We took the five-hour city tour of Muscat with Yousuf, and it was an outstanding experience. Exploring this beautiful city with him was an absolute delight. Ali was very nice, but did not provide details or interesting facts about what we visited. I believe he would be a great desert tour guide, but does not have the same enthusiasm for a Muscat City Tour. A BIT LIGHTS ON THE DETAILS

Highly enjoyable and informative evening tour of Muscat with Yousaf Ali - exactly what we’d hoped for. Yousaf was great at reading his audience and delivering! We’d already seen a good bit of Muscat by day, and also a trip to Nizwa etc, so we were keen to hear about Oman/Muscat’s history and current affairs, mixed with getting a different view of old Muscat by night. We had an unforgettable half-day tour of Muscat, all thanks to our incredible guide Yousuf! From the awe-inspiring Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque to a stroll through the intriguing Mutrah Souq Market, Fish Market, Bait al Bagh Museum and stops at other city gems, Yousuf turned the 5 hours into a whirlwind of history & culture. Not only did Yousuf show us the sights, but he also answered our many questions about Omani culture. We only had one day at leisure in Muscat and as two of the three geologists in the party wanted to see the country & culture and also some rocks Yousef took us to Nizwa fort and then up Wadi My'adin. Really fantastic trip with a friendly and knowledgeable guide who was flexible to accomodate our interests. Recommended. Fantastic trip to Nizwa & Wadi My'adin

We did a half day Muscat tour with Yousuf and it was great. The tour takes to all the important things to see in Muscat. Yousouf was friendly, knowledgeable and we had a great time. As flight crew, having only one day to explore just a few of the beautiful sites that Oman has to offer, we booked with Withlocals.com and just by chance, when picking a guide, we got ourselves very lucky with Yousuf, a very knowledgeable, friendly and all round nice guy to have with you as a guide. He picked us up at the hotel and took us to the Grand Canyon of Oman, Wadi Ghul, showing us around, telling us all about its history and significance to the Omani people. A definite must see! Afterwards, we drove to the 400 year old and abandoned city of Al Hamra, where we roamed through the empty streets and vacant houses. Truly a site to see. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at a local coffee bar where Yousuf treated us to some typical Omani delights, thin pancakes with honey (Kuruz) and sweet coffee with caramel. After a great day out, we all went home with a bag full of the best quality dades you will ever find in Oman, something you won’t find at the typical tourist stops, but Yousuf knows just where to go. Needles to say, we highly recommend Yousuf as your guide and, also important, a confident safe driver. A great experience guaranteed. A great day exploring

His knowledge of local history, both human and geological, was shared with humour and generosity, while the tour to the wadi and the desert were good fun. We spent our first trip with Yousuf on the Muscat city tour. He is a delight on every level. Really informative, courteous and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the AC vehicle - and he's a great driver! A very smooth trip around the key sites in Muscat. Our second trip with Yousuf was a trip out to the desert. It was wonderful. Again, good smooth driving - for a couple of hours and then the excitement began. We headed up and over the dunes - which my husband thought was fantastic. I loved it too. We then had a chilling time watching the sunset and enjoyed watching some dune racing. On the way back we enjoyed a quick stop for karak tea - must be experienced - and a lovely Omani bread with a cheese and honey filling - really nice touch from Yousuf. My husband can be rather pinickity with tour guides but Yousuf did not disappoint. They got along really well. Yousuf is a man of many talents, marathon runner, trekker, desert expert and very well travelled. His English is excellent and he is very courteous. He's a great story teller too! Thanks again Yousuf, it was a pleasure to meet you and spend time in your company and in Oman.Excellent trips - would highly recommend!

We had such an incredible day with Yousuf. He was so knowledgable and great fun. On top of all that, he managed to save a boy from drowning at the Wadi! He’s a bit of a super hero! After the wadi trip we went out into the desert. This was such a special trip. He drove us over the dunes which was such fun and a big adrenaline rush, then set up camp on top of one of the dunes so that we could watch the sunset which was just magical. He went over and above to make our day special and I can’t recommend him highly enough Thanks Yousuf Magical day with Yousuf
