   Meet at Puerta de la Justicia - Granada to start your journey

2. Itinerary

   This is what our experience could look like, but it’s not set in stone! Once you book, you can chat directly with your host to make small tweaks to suit your preferences.

3. Meeting

   We will meet at the entrance of the Alhambra, in order to introduce ourselves and to do a brief introduction about the background of the Alhambra.

4. Alcazaba

   Our first stop will be at the Alcazaba, an ancient castle where the private army of the Sultans live there. The towers will allow us to have a 360º view to all the city from above!

5. Charles V Palace

   Before we head to the Nasrid Palaces, we will visit the palace of the Emperor Charles V, one of the most powerful people in the world, and then stop for 5 mint. just to go to the restrooms.

6. Nasrid Palaces

   A book made building. Palaces full of tilework, plaster, marble and magic, with so many carvings where the Muslims wanted to represent the only thing that christians didn't have: the word of Allah. Here I will translate for you these inscriptions as well as explain the purpose of all these palaces.

7. Partal and Gardens

   After our visit to the palaces, we will then visit the Partal and the gardens, an appetizer before the last dish, the Generalife.

8. Generalife

   Or Summer Palace, it was an almunia or residence where Sultans and their families retire specially in summer due to the heat. Combination of gardens and pools so even the most suffocated soul can find a beautiful rest under the shade of the trees or by listening to the songs of the water flowing through the insides of the Alhambra.

The top site for my wife and I to see in Spain for this trip was the palace and fortress of Alhambra. We had very high expectations, and we were not disappointed because of our guide, Nacho. From the beginning, Nacho communicated well and made it easy for us to connect with him and find him to begin our tour. It’s easy to say Nacho was made to give this tour! His enthusiasm, knowledge, and communication skills are excellent. He was quite adept at understanding our knowledge and adjusted his communication to meet our needs. At various times, he used his iPad to show details to help further our understanding, which made the tour all the better. My wife and I have had several guides who have a great depth of knowledge about a subject. But we haven’t had a guide with the enthusiasm and energy of Nacho, combined with his deep knowledge and passion. What makes his guidance so fantastic is that you can feel that Nacho wants one to walk away with the same awe, reverence, and knowledge that he has for Alhambra. We had a great tour with Nacho his knowledge of the Alhambra enabled us to really get a deeper understanding of this amazing place. We would have missed so much if he hadn’t been with us. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Nacho. He was very informative, knowledgeable and friendly with our 11 years old son. Along the guide, Nacho gave us always tips, stories and ipad pictures of how the Alhambra looks like in the original days and how the Sultan life was all about. He ensured that each of us had a special experience, for the kid, for the Mom taking pictures and Dad asking for more information. He did not disappoint and for this he deserves a special thanks. Nacho was so very clear in explaining the history of the Alhambra. He showed us maps on his iPad to explain the travel from Demarcus and the different families that built and ruled the Alhambra. Glad that I have booked this tour with Nacho. Alhambra is very big and I will be lost wondering around without this tour. Nacho was super informative. He sent me a long list of what to do before the tour and even what to do + what to eat in Granada. He is very knowledgeable, well prepared and energetic. We only had 6 people in our group and Nacho kindly rejected the request from other impromptu visitors who'd like to join our group in the middle of our tour. It was just us an Nacho, so we got a really personalized experience. Nacho is an expert on the Alhambra and Arabic architecture and he brings so much passion and knowledge into his tour without it being overwhelming. I cannot imagine there is a more knowledgeable or enthusiastic tour guide in Granada. Nacho did so much more for us than just lead the way. Nacho! A great tour guide. Helpful from first minute I made booking online. He sent me alot of information, asked about my interests and went beyond his tour time to give me the best customized Granada experience. Nacho's energy matches his name. Of several experiences, he is at the top. In 3 quick hours, we visited the Cathedral (tickets are purchased separately), the Albayzin and Sacramonte. You need to be sufficiently fit to manage the wall up the steep incline at times. Note that Nacho tells us he speaks several European languages as well as Mandarin Chinese and Arabic. WithLocals it's more expensive than some booking apps but that should not deter you from booking Nacho.Energetic Native Guide
