If you want to learn, experience and come away from your trip slightly more connected and fulfilled, then I would highly recommend you join Mangku and have him guide you through this beautiful experience. It combines Mangku’s knowledge, philosophies, empathy and guidance together with a truly stunning setting in nature and waterfalls, together with an immersive experience away from the hordes of tourists. Mangku and his driver, Jimi, picked me up from the hotel and drove me about 1.5 hours in the countryside past villages and rice fields to the temple, nestled in a lush valley where 2 rivers meet with 2 stunning waterfalls. He led me through the various stages and rituals of the purification ceremony and explained everything. He taught me a special meditation technique whilst sitting in a huge cave with the powerful sound of rushing waterfall in the background. I then bathed underneath the second waterfall and ended up back at the temple for the final ritual before driving back to my hotel. Overall a truly special day. Spiritual experience

Komang accompanied me to the Melukat ritual in the Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala temple. He was kind enough to organise a driver to pick me up from my hotel for a small extra charge. I hadn't quite realised that our excursion consisted solely of the ritual. I had somehow expected that we would also spend time outside the temple, hiking and meditating. This may have been due to the pictures on the Withlokals website, as Komang had actually described to me beforehand exactly what we were going to do. I had my own personal challenges during the ritual. Komang accompanied me in a very personalised and empathetic way. This allowed me to experience the spirituality of Bali at first hand. It was a really very personal experience for me that will stay with me. Back in Germany, I am still wearing the bracelet that Komang untied for me after the ritual. Welcome to Bali, said Komang. We wanted to learn about Balinese culture and religion but after all we learned a lot about ourselves! This tour with Komang (Mangku is his title as a priest) was not only well organised but also a calm, hustle free dive into spirituality. Komang is a very charismatic, highly intelligent and empathetic man and the perfect guide into the Balinese ritual of melukat. The place he chose was stunningly beautiful and not crowded at all. Every person at the temple, especially the high priest, who leads the prayers and gives a blessing afterwards was open to foreigners and very welcoming. This tour is not for instagram-shot hunters but for people who want to be allowed to take a glimpse into this particular part of Balinese live. If you come with an open mind and just go with it, you will be highly rewarded! Nevertheless nobody will give you strange looks if you want to take some pictures there as long as this is not the sole purpose of your visit! Highly recommend!Outstanding experience

The setting of this tour (Pura Taman Pecampuhan Sala) is a beautiful and secluded temple in a waterfall canyon, and the ideal location for learning and experiencing a cleansing ritual. We felt thoroughly cleansed, both physically (from light splashes to full immersion) and emotionally/spiritually. Mengku Komang found his calling as a priest (Mengku) some years ago, after a previous professional career. This gives him unique insight and an ability to communicate the intricacies of Balinese spirituality to a foreigner’s understanding. If he takes you on this journey, you will get a much more personal and immersive journey than is offered by the temple priests or other local guides. Such a unique spiritual experience! Was picked up by the driver and taken to an ancient temple hidden in a beautiful jungle canyon where I met with Mangku. We had a great conversation and he helped me to meditate the traditional balinese way. Afterwards I was introduced to the secrets of the spiritual washing / healing ritual. Mangku was a very gentle and wise man. Great English and was happy to answer any questions. Very knowledgeable about spiritualism and Hindu religion. The tour was very enjoyable but you need to be reasonably active in order to reach the waterfall as there are many steps, but this was no problem for our group. I would highly recommend Mangku and this tour if you are interested in a spiritual experience in nature that is not very touristy. Highly recommend

Mangku was a lovely guide and such an inspiration. It was really great to get out of the city and go to a hidden waterfall. The locals were friendly and although it rained, it was the perfect setting for meditation and reflection. Mangku showed us how to make offerings and explained the importance of Balinese spirituality in everyday life. Understanding this has made our trip so much more meaningful. Set in a tranquil hidden spot, in all the hours we where there the place was barely visited. Mangku shared some helpful yoga exercises and breathing and was kind enough to let me film it to not forget. He also shared a lot of information on Balinese spirituality and his experiences. Also had a water purification. A lot of this experience is based on conversation. The day was rounded off with a delicious traditional snack in a Warung and he read us information about our dates of birth! Magical environment

Mangku lead us to a beautifully isolated sacred waterfall area. He carefully explained details about Balinese religion, spirituality, and way of life. Mangku Komang were truly spiritual host guiding me through beautiful balinese ceremony in a deeply spiritual jungle. I had lot's of very useful, interesting knowledge about spirituality in Bali (tantra, hinduism, ceremonies, meanings etc). Meditation under waterfall was really natural and deep experience. Mangku gave me good instructions about daily yoga practise and it was beautiful surroundings to do yoga. We booked Mangku for a custom tour, starting from Ubud, going to Tegallang Rice Terrace, Jatiluwih Rice Terrace, Pura Ulun Danu Beratan Bedugul and a Holy Spring Water temple along the way. Mangku arrived early with his driver Coco and we had a seamless experience. Mangku was very helpful to help me find places where I could fly my drone. During the tour he shared with us valuable experiences of his spiritual life as a priest. Mangku has exceptional knowledge and even was creating multiple documentaries for german and french television. You can see him in a episode of Galileo (5 Dinge die in Bali unverzichtbar sind) We were very happy to have a certifified guide on short notice eventhough it costs a little more.
