delightful by her insightful commentaries about any topics we inquired about. She took us to places not on the itinerary because she discerned that we would enjoy those places: and we did. I have read numerous books in my life because reading is my passion and I remember quite a few as my favorites. Traveling is also a passion, and this tour with Silvia, like my favorite books, will become a staple of my treasured memories.Silvia should be your guide.

We had an amazing day with Siliva last Thursday. From the moment she picked us up she was so friendly & helpful. We went off to Sintra Palace where Siliva was told us lots of history about the palace and Lisbon. She was considerate of my husband who has fibromyalgia and helped him to get a bus up the hill so he didn’t do too much walking. After the palace Siliva dropped us in Sintra village where we had an amazing lunch recommended by Siliva. We needed Gluten Free options and she was knowledgable and her recommendation was great. We then walked round Sintra village and onto Regaleira. After walking around both of them Siliva drove us to Cabo and Cascais. It was a perfect day and the best day of our short trip. We can’t thank Siliva enough and we would highly recommend her trips and experiences. We hope to see her again if we visit Lisbon again. Thank you for an amazing day ❤️
